Pirates of the Mississippi was an American country music group. It was founded in 1987 by Rich Alves (guitar, Hammond organ, background vocals), Bill McCorvey (guitar, lead vocals) Jimmy Lowe (drums), Pat Severs (steel guitar, Dobro), and Dean Townson (bass guitar). Under this lineup, Pirates of the Mississippi made its national debut in 1990 with a cover of Hank Williams' "Honky Tonk Blues".

Loved EVERYTHING these guys did. They may have been underappreciated by the industry, but certainly not by their fans.
I've always liked this version. pirates put rock n roll into a country classic
90's country music was damn good.
90’s COUNTRY JAMMED! THE BEST EVER 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
He has the perfect voice for the lead in this song.
Such a fun song! Love their music. Great memories of the best times ever.
We need some more hits out of these guys. Country Music is starting to all sound the same.
Thanks for posting this video....We met and talked w/ the Pirates SEVERAL times. A great band and down to earth folks. Too bad about Dean passing. I'd like to see the remaining members get back together again. Always got a kick out of the bare foot drummer...A super group !!

I forgot POM covered this song. How cool would a Hank and Huey cameo have been? I love this track!
Classic country rock and roll
reminds me of the time I was in a bar not long after I turned 21. a bar brawl broke out when this song played on the Jukebox. I walked out of there with a bloody nose and a black eye. fun times
Rockin’ Hank 👊‼️
I Line Danced to this Song in a Competition many Years ago. Dianne D
