- Today we take a budget approach to trying to gain performance in IRacing by utilizing our existing am4 platform and upgrading my cpu from the 5900x to the 5800 x3d? Did it work, we will find out!

I've just ordered the 5900x ;) those extra cores should do me great as yes I do lots of gaming but I also do lots of other things with my pc. The pc is almost 24x7 running a minecraft server and an unreal tournament 99 server too so I need a little more oomph :) I don't think the x3d would have been the better choice for my personal usage.
What's up Crash! I did the same thing. I swapped out my 5950X for the 5800X3D and saw the same gains in Games. Yeah, I could upgrade the entire system and get the 7800X3D, but NO. I spent way too much on what I am currently using. I will skip this current AMD generation and just make the most of this 5800X3D for now. Thanks for the Video and take care buddy!

Great to see you back Crash! I just swapped over to AMD on the GPU side and I'm seriously impressed. I didn't even go with a flagship card and I'm still blown away with it. Hell the software alone is leaps and bounds better than Nvidia. I may end up swapping over to them on the cpu side as well because of the experience with the GPU and software so far.
Which GPU? I've been hearing great things on reviews about how good they are!
Hey buddy, 5800x3d is a beast, specially with undervolt(Don't OVERCLOCK on x3d). Might have to look up how to do it on your mobo but my settings(stable) are:
Precision Boost Overdrive- Advanced(not auto)
PBO Limits- Manual
PPT 120
TDC 75
EDC 110
Curve optimizer-Allcores Negative to -30 (if you experience it being unstable, try -25 on each core)
Cpu boosts upto 4.4 instead of 4.2, runs +- 10 degrees cooler, and uses less watts,

If you need to keep one and only one for the best.... Which is better 5800x3d or 5900x? I have both but i need to keep only one. I want to go to the next gen on 2 or 3 years more. I think its not necessary to go to am4 for now. But please helpe me to choose the best
Do u primarily only game, 5800X3D, if you primarily content create, and ur software does not offload to your GPU, 5900X. Somewhere in the middle 5800X3D
Revisit BIOS settings after CPU swap. Make sure XMP still on. 5800x3d can like an undervolt too...can run cooler and boost higher, longer, and end up being faster than stock.
Yes xmp enabled, will explore undervolting ! Any suggestions?
5600x + 3070 right now single screen 32’’ 2k 165hz… upgrading to triple 32’s 2k next week so i have a 5800x3d (400$) and 5900x (350$) here locally, ill take the 5900x i guess and put the 50$ elsewhere haha! Also upgrading to a 3080

ryzen 7 5800x3d best for gaming, ryzen 9 5950 is good for gaming, multitasking and doing more than just gaming.
so if you are mainly gaming go with 5800x3d otherwise if you are doing more than that go with 5950
you can still and game stream with the 5800x3d

Hi crash just for reference I have a 13700 4090 and on triples 1440 running this bench with 30 cars I get 90 fps min with no OBS. My settings are almost all ultra high including shadows trees etc with which I get 144-165 fps in most tracks
I haven't checked without OBS, hope to get a chance later this week!

Maybe try AC, rFactor-2 and R3E just for curiosity, these are DX9 titles and seem to hammer the CPU while the GPU sits there not even breaking a sweat, I also have a 4090 and a 5900x, and for these titles, seems the 5900x is the bottleneck, my guess is DX9 has reached it's speed limit and cannot keep up with today's hardware.

I was running triple 1440p on my rig and had framerate issues. I swapped them out for triple 1080p and the diffrence is huge and in terms of visuals, when playing is no diffrence.
You have a great point there, but I cannot go back to 1080p.
Saying there's no difference in visuals between 1080p gaming and 1440p gaming is pure delusion

Hello Crash the video was just what the doctor order like you had a 5900x all core overclocked to 4650MHz but was still having the feeling I could get more performance with iracing so after seeing the results in the video I drop in a 5800x3D was a great move for me now when the 8000 series AM5 come out along with the 5000 series nvidia iracing will be even better.👍

sad thing is, and I run iracing also man...is that iracing is just not optimized like the others.....they need to redo that engine or somthing..
At 1440p and 4k it basically identical last gen in the newest for gaming especially when you have a high end GPU no need for the 7800 X3D
