Amazon sells joy stick caps. That's another fun way to customize your joy cons. They slip/snap on and off. It won't even void your warranty. I'm currently rock'n the pink paw print caps.
I ordered the blue skin for the Joycons and it is definitely lighter than on the website. However, they are not as light as what is shown in the video. They really are a darkish blue. I think Kevin's lighting makes them appear lighter than they actually are.
I would keep the neons (blue and red) and buy some gray ones and wrap them in green and yellow since that's literally been the standard color for buttons and player order in most of Nintendo's games
Decal girl skins have been working for quite a while and you can so both basic colors and custom artwork (i think they maybe cheaper but dont quote me on that) i have one for mine and it looks great the lack of wrap around the joycon isnt a huge issue if your joycons are grey/a solid color
pan shot usually just goes to the front with the slider and a little bit of rotation. this one is a little bit complicated, with the changing focus and little bit of complicated movement to be perfectly aligned is no simple matter.
When I first got my switch I was so careful and clean with it and I still am, I hate when people use the switch and misuse it in the process I’m like it’s soooo expensive

If it bothers you than the colors are different when you put the joycon con the switch (the click sound with the color) there's an app on GBATemp to change the color of the joycon via bluetooth
Big props to dbrand for issuing a PSA when they noticed the damage the adhesives caused. They weren't just grabbing the money and they showed they are thrustworthy.

The real question is how do they look when applied to a neon joycon? Seems like there are small gaps, works with grey joycons but the accents of the neon colored ones may not work in a lot of cases.

if you're referring to dbrand skins wearing the joycons after removal, that isn't an issue anymore. they partnered with 3M to revise the skin and the adhesive used to apply said skin. if you're referring to shell switches, i agree.
So I just purchased a full set of joy-con skins and I have a few choice words: I ordered glossy orange joycons and they look great! But the console... I have little patience and it looks awful so I tore off the front and kept the back. The dock looks pretty nice too, but the letter skins for the face are way too flimsy to put on easily. I recommend the joy con skins out of the full set, and if you don’t have a lot of patience, stick with only the joy-con skins. For a full set though, not bad for 35 dollars.

You would still see some color at the back of the joy-con, at the sides where you slide it on the switch, and possibly around some buttons like the shoulder buttons if you mess it up a bit.
Grey JoyCon would be best I think. But I can imagine that the matte white skins on colored JoyCons would look kinda interesting with the color showing around the edges a little bit. I think the tough part would be figuring out what color to make the rest of the pieces.
Myself, I like the more transparent look, but that of course you need to take apart the Joy-Cons. Did it once, and it turned out all right, but it will be a while before I attempt it again because I didn’t place the parts inside the shells properly, so they’re slightly open at the rails.
I have a sonic forces front skin for my joy-cons, I will permanently have them on once I get new joy-cons since the ones I have are breaking down a little bit.

There’s other skinning companies such as sticky bunny co and KO custom creations that have pastel themed sets, and will not destroy your switch
