Tatiana thank you for you clear and well organized videos. Could you please make one on channels of communication with Alibaba suppliers for newbies. Do we chat via alibaba messenger or email. How do we voice call them? Many suppliers have we chat but Im not sure if it's good to use that. Thanks

I'm in the works with an alibaba manufacturer I think these pointers could help. I definitely would rather risk investing 3k than 6-10k on a single product by asking for sample order. Plus I believe oil diffusers are a good niche on Amazon. Hopefully it goes the distance although I am skeptical about some of the dropshipping stories I've heard.

Amazing video Tatiana. Haven't thought about the email domain that's a great tip! Also haven't realised that I need more them then then the opposite until I started negotiating with them, it's not 50/50 as I thought.

Even if you find a supplier that allows MOQ of 200, check out the "small print." I remember reading what I thought was a 200 MOQ for perfume bottles and the small print said "200 for the first order, 5000 thereafter." And like Tatiana stated, always have more than one supplier.

I do have one question, so say 6 months with this one supplier and they no longer carry your item. So you message the second and say hey I will need an order now? And are these two products the exact same with exact same materials and color?

Hi - just reading through this - it sounds like the negotiation is for the sample order. And then I am assuming after cultivating the relationship, you can negotiate on a higher MOQ (assuming the sample order sold well)

Hi Tatiana , you do bring up some a very good point however, what if the product was slightly modified, would it not take longer for the other manufacturer to agree to those same modifications in the event you need to switch to them? How do you deal with this scenario?

@@PurpleSirens negotiation usually takes place after you have seen your product.. otherwise what is there to negotiate about?
No. Never negotiate sample price. You want to establish a relationship with the supplier and can't do that until you have facts to negotiate with. If you haggle over one sample, they will assume that you are difficult and may not want to work with you. If you instead inspect their product and give them real feedback to negotiate a better price, they will respect you more and you'll have better leverage in future negotiations. Also, how would you know what product improvements to ask for before placing your order until you've inspected the quality of the sample?
