  • Patti shows you how you can steam a frizzy, heat damaged wig with steam to bring it back to life. While we suggest using a wig steamer which can be found here: www.wigsbypatt..., you also can use the steam setting on your iron. Be careful not to let the iron touch the wig! Keep it at least 1 inch away from the hair!

    I know this is off topic, but the way you add endearments brought me to tears. It reminds me of my grandma and it's just a time when I need things like this a little more. Thank you.

    Haha, that wig is awful! What a mess! Increcible that you were able to restore it. I'm learning so much from Patti. Such a shame with all the wigs I've thrown away in the past. Some of them could definitely have been saved.

    OMGah! I just love you for this! Although my (and my husband’s) favorite ever girl is heat-friendly, because I wear her so often, she’s become a tangled mess of frizz at the ends and due to her price tag I can’t just replace her every 4-5 months (ok, that’s actually stretching it a bit). So your tutorial has me singing that same tune you let out early in the video, lol, and I can’t thank you enough. New subscriber here! You (and this video) rock!

    I have a brand new wig that I paid a lot of money for ($500). But I wear it everyday and I only have the one wig. The ends are super nasty dry, tangled and frizzed like the hair on an old Barbie doll that was abused. But my wig is not heat resistant and it is curly. Will steaming it ruin it? And will I lose the curls? It is Avalon by Estetica.

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  Рік тому +2

      Those ends wear out super quick on a longer wig. You can use steam. I would suggest using a handheld steamer instead of the iron. Steam is considered wet heat which you can use on regular synthetic. Heating tools like a flat iron are dry heat and damaging to regular synthetic. While you can use steam on your Avalon to improve the fiber, it will remove the curl. That said, you can add curl back by putting in rollers and applying steam. A steamer is a synthetic wig's best friend!!! It basically works as a styling tool. You might also try the Envy Renew and Repair spray. It really helps with tangling, frizzing, and that rough texture.

    I am new to wigs. I’ve been wearing a non-heat friendly synthetic wig for 2 weeks now. The nape is already starting to frizz. Is that normal?

    • @Wigsbypattispearls
      @Wigsbypattispearls  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Natalie! Yes, it is very normal for any synthetics to frizz after wear, especially if it is a longer piece that is constantly rubbing against clothing, chairs, car seats etc. You can use a silicone wig spray to prevent this from happening as quickly. We recommend Envy's Renu and Repair Glosser Spray, found here: www.wigsbypattispearls.com/envy-renu-and-repair-glosser-spray.html
      You can use a silicone spray before wear, and then a detangling spray after you take it off (or vice versa). This will help it not happen as quickly. Once it does happen, you can use a steamer to smooth it back out😊

    • @Wigsbypattispearls

      This is for both! Steam is a wet heat (not a dry heat) so it's safe for both fibers.
