    My old dog Wendy (1993ish -2010, with me since middle school, and grew with me through my 20s and all the drama that went along with that.
    Best friend I ever had. I sure miss her. I'd give anything to throw that tennis ball for her just one more time.

    My Husband and I Seperated, but we were still Married, he moved about and hour and 1/2 away, we had grown apart romantically, but were still friends, he passed away a little over a month ago and I took in his cat he had gotten, she is laying next to me right now, but it reminded me of this song.

    Love this song. Damn. I remember this playing on CMT when I was young back in the early early 90’s. Hell, I was only bout 12-14 years old. Seems like yesterday. Where does time go?!?!? Ironically I’m older now and seeing this again. My best friend and myself liked this song so much. We would have to wait for it to play. Now, we can just look up any song we want to hear and it’s right there. Thanks You Tube.

      Saw your post. How ironic, I was just reminiscing about the country videos of the early 90's... I worked at this bar back then and we would show CMT during the daytime and this is one of the videos that I liked and I haven't seen it since then and thought I'd look it up. Actually brought a little tear to my eyes... Remember back when CMT would play constant videos all day long? I miss that. This was nice seeing the video again..

      Oh yes. For sure. They used to play music videos all day. Yeah. What happened to that. Times were sure good back then. Damn. What is happening to our country. My "Jake" is named Oy and I never had any children and before I got him I used to laugh at people who said some animal was a part of their family. I have never had as deep a connection with anyone or anything. I love him SOOO much. I'm 41 now and he's 4 and I am petrified of the day our time together is done. It isn't a matter of another dog. He's absolutely irreplaceable.

    • @TheHibbitydibbity
      @TheHibbitydibbity Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I get that. I was the same way. My dog Bo goes everywhere with me except work. He's 13 now, blind in one eye, partially blind in the other, and has heart problems. Damn near broke down when the vet told me all that. Barely managed to keep it together enough to find out what the next steps were. Fortunately, he's still around, just on a bunch of meds. But it's gonna be rough when that time finally comes. Don't even want to think about it. Getting another dog almost seems like a betrayal. Not saying I'll never own another dog after him, but it'll be a bit.

      @@brianmaricle9646 absolutely, I constantly try everything I can think of to make him as happy as I possibly can and try to make sure that he always feels loved. His name is "Oy" (after the Billy Bumbler. A fictitious Dogesque animal in Stephen King's Dark Tower series). My Oy boy is just a mutt. I know he has some Shepherd but other than that I don't know. Don't care anyway. He's not for show or protection (though he can be protective). He's for loving. His purpose on earth is to make me happy by making him happy. I love to watch him have fun. He has the best smile I have ever seen on a dog and I don't care what anyone says. It's a smile. It comes out when we're having fun or when he's enjoying his food. He communicates with me with absolutely no difficulty. I always know what he's trying to say. I know just by how I got him that we were meant to be together. I was homeless for about 2 1/2 years. When I got on my feet I made sure to do alot of volunteer stuff. I was at a local open house cooking breakfast and in comes this guy with this puppy. I could tell right away that he couldn't care less about him. I immediately went over and started petting and playing with him. I asked his name and stuff and could tell right away that he was a super sweet soul. At 6 weeks old he just wanted love and I could also tell that this guy just wanted to use him as a panhandling tool. About 2 days later I see the guy out on the street. Now it's the middle of February in Michigan so a warm day is like 15 degrees. I see guy but no dog. So I asked one of the guys friends where the puppy was. He informed me that he couldn't take him to the crack house so when he wasn't panhandling he was just trying him up under the bridge. I knew exactly where he meant. It's in the woods underneath a railroad bridge where homeless people hang out. Totally littered with broken glass and used needles. MY HEAD EXPLODED. I didn't say another word. It was maybe 10 degrees. I walked right to the bridge and sure enough, there he was, crying his little heart out, shivering, tied to a fence with no water (it would have frozen anyway) no blanket, nothing. I cut the rope from around his neck, tucked him under my coat. He was so excited. I walked back to town to look for the guy because (and I don't say this because I'm trying to be a tough guy, I just want you to know how angry I was) I was going to put this asshole in the ER. Lucky for everyone he wasn't around. So I told his friend that I had originally talked to earlier "tell that piece of shit that this is my dog now, I'll be here tomorrow and I would love it if he had something to say about it" he never did of course and from that moment on Oy has been loved and cared for and wanted for nothing. He's my favorite. I love him.

    • @SmashingJack
      @SmashingJack 2 місяці тому

      I think you're missing the point. The song is talking about taking care of those who can't take care of themselves, like the dog Jake, and the part about the bums, hookers, and winos "Some say he's worthless, just let him be
      I for one would have to disagree
      And so would their Mama's" They were showing support to the gay community, which is also marginalized, even more back then.
