As always, the information you present is clearly explained, and the demonstrations with the different types of fibers as well as straight versus wavy are so helpful in understanding the verbal explanations! Honestly, I have learned more from you than from anyone else I've tried to watch!! I'm so completely intimidated about all of this that your kind, patient, humorous approach makes me relax and actually absorb the info without immediately panic thinking, "I can't do that!" 😕 ❤
Thanks, Amanda. I have to offer a technique I have used in the past for straight wigs. I have dipped the ends in water(no more that 2-4 seconds at a time) that has been boiled and set aside for a while. I use the same method with a fine-tooth comb before and after the dip. I continue to dip 3 or 4 times until I feel that the comb slides through easily. Fiber is then poker straight .
Can you clarify? You dip the ends in boiling water for 2-4 seconds and set the wig aside? And you dip a fine tooth comb in the boiling water before running it through the wig? I am confused LOL
Thank you didn’t realize the two I bought one from Gabor and one Rene of Paris. Wasn’t heat friendly kind of frizzled the bangs with the hot iron . But I can use the I have that blower from my own hair which don’t have now .I can use with water and blow on low setting cause it kept falling in face
Hi Amanda! Great tips, thanks!! Wanted to share something I recently tried on a synthetic, ready to throw out, very expensive wig. I had nothing to lose. It kept running through my mind that wigs are basically plastic. I got my spray bottle of Clear Dawn and spritzed it on the outside and matted parts of my dry wig. Then I rinsed my wig with the spray nozzle on my sink. It came out looking new!!
I had a wig that I wanted straightened I laid it on a plain towel, covered the hair with a handkerchief and used my regular hand iron over the covered parts of the wig and it worked just fine
Great video!!! can’t wait to try ! I’ve never added water before using heat on my heat friendly fiber wigs. I wonder why this makes a difference? Hopefully you could answer this for me.
@@MarinaLaroche Both are from Amazon. My hair straightener is the brand Techmeri. The hot air brush I specifically got doesn’t exist on the link anymore but if you search “blow dryer brush,” they are all similar 😊
ⁿI have used several different brands of hot rollers, WITH PROPER THERMAL HEAT PRODUCT & ENDS WRAPPED IN SETTING PAPERS FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. I do leave the rollers in to set cool, and be styled when completely cool and I have a smooth- ended frizz- free style with no crunch! You can buy Conair, Baby Bliss, just to name but a few! I never used a steamer, as to avoid damaging the "knots" @chiquelwi😮gs
Does the wig have to be freshly washed for this to work correctly? Are there any drawbacks to this method if not freshly washed? Thinking of when I need to touch up ends on Simmer mid week and there might be some wig wax or silicone spray already on those fibers.
@@TryingToAdapt no, it doesn’t have to be freshly washed but if there is a lot of buildup from product, it might be a good idea to wash and remove it first.
