One of the greatest days in American history.
Seeing republicans and democrats alike cheering USA together is something we are sadly not like to see anytime soon.
John Rambo I was only 2011 then and didn’t know much about history, I thought loving your country for better or worse was something everyone did in every corner of the globe, it shapes your identity. I’m a proud centrist now, and I know that this country has major flaws but I long for the days when we could all respect each other’s differing opinions while still acknowledging the fact that it could all be much worse. I’ve been to the poorest nations in Africa and the people there and 10000x happier than your average American, they’re just happy to be alive and make others happy. Here we just love to tear each other down all in the name of being feeling good about ourselves, while being completely oblivious to the fact that we’re better off spreading positive energy.
It was an inside job
There were two days in which America actually came together as a whole. September 12, 2001, and May 1, 2011. Wish we could get more days like this.

When 2 comments from 2 years ago are still relevant, cause both sides of the political spectrum are pointing fingers at one another.
I remember hearing this on the news and I sighed in deep relief and I shouted, "FINALLY! After ten long years, we finally got him!" My heart went out to the families of the victims believing justice was finally served, the families can move on, and the victims' spirits can truly be at peace. I know it seems wrong to celebrate and be happy over someone's death, but when it comes to heartless monsters like Osama Bin Laden, that's an exception. USA, USA, USA! Sorry, couldn't help myself.
You still remember that day?
Hypocrisy considering the USA killed more than a million in Iraq.
I can't believe American people would get so rapped up in the wrong killing of Osama bin Laden. It is a well-known fact that bin Laden did not have weapons of Mas destruction. Which was the reason we declared war in the Middle East.

I remember my mom waking me up that night and telling me bin Laden was killed, and the next day just about everyone came to school in some sort of American flag, some sort of patriotic gear. Many of us were too young to remember 9/11 but we knew something big had happened.
Man I wish we could be this united now as we were that day
I will always remember this day. I was 8 when I was living with my dad and he had Fox News on and was doing work in his garage. School was done so I stayed up around 10 PM that night just playing games on my DSi and then Fox basically made a grand announcement of Bin Laden’s death that would catch your attention if you overheard it.
Me being 8 and born after 9/11, I had no idea who Bin Laden was so I found my dad and told him “who was Bin Laden and why is the news making a big deal about his death?”
After that all I can remember was my dad running to the living room and five seconds later he basically let out a war-cry or triumph.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we got him."

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
I really miss this patriotic time. Really sad with all these riots going on.
We may have killed Bin Laden, but sadly as time goes on it would seem that he did succeed in dividing us and making our country weaker than ever.

You people are so misinformed it's actually scary. Bin laden was never indicted for 911. The US government didn't have any evidence he was connected to 911 so they never indicted. The fact that people believe bin laden was guilty of 911 proves that most people don't think
People commenting on here showing how insanely jealous they are of something their country and military couldn't achieve no matter how hard they tried only makes Americans feel even more superior than they already are. So keep it up.
The American military failed to find Osama for ten years, while he was hiding less than two miles away from the intelligence service hq in an allied state. Meanwhile, American forces were in Iraq, busy creating ISIS and destabilizing the whole region.
Yeah, I'm totally jealous my country's military couldn't achieve that ...

No it wasn't, that's not even comparable. Ww2 was far worse than 911. 3000 deaths vs 70 million deaths.
I appreciate how many journalists remarked on the sentiment of most young people then. People around the world have to understand most of the 20-somethings in that video were in middle/high school on 9/11/01. Particularly folks who grew up in the NY area were traumatized by those events and lived in general fear for a very long time. Imagine being young and teachers/parents always being so sure of your safety for most of your life and one day it all being turned on its head. We saw those towers fall right in front of us. Many of us knew people who died there. We didn't expect to feel that way when Bin Laden was killed, but there was massive jubilation. Although the situation was pretty morbid in hindsight, I'm still glad I was there. It is indeed a major part of the history of the American psyche.

A lot of you are commenting on how wrong it was to celebrate Bin Laden's death. Although I find this slightly in poor taste, I have to give a free pass to NYC and the US for this one. This isn't even close to the celebration we saw in the streets in the Arab world when the towers fell. Many of the families of 9/11 have been waiting for some sort of Justice for so long. And maybe those haters on these people celebrating can see this as a celebration of Justice, not death. Its allways PoV.
