Hey! Nice video. I have Scrambler 1100 and I intend to install crash pads on my own. My question is that possible to change the rod without jacking the bike under the engine? (Because I don't have any motor protection metal to support the jack as you did.)
I would advise to still support the engine as there is a good chance it will drop just a bit when removing the old rod. Just use a piece of wood between the jack and engine to distribute the weight and you should be fine.
Hi there, greetings from Ecuador, may you help me? I just changed my exhaust putting just slip on, what is the purpose of using that pipe with that curve? thank in advance for your answer.
Hi! That pipe replaces the catalytic converter and it's rounded like that just to look nicer, usually other brands make them straighter without that bend.
Thank you 😀, the engine was supported because the long metal rod that I replaced supports the engine to the chassis, so if you don't lift the engine a bit and remove that rod the engine may drop off a slightly and you won't be able to install the new rod.
any wrench from you local hardware store or amazon/ebay should be enough no need to buy super expensive equipment, just make sure that it goes up to 65nm of torque ebay.us/qpdpIQ
I have just fitted a set of Puig bobbins to my Icon. It was on the sidestand, with a rope tying it to the front forks so it cant retract. I put my car scissor jack under the engine head fins as a support but in practice it was not necessary. The existing engine mounting bar just slid out without having to knock it. I think this guy had to knock it out because he jacked the engine up too much and pinched the bar!
The rod could have been pinched a little bit yes and there was definitely some corrosion also, however when I lowered the jack without the rod the holes didn't align as the engine dropped just a little bit

Nice video 👍💪
Would you mind telling me why you raised the engine?

What's a good wrench with adjustable torque for this kinda stuff?
