I just want to ask. The X-wing scene. Did the animation look weird to you? Like they did it in miniature, maybe? To save money, maybe? And was the last time they did miniature shots was during the original trilogy? That would be pretty cool if they did miniatures again after so long.
I love how Silvio spun the pair of x wings as bad guys hired thug wim refers to them as " the goons!" When they take a pass at the ship. Such a funny inversion of how we think of x wings.
Sm33 is too funny.. when he walked off after the conversation with jude law character and then he came back and said “eye” then walked off again had me dying laughing.
Thanks, Charlie! ✨💀✨ On the word alone, I figured astrogation was a space-y version of navigation. I then looked it up and was correct. Here are the details from Wookieepedia for anyone interested: Astrogation was the science of safely and reliably traversing space in a starship. Throughout galactic history, cartographers and scouts traveled between star systems in search of more reliable and safer hyperspace routes free of dangerous obstacles, advancing the science of astrogation. Traveling through hyperspace required a navigation computer to make precise calculations in order to follow these lanes and avoid crashing into "mass shadows," the gravitational wells surrounding massive celestial bodies such as planets. Often, ships had to navigate by way of hyperspace buoys or stop at waypoints to calculate another hyperspace vector.
I believe that him denying actually saying that he was a Jedi, was like a reflex to anyone that suspected him, considering how long Jedi were hunted after Order 66. Deny, deny, deny, until you have to reveal the truth...self preservation.
Jude Law's character definitely has some Jedi training such as "throwing" sounds to distract guards (recall Obi-Wan did this in Ep3 when he was turning off the tractor beam on the Death Star) so he is probably a survivor of Order 66, maybe a padawan or youngling. But he had to survive in the outside world.
I personally think he’s a force user that learned his skills himself but I’m not opposed to him being a former padawan or a former member of a force cult/ society

I think At-Attin is where old republic credits are minted. I think it's rich in the material used in old republic credits and they mine it from the planet.
I agree, like they were the planet that minted the old republic credits, and its been controlled by a central computer (the supervisor). Then the planet was forgotten when the old republic fell, but they are still minting under the control of the supervisor. So I do believe there will be real treasure in the end. I don't know if that's what you were thinking, but that's my feeling.
Ohhh I like that. I'd go like this. Inside the planet is a huge planet size machine that's still running and making those republic money bars. It would explain why the pirates tried to land there and crash and why they cook flipped out seeing the money or why they showed the kid holding the money. The great work might be trying to open the locks to get in and it will take one thing they don't have a Jedi on the planet.

Really really liking this show. It's simply full of charm. I watch it on the weekends with my grandkids. They don't have D+ at their home. But my biggest question for the show is, how did that spaceship end up buried on At-attin?
I think that Wim's dad is gonna figure out what's wrong with the great work realising why his wife disappeared. Wim mentioned missing his mom in episode 1 if i'm correct.
Yeah, I thought about that at the beginning of episode 3 when Wim’s Dad, Wendle, turns around on the couch and puts his head down and touches his four nose with his two fingers like “there’s something deeply going on here that is wrong and I have felt it for a while now” I’m sure we’ll find out how his wife died and maybe it’s connected to her trying to leave the planet as well.
I really wish they would go back to the old Republic and do a bunch of movies and TV shows. It'd be great to see a whole bunch of other Jedi and sith things going on that do not involve the skywalkers

Hey Charlie! @emergencyawesome Alia Shawkat (Kh’ymm) is a main character and offered a stunning performance on The Old Man with Jeff Bridges which is a recent show on FX. 13:11 love the design choice of these droids having a literally security camera for a head which only hints further that this planet is basically a 1984 fully controlled environment with these droids acting as moving CC cameras
Does anyone wonder whether Wim's father might know more about the wider galaxy than he lets on? Like he might be a surviving member of that crashed, buried pirate ship the kids are in? Considering how he told the Safety Droids it's not safe outside the Barrier suggests he might know more about the wider galaxy than he lets on. The first two episodes also hinted that the pirate ship might be 'newer' that it appears with how it enterred Port Borgo without the automated gun turrets blasting it. Brutus asked his underlings how the kids' ship got past the port's gun turrets, suggesting that ship had a positive IFF transponder which is still valid, meaning it's not that old. Plus, the skeletons and stuff in the ship (and the food Silvo prepared and ate) appear to not be that old (like years or decades at most).
The episode title brings this to mind from Joe Versus The Volcano (1990), one of the greatest movies of all time, produced by Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, & Frank Marshall at Amblin Entertainment: LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Have you thought much about luggage, Mr. Banks? JOE: No, I never really have. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: It's the central preoccupation of my life. A real journey. JOE: And then I'll be staying on this island, I don't even really know if I'll be living in a hut or what. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Very exciting. JOE: Yeah. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: As a luggage problem. I believe I have just the thing.
This series is honestly a nice fresh tale in a galaxy that has kinda run the same sorts of stories for a while. I didn't think it would amount to much, but I'm actually enjoying it so far.
Crimson Jack could be a former Sith, Crimson is another name for red and during the escape he changes the door from blue to red before they escape. Thoughts? Atattin = Galactic mint/ bank planet. People keep commenting on the money the kids show off
He’s a character from the Marvel Star Wars comic who Han Solo killed in issue 15 in 1978. Disney brought him back on 2 February 2022 in the Halcyon Legacy comic miniseries.
The kids actually seem to work out what At Attin is for, while they are sitting at the table eating they work out their parents are all involved in 'finance' type work. 14:00 I'm pretty sure the Pirate Buddy when Captain Jack was getting SM-33, was on the exteriors of one of the taxis during the escape.... I thought he was coming with the Captain when I seen it live. Might need to analyze it more.
Their heads are gonna spin when they find out what has been happening in the galaxy. What I’d like to know is when they refer to “The Old Republic” which time period are they talking about? I’m asking this because in current Star Wars Cannon, there’s not a lot of information about the Republic before the great Sith Jedi War. I hope in their discussions with the kids that they’ll be able to figure out what time period the kids think they’re living in. Wim it’s going to be shocked when he finds out about order 66 and at this time the only known Jedi in the galaxy is Luke Skywalker and Asoka Tano, how many people in the new republic considers her to be a Jedi. We can’t put Ezra in this sentence because we don’t know when this actually happens before or after the Asoka show.
“Very interesting… as a luggage problem” is a line from the movie Joe versus the Volcano. I couldn’t find if that was in turn a reference to something else.
3:43 I think the talk of KB’s life monitor is also a piece of backstory, that KB is not a cyborg by choice, that her cybernetic implants have a medical purpose.
Charlie, first love ya work mate! I always head to your channel to get the debrief after watching an episode of something. 1. How is 'Palmer' a retcon if it wasn't ever previously mentioned... isn't it just new information that wasn't previously known before? A new planet/culture/language isn't a retcon, given there are 1,000's of planets/species in Star Wars and we don't know them all! I thought a retcon was only when established lore was backpedalled. Surely we don't know everything about the Old Republic? 2. Very frequently you talk about references made to past things. Like in this video, you talk about their escape 'meant' to give us vibes about Kenobi sneaking around the Death Star. There are usually several of them in every video and I vaguely recall you mentioning many moons ago how Hollywood loves it's call backs and references to the past. So when you shout out one of these... are they your own guess? Are they grounded in truth where the production team actually note them themselves? Or a mix of both? I'm really curious as to the answer and how you come across them all! 3. Secret Level break downs soon?! Please!!!
Ever since 1st episode their homeplanet has a strong culty ''everything is not what it seems to be kind of vibe''. So to naked eye it looks like a utopia but it probably is a dystopia.
Did anyone else notice KB called out to the X-wings and called them "X-wings". This was right before Jod did the truce with the kids, but how does KB or any of the other kids know what an X-wing is? They never existed in the prequels, nor did they in the old republic as far as I'm aware. Perhaps it was an error in the script or does it have a deeper meaning?
I’m kind of thinking that too. Especially since we saw Wim playing with a Jedi figurine and a sith figurine. By the time of the clone wars most of the galaxy didn’t even know what a sith was
I’m going to say it now, Crimson Jack is the biological father of REY. And he’s looking for her. Which makes him, Palps son. Probably through a test tube because I can’t see Palps getting it on. 😂
I though the writers clarified that with Old Republik they mean the Republik after the war against tue brotherhood. So the Republik until order 66 which stretches among approx 1000 years
I think that is the same Security Droid in all three scenes. The first two scenes are him walking to Fern's house to then enter and give the parents an update.
My first thought was Aughura, from _The Dark Crystal_ talking about the Great Conjunction to the "Gelfling." Then I thought of the owl from _The Sword and the Stone._
I'm having problems watching it with ads after every 3 or 6 minutes of show. Whether they can make it interesting enough for people to keep coming back week after week remains to be seen.
I hope that they explain Jude law’s real agenda in this season, instead of holding it off for a season 2 Cos that’s the problem with Baylan Skoll. His true reasoning and agenda was never explained by the end of Ahsoka season 1
My outlandish theory for this old republic world is that it is being run by a holocrine created by Reven too much old republic references the fact that John‘s helmet looked notoriously Mandalorian with a pirate hat glued to it. What if John is a descendent of Revan and Bastille and we get that rumored cameo of a Revan talking to someone

Ok. So I'm hooked. Great show. Finally a star wars series worthy of our time.
“Very interesting… as a luggage problem” is a line from the movie Joe versus the Volcano. I couldn’t find if that was in turn a reference to something else.
For a second there, I thought they were going to shoot down those new republic x-wings, lol.
They can be shot down, but they have deflector shields too.
3:43 I think the talk of KB’s life monitor is also a piece of backstory, that KB is not a cyborg by choice, that her cybernetic implants have a medical purpose.
Still not quite into this show but starting to warm up to it
Charlie, first love ya work mate!
So to naked eye it looks like a utopia but it probably is a dystopia.
hi Emergency Awesome
Hey there!
Correction: John was Paz vizla in mandalorian and Pre Vizla in clone wars
I think the lone security droids is just the one droid, the one that comes to the house making it even more weird like there is a curfew
If Fern's mom was really a boss, you'd think she'd give the briefing to the other parents?
Did anyone else notice KB called out to the X-wings and called them "X-wings". This was right before Jod did the truce with the kids, but how does KB or any of the other kids know what an X-wing is? They never existed in the prequels, nor did they in the old republic as far as I'm aware. Perhaps it was an error in the script or does it have a deeper meaning?
Sounds like At Attin may have been hidden away during the Sith Wars. Maybe will get a reference or two to Revan by the end of the series.
Nice theory!
So the Republik until order 66 which stretches among approx 1000 years
i think at this point of time of star wars, it is wild that Sam Witwer hasn't been cast as a John Wick type Jedi.
Jod Na Nawood "Jar Jar Binksed" his way out of that pirate space port
Alfred Molina is in the Star Wars universe
"Give me the idol; I throw you the whip."
I think that is the same Security Droid in all three scenes. The first two scenes are him walking to Fern's house to then enter and give the parents an update.
Didn't think I'd get into watching this ,but it's pretty good .
I was lowkey disappointed they didn't use the "exterminate" line when they showed the giant cannon at the pirate port.
I am getting Loki TVA vibes
Did Kh'ymm remind anyone of Archimedes from the sword and the stone?
My first thought was Aughura, from _The Dark Crystal_ talking about the Great Conjunction to the "Gelfling."
Then I thought of the owl from _The Sword and the Stone._
I really love this series. Just wish they were close to 1hr each episode
I'm having problems watching it with ads after every 3 or 6 minutes of show. Whether they can make it interesting enough for people to keep coming back week after week remains to be seen.
Also the sheltered vibe from the planet with all the security droids makes me think of THX-1138
So far the show isn't terrible thankfully. We'll see how the rest of it turns out.
At this point I would not surprised if the czerka corporation was involved somehow always has been a real shady company.
Thanks Charlie 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Charlie Charlie are you there ?
Yes we're doing it space goonies time
Yep! LFG!
They reallh got a PotC and Treasure Island reference with a single character's name 👏🏻
He is the captain at first episode opening that was searching for the gold!
I hope that they explain Jude law’s real agenda in this season, instead of holding it off for a season 2
Cos that’s the problem with Baylan Skoll. His true reasoning and agenda was never explained by the end of Ahsoka season 1
Crimson Jack is Han Solo's nemesis in one of the original 1977 Comic books.
I believe mysterious supervisor of an attin is the shadow council
My outlandish theory for this old republic world is that it is being run by a holocrine created by Reven too much old republic references the fact that John‘s helmet looked notoriously Mandalorian with a pirate hat glued to it. What if John is a descendent of Revan and Bastille and we get that rumored cameo of a Revan talking to someone
Crimson Jack was a space pirate and enemy of Han Solo in the old Marvel comics
This show is awesome
Life monitors are a reference to The Ewok Adventures and Battle for Endor, where the child characters wore life monitors
If Spielberg had done Star Wars.
I've been enjoying this so far.
Each episode moves the story forward.
Nothing seems to drag.
