- Hello my friends, and welcome to our Winter 2023 Newsletter!

We hope you had a beautiful holiday season, and are looking forward to an incredible year ahead. My winter season has got a lot of variety and I’m looking forward to each and every project.
Last month, I enjoyed a happy return to the Metropolitan Opera as Gilda, and this January I’m in Munich singing 3 performances of another Verdi role: Amalia in I masnadieri. I’ve had the privilege to sing this role a few times now, and it’s one that I find particularly captivating.
On February 4th, I’ll be returning to Salzburg to debut in Mozartwoche 2023, as the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem. I’m very excited to sing this piece again, as it’s one of my all-time favorites.
Then it’s off to Paris to return to another exciting role, Ophélie in Thomas’ immense opera, Hamlet. This new production stars Ludovic Tézier as the titular baritone, and performances at the Bastille run from March 11th - 30th.
I cannot wait to get started on all of these amazing pieces, each of which has a special place in my heart! Hope to see you at one of the shows ahead.
→ REFLECTIONS
As I look to the year ahead, it’s easy to get a bit overwhelmed, as I’m singing new roles, making multiple house debuts, recording an album, and returning to a few roles that I haven’t sung in several years.
There’s concert work, and my repertoire is beginning to spread out even more, with everything from Handel and Mozart, lots of Bel canto, Verdi, French opera, to Zarzuela. The only role I’m singing twice this year is Lucia, and both times it’s in a version I’ve never done: Once in the original keys at La Scala-Milano (more on that in the next newsletter!) and once in French at Aix en Provence.
It’s definitely not going to be boring!
I’m naturally a very studious person, but I don’t enjoy cramming new repertoire into a short learning span, so my pacing is going to be put to the test this year as I navigate all of these hurdles ahead. There’s no time to waste!
That being said, time management is something that I will have to be thoughtful about, as the stress of looking too far ahead can keep me from enjoying the moment and doing the best I can in the present. I’ll need to be reminding myself to “run the mile you are on” as I have in the past when running marathons.
It’s all about the journey.

You're gorgeous and one of my favorite sopranos. Love from Italy
My 15 year old son asked me to take him to the opera, and Rigoletto was our first ever experience with this amazing artform. We're both forever hooked and forever your fans Lisette! How fortunate we were to see you in on December 11th. Wishing you all the best, and looking forward to seeing you perform again live in the future.
wow there's hope 🤯
Lisette, my Covid experience will always be your incredible masterclasses that carried me through as a singer and you will always have an extremely very special place in my heart, thank you!!!!!!!!! Love you❤
Dear Lisette, I remember during covid you gave vocal master classes online for free. And I was there. And it was such a kind from your side to share your knowledge with lots of people all over the globe 🌎. Thank you so much.🥰
Have a brilliant and blessed 2023 year in all senses!
With love from Ukraine 🇺🇦❤️
My dream is to see you live -- anytime you'll be coming to Los Angeles? :)
The arts are essential, particularly classical music. Air, water, food, music. Not necessarily in that order. ❤
Dear Lisette, remember health is first. All the best wishes to you and family. Welcome to Los Angeles.
Happy New Year!!
I really enjoy this format❤❤❤
Happy New Year 2023 to tou and your family.
Thank you, Lisette. Happy new year to you and wishing you a very successful season.
And thanks for the Alcina production clips. It is my favorite Handel opera and I love every minute of it.
Kudos to you Lisette! We will see you in youtube...
You’re such an inspiration! ❤
Bienvenue à Paris 🥰🥰💃♥️
¡Feliz año y todo lo mejor del mundo para ti y los tuyos!
_I masnadieri_ 😍😍😍
👏
When were the "Alcina" performances? I noticed the stage curtain at the ROH still has the Queen's monogram embroidered on it.
People who do not meet the beginning, well meaning hopes of this video might become more depressed by those well meant hopes. Anywho…be well (sorry to the unwell)!
Mmmm... No children in those family gatherings? Well. You know how much we admire you and all your on-stage life! You're wonderful. But think of maybe fitting a pause to have a kid. I know it sounds crazy and if it's not what you want, that's OK. But if you've been thinking about it, like it seems to me it transpires from the number of times you said "no kids": Give yourself that chance!
We'll wait for your return right here, which, by the way, would be a return with a much enriched outlook. Having your own kids gives you so much more than you put into it. And I know that to be a lot. I have two.
Just a thought of an older Miami fan that follows you with admiration.
Be well,
Gabe.
Everyone wants to see the people they admire to have children.
This comment is wildly inappropriate
It’s sad that of all the exciting future endeavors she states in the newsletter that this is what you have chosen to focus on. It’s great that having children was a fulfilling experience for you. Doing the incredible work of singing which takes years of study and toil can be an equally fulfilling experience. We all derive meaning and purpose in different ways.
Beautiful. Now... how about some children!!? (I know, I know, performing). They will be beautiful, talented and multi-lingual! And give you a different kind of love. Mucha suerte, diva.
