I love how they were talking about creating a visual with their music, and making it a place were you can escape the world. This is way I love their music tremendously, I enjoy getting stoned, close my eyes and listen to all their albums. It’s so interesting to visualize the songs and create stories with it in my head from listening to the lyrics, groove, and their tone. Lol for an example their song mountains of mars, my imagination can get lost in that song for hours on repeat. It’s my favourite way to just escape the real world for a night or two. I’m glad that the band focuses on creating this element in their songs
I like the way they use satanisim and witchcraft in their music, it's like a gimmnick, most people have their own imagines of these in their minds and the idea of make these imagines come while listen to Electric Wizard is brilliant for me. Get high on drugs and worship The Devil! Not the average black metal band that thinks that Satan actually exist and it's coming to punish christians and we have to worship him just for the sake of being "evil"... and in the end many of those bands are just lame. In that way I think that doom is darker.
yeah, I see what you mean there. i like some black metal bands not a whole lot though plus they wear all that corpsepaint and try hard to be dark and grim but doom bands seem more natural, especially the wizard.
Wow!! england has a fascinating history of heavy metal! i wish this interview was longer, the history of metal and its relationship with evil would be a fascinating historical book to read
Doom is metal. Doom metal is technically the first metal genre. Sabbath may not have considered themselves metal, but it was metal, and laid the groundwork for all to follow.
@@BSIII yeah, to me metal is anything that makes you want to headbang and gives you pleasure from heavy subject matter. There's also alot of symbology and metaphors especially with doom.
Interviewer: "...Why murder and drugs?" Jus: "It really goes back to what we grew up with..." i love that dude

..matt..damon..
Electric Wizard aren't kidding :)
Doom and sludge are the best metal no question
it's the authenticity that makes it darker, black metal is dark in imagery but doom is dark in sound and concept
So surprised this has so few an amount of views. This was a really cool and insightful Interview of the band. Thanks for the upload!!

They've never been a 'metal' band. Neither were Sabbath really. Doom is something else, a really heavy type of rock music.
Doomanoid1979 Metal is rock music.
Doomanoid1979 It's basically the blues cranked up and distorted
