Quality stuff. Well-thought out questions, well-articulated answers, a humble attitude from both and some humor thrown in for good measure. Thanks for sharing!
"The sickness of mainstream religion" ...ha, yes! The _Old Time Religion_ aspect is unfortunately by and large absent from most of the Doom bands nowadays. Being born in the late '60s, I grew up with my older sister listening to Sabbath, and in the '80s gravitated to the seminal Doom Metal bands (although back in those days that particular category tag didn't yet exist) and most of those bands - Pentagram/Death Row included - relied on a lot of Christian themes and iconography i.e. Saint Vitus, Trouble, Candlemass, etc. The Reverend Bizarre stuff is gold! ...aside from the use of Christian & Satanic themes they likewise incorporated Gnostic elements as well, which I find most interesting ...some of that also carried over into some of the material Albert subsequently did with Spiritus Mortis. Back in the late '90s and '00sI was a member of the old Hellride online forums, and recall the RB guys and the COTD - among other bands, RB had their own forum there - were accessible and comical. I still listen to RB all the time. While I seriously doubt this would ever happen, a Rev Bizarre (temporary) reunion record and supporting tour would be *MASSIVE* as RB - in terms of the mythology and legend of the band - are far more renown and popular in those heavy music circles today than they were back when they were a working band. Lastly.... re the phenomenon of _nice guys_ playing very dark art/music... that's typically how it works. For instance, Stephen King is a very personal, friendly guy, and not a maniac, ha. Many actors who specialize in villainous roles are often known for being pussycats in real life. It's silly to suppose that metal artists are some sort of dangerous boogeymen because of the dark music they play ...the exact opposite is more likely, if for any reason, those who are in touch with all sides of the human condition, and find ways to sublimate anti-social impulses through art tend to be better grounded than those who keep the unsavory aspects kept behind locked doors. Anyways... thanks for this interview! _Doom over the world!_
Thanks for the comment! Nice to hear some older guys like you watch the content on the channel. That being said, I passed your comment straight to Kimi via a message :) Cheers!
Had the pleasure of having Kimi, Sami and Christian Lindersson staying over during a lord Vicar tour some years ago (think their regular bassist was sick at the time as Sami played the bass).. cool stories and good beers.
This was a cool interview, cheers! As Reverend Bizarre have been one of my very favorite bands for nearly 15 years now, and I've been eagerly following the members' other ventures as well, I was positively surprised that there were several informational tidbits here that were actually new to me, hehe. Never connected the moniker to Cathedral's The Carnival Bizarre, for instance. Nor had I heard of that posthumous performance at a Greek wedding!
I have good news for you regarding this interview: Sami Hynninen interview is now also done. Though with that we don't talk as much about Rev Biz as here, but still might be interesting to you.
Thanks for this awesome interview and much respect to Kimi Kärki for all his work. Can you bring up the physical aspect (martial arts, weight lifting) in your interviews more often? I am a lifelong metal maniac and also into combat sports + weights. For me it's so obvious that this worlds are so connected. Keep up the good work!
Met Kimi at a gig up in the north if England, he was sitting down and I was so drunk I bumped my forehead to his, total gent and Lord Vicar ruled that night!
love this interview any info behind the mystique of reverend bizarre is always great. Do you think a Tom Angelripper interview would be good in the future I don't see many interviews with him.
Thanks for your comment! Glad you liked the RB interview. So, you mean you haven't seen my interview with Tom of Sodom? ua-cam.com/video/Vva_KAVHnjg/v-deo.html
@@7777jimbob Thanks. And yeah, he is! Right after we sat down he offered me a smoke (I don't smoke but couldn't turn that offer down when it was Tom who did that) and a jack with coke.
I believe the English term for the cultural heritage studies he speaks of, would be anthropology. there could be a nuance that I am missing - I'm just basing it on my interpretation of what he means by 'cultural heritage'.
@@RautaMetal yeahhhh, do you speak spanish?, Anyway, we do speak the fucking metal language, honor to you brother, please your comments of the metal scene from sudamerika, especially the bands from Chile
It is very interesting how all the og doom bands handled Christianity differently. Troubles adherence, WFG puritanical view, and Pentagrams sort of you, the listener are a sinner and should be in fear!

gammasulttaani Thanks mate and glad you liked it!
brilliant interview, the last 5 minutes were hilarious
Thanks Alex! Glad you liked it :)
I've missed your interviews over the past few months. Great to see you back at it and brilliant interview as usual!
Love Rev Biz and Lord Vicar, got me into Cardinal's Folly, for whom i produced their latest album sleeve. Such a great network of music and aesthetic.
Grande Reverend Bizarre, uma das melhores bandas de Doom de todos os tempos. Poderiam lançar mais albuns...
I love all Reverend but Cirith Ungol off In The Rectory is an absolute classic of the genre.
I am so grateful to reverend bizarre for their beautiful music. I’ll have to listen to more lord vicar

It's not out yet.
Great interview. One of the best on your channel. Maybe I have to get the rest of those Lord Vicar albums. Kind of neglected them, don't know why.
Thanks, lord Stenhammar!
Lord Vicar and Reverend Bizarre 2 of the best doom bands to walk on this earth.
Very nice. Was fun watching. Cheerz from Germany and *Ping*

Thanks. I can ask but as far as I know, most metalheads are not into this like you, me and Kimi. Have you seen my Blood Chalice interview?
Brilliant interview Jerry!
Now I'm interested too into discovering more about Kimi Kärki and his musical projects.
Thank you and cheers!
Thank you! Enjoy your dive into his musical world.
The interview could have gone on much longer. Thank you Jerry! This was a cultural act.

Very good interview!
Thanks. I hope you and me can do one, too, some day.
Great interview, Lord vicar are awesome but for me Reverend Bizarre are the best Trad Doom band ever. Cheers Rauta and Doom over the world🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Hello Rauta! Not sure if this is intentional or not but this video is unlisted. I could see it while I was going through your interview playlist.
Yeah, it is intentional as this video was meant for Patreon users only, not in public just yet. It will go public next week.

btw, trying to review the visual interview with Satanic Warmaster :/ wtf happened?
