I saw the movie with my dad, around the time when it came out. It really freaked the heck out of me. And I also looked up the true story behind it. In the movie, she was a British journalist, But in reality, she was a French journalist.
Oooh that first sentence piqued my interest. I loved Searching and enjoyed Unfriended. I will definitely check this one out. I hadn't heard of this one, thanks Austin.
Saw the movie today~ my 1st movie since Oct 2020. And yes, I did audibly gasp during one scene. My popcorn was eaten by the halfway point...it was a good movie to snack to!
Unfriended was ok. I didn’t watch the sequel. If you notice the trailer for that movie is basically the entire movie. I think Searching is on Sky Cinema in the U.K. so I’ll check it out if it’s still available.
Went with 4 other people to see this, 3 of them walked out. I’m not fan of this style but wanted to know what was going to happen. I enjoyed the story, just not how it was told
I saw the trailer for this last week (in front of the Dolby reissue of Scott Pilgrim), and assumed (incorrectly) that this must have been filmed during the pandemic! Fascinating that it's been sitting on the shelf for years. Can't wait to see it after your review!
Saw this on the list of theater films, and it looked interesting. Glad to hear it’s good. I just got out of Wrath of Man and it was crazy intense! Liked it a lot more that I thought I would.
This movie had potential to be OUTSTANDING and terrifying if they allowed it to be. I liked the build up from the beginning to the end, however, SO MUCH more fear could have been felt from her interactions with this guy. I was so disappointed with the ending even though many people say it was shocking and you wouldn’t forget it. Well I already saw what was coming and I totally forgot about it. I mean it could only end one of two ways. The way I thought it was going to end was her getting dragged out of her hotel room, taken to this guy where he would LITERALLY torture her, film the entire thing and then upload it to the news. I thought her boyfriend, coworker, her boss or even her friend might have been setting her up from the beginning. We got NONE of that. This guy should have been talking to her live and showing her killing and torturing people. Isn’t that what they do over there? I expected to be scared, TERRIFIED watching something like this. Sadly I was not. It was just watching two people chat over video, with SLIGHT tension at times, nothing crazy. Overall it was a bad movie and I’m mad I wasted my time watching it. I don’t recommend anyone watching this. I watch movies for a living, TRUST ME. Half the people who give this 5 stars saying it’s award worthy and it had them on the edge of their seat, they know NOTHING about good movies 👍🏾
Did she really fall in love with that Bilel guy? I mean she almost booked the ticket to Turkey, up untill she translated the last call. And also another reason was she started to distant herself from her bf as her conversation went on with Bilel
I think it was a great display of how difficult it is to share a heart intimately with multiple people. Also, remember when she was talking to her boss. The boss wanted her to bail, and she insisted that the better story would be the one that she ended up pulling off. It was all planned out, although her feelings did almost mess her up a bit. As you could see when she almost confessed to him about her identity.
My favourite movie of the year so far!
Brando nice!
PROFILE HU-AKBAR!!!
Same here
Watched this yesterday and I loved it! I think the fact that this movie is based on a true story makes it more interesting.

Was hoping this was a Netflix movie lol. Not sure if I really want to go to a theater for it.
Same this looks like a great TV movie
Try putlockers. Awesome flick.
Will give it a watch as soon as it hits streaming devices, here. Great Review, Austin!
Thank you!!
I might check this film out.
I’m skeptical about it being on the shelf since like 2018.
Those first 5 seconds made me add it to my watchlist instantly
Yep me too 🙂
I saw the movie today I felt like there was a lot of questions just unanswered
I got a screener for this tomorrow! I’m excited to check it out now!
Reaction to the initial opening bit:
What if I’m a big fan of Searching and hate Unfriended? 🤔
Haha you’ll like it! Much better than Unfriended tbh
They NEED to put the movie on demand or Netflix. I feel like I can get comfortable under my blankets and watch this
Saw this one tonight and while it had its moments, it’s nowhere near as good as Searching. Thanks for the review Austin
Looking forward to the review of love death and robots vol 2

Great video bro
Had some cool suspense, but I just couldn’t get behind the protagonists decisions and mind set. 6/10

Hey Austin !!! Can You Review The New Movie “Initiation” !!
It’s a great new clever slasher film that just released on VOD streaming.
Saw this on the list of theater films, and it looked interesting. Glad to hear it’s good. I just got out of Wrath of Man and it was crazy intense! Liked it a lot more that I thought I would.

It doesn’t seem to be on Netflix. Where did you guys watch it?
In the theaters
@@soumyavelamala9114 oh, ok
I left the movie theater halfway through haha, mainly because my friends said they were bored. Waste of 12 dollar since I paid 😂
'Ahabek!
