what are your thoughts on the stalker community? in my opinion it's unfunny and toxic as hell. so many gatekeeping too. also a lot of people have played so many mods that they have forgotten what real stalker is. it used to be better before the gamma shit (not bashing the mod itself, it's great, but it has brainwashed people into believing it's real stalker)

Aside from "major details" such as ejection ports, animations, all weapons using the same bullet case sprites etc., STALKER series is probably one of my favourite gun experiences in games. It has some cool details like for example bullet ricocheting off hard surfaces which was pretty rare back in 2007. I really like the feeling RPG gives you. Its explosion is absolutely deadly within like 4m radius so i was always checking my surrounding so i wouldn't kill myself when firing it like i would do irl.
Weird how this one aims down the sights for pistols, yet Clear Sky doesn't.

These anims and sounds might be weak,but consider this.Apart from these animations looking plain cool due to that kinda robotic movement,remember that this game had relatively accurately represented weapons (apart from obvious stuff like mirroring and the names but they were just afraid of copyright claims and lawsuits) with nice descriptions that were actually researched and this was a time when almost every game still called magazines "clips" and made recoil look like a feature instead of a byproduct of operation with firearms, but in short I think that for its time this game had pretty realistic guns (okay the jamming is sorta bullshit (except for you, L85A1) and the front iron sights are literally potatoes) with proper recoil and nice looks too.

There's flaws and inaccuracies in some animations, like the bolt in the MP5 but I guess that's just an aesthetic choice by GSC

I heard that then putting the bolt on the left side was done on purpose to make the game feel more dynamic. Because having some of your screen getting blocked by an ejecting round would add some sort of mild panic I suppose.

The F2000 and the Gaus are top notch weapons to kill end game armored enemies.
The gauss is an amazing weapon, one of my favorite weapons in the game. This weapon reminded me of the Gauss Gun from the Half-Life 1 and 2, the Railgun from the Quake 2 and 3 and the Railgun from the GTA V. I like to use this type of weapon in games, it is all, have a nice day.

@@onikamis When did I say that the game is bad? You seem to think that janky automatically means that but it doesn't. It simply means a lack of polish in regards to bugs and animations. The gameplay and atmosphere of it is still fantastic and more than makes up for it

IMO what makes these rather janky animations surprisingly good is how on most of them the gun doesn't jump around the screen after the bolt has been pulled (a mistake made by so many animators).
You didnt add the smg that shoots 9x18. Its really nice early on when the only ammo around is 9x18
It's fun to see those original weapons with original animations and sounds. :) Still - never again.

In order to get TOZ-34 in ShoC, you have to make some changes in game system files. No wonder i could not find it anywhere

Fun fact: the Metro 2033 and Last Light devs actually stole sounds from stalker like the ak reload and stalker shadow of chernobyl released in 2007 and metro 2033 in 2009
Most of these are stock sounds and most Metro devs are from GSC who parted ways when STALKER SOC was in development hell
they didn't steal anything, both S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Metro uses Stock sounds from audio libraries that are free to use. Even classic Doom used stock sounds for sound effects, the infamous door opening sound for example can be heard both in doom 1, 2 and in an episode of Courage the Cowardly dog. Would you say that Courage stole Doom's sound effect? ofc no, lol.

Toz-34 actually doesn't exist in Shadow Chernobyl, but in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat it has.

The sawed off shotgun is so worthless in this game. Basically a melee weapon.

Văn Cường gsc was planning to add in ump p90 and skorpion as well. But they were rushed. This is why the story changed dramatically, we have no vehicles and you run like Bolt 2x in game. There were lots of more weapons that supposed to be put in. Revolvers, more ammo type, bolt action snipers, etc but they had to be left out. But also stalker has the best modding community, so if you want more smg just get a few mod.
