Craig, big difference between the pontiac and the others. This is a Holden Monaro, built in Australia. Independant rear suspension etc. They are pretty good, well built cars. I do agree about the Hummer, someone has screwed with it probably not knowing how to drive them. I am interested to see what they claim is wrong with it.
I liked how you tipped auctioneer. I do a ton of auctions and always top the fork lift driver. Always. usually 10-20 bucks depending on how much I get. The guys have always shows my loads respect, get to me first and have even helped me secure the loads. It's amazing how much someone can turn from just a "employee" where you do business to something close to a friend. Just for showing them a little respect and kindness. It works on me also. When a customer does not give me absurd offers, nit pick etc, I always cut them a break. Also something else i have learned. EVERYONE, every single individual selling a car on marketplace, is a lier. So as a buyer it takes me so much longer doing a deal because i have to make THEM wait while I do my due diligence because I know they are lieing about some details.
When you play with the transfer case on an h1 sometimes it decides to act up, you have to firmly place it in where you want it. I’m guessing during all the auction play, a c clip fell off the linkage and now it is only kinda in gear, you combine that with the guy probably saw the cars and bids thing by now…watch your checkbook.
Props to you for making an effort to take care of the guy when the Hummer was having issues, we need more of that in the car business. I’d be really curious to find out what the issue is!
Honestly I think the guy knows he paid to much and wants out of the deal. People at auctions are shady don't assume because you're willing to do right everyone else will.
You deserve every success Craig. Offering to help with the Hummer is a very kind gesture considering that there's 'no backsies' at the auction and that's made very clear. Hopefully it's not too much of a headache, but looking forward to hearing how it resolves and excited about the C8. Great video.
He has all the video proof that it drove fine and has no issues. The buyer definitely broke it or swapped parts off it with his own broken parts. The buyer is trying to pull a scam. He should just send the buyer the link to the video.
@@common_c3nts He definitely has the video proof that the car ran and drove. But if it never made it out of the Auction yard then it's probably not a scam - just unfortunate circumstances. I still wouldn't be surprised if the guy missed a setting/gearing or otherwise though .

Great video. Looking forward to the update on the hummer. That is very unfortunate for the buyer and for you but i commend you on trying to do the right thing.
Love your content and watching all the car stories, very interesting. Can you update us on the Hummer?? I own 5 GM vehicles and there is always something going on.
Yeah, if he literally drove it twice, once with wife and once with son…it probably wasn’t enough to discover the “real reason” the last owner of the vehicle “got rid of it”. Flying Wheels did not mention *any issue(s)* that were discovered with this Hummer. If you’re buying auction vehicles, would it be reasonable to *expect* there to be some obvious and/or hidden reasons the vehicle turned-up at the auction in the first place?
It's good to have a plan B when the online auction is not beneficial. Good to learn that. I believe the disclosure of bids is not useful when it is below the asking price and useful when it is above. I would say the stressful part of selling at dealer auction is the deadline. Because it puts pressure on the seller. (The buyer can always retract without fees)
I feel the same way, I shipped one of my friends from another state a free gaming PC, and it broke on delivery, so I bought her a brand new one, I don't like being let down by myself. 😄I'll fix the old free PC and give it to a friend... It does not make sense to permanently show bids for a car that did not sell. If the auction did not get the visibility to meet their own appraised value and reserve then they should not list the bids. They can keep it up but they should only list the reserve number and say bidding did not hit the reserve. There is no point in a reserve if they are going to show the whole world that the highest bid was significantly less which then will devalue the car when trying to sell it in the future. There are a million reasons why they did not get at least 2 of the right bidders to bring the price up to meet reserve.
Craig is going to have a hit put out on his head by Doug Demuro and Tyler Hoover... Tyler doesn't like it when people bad-mouth "Daddy Doug" or Cars and Bids... 😂😂😂
Great video. Curious to hear what the new Hummer owner finds but also, kudos on going the extra mile. On the Cars and Bids stuff, their thoroughness is great but being that slow may eventually put them out of business. In regards to keeping history on auctions, I think there is some relevance to that, although buyers have to understand that prices/demand fluctuates often... especially on rare stuff. I would bet someone either knowingly or unfamiliar with the Hummer did something to damage it. No way you could drive with no issues, no warnings on the dash, no problem onto the Auction lot and then suddenly when it's in someone else's hands it magically breaks.
Great way to move the Hummer on... car sold as is... whatever the case this is a good way to sell the car... Good on you helping the buyer, it will come back to you in good Karma!

Well, cars and bids is set up for the private seller, not the dealer who is trying to profit. It is a good alternative to getting a lower trade in offer.

I love automobiles, but things like that hummer auction issue is why I would NEVER want to get into reselling cars. Alot of the big auctions will fine the buyer for phony arb requests. Even green light in lane is sale day arb only.
Most men having a civvy Hummer speaks to a self-confidence issue. Just sayn'
12:50 - "I'm glad I could bring something that gets everyone all excited" - my wife said something very like that on our honeymoon :)
“It does everything” except get good fuel mileage lol. Looks sweet though
What happened to the hammer? Love the new corvette
I can't believe you got $55,000 for that BOAT ANCHOR...somewhere someone is going to loose a lot of money on the anchor.
It sucks when people who know they are buying red light call to bitch after the checks are sent out. They need to actually live in the world they are in. If you sign up to be a WWE wrestler, chances are you are gonna get a chair to the head. It's just reality.
Used car saleman wins again. never seize to amaze me how unethical they are
@@xGlobs what are you talking about, your comment doesn't make any sense.
@@xGlobscease... not seize
off topic, sold a laptop "broken, dead" on eBay, buyer complained when it arrived "it was working"
Well, cars and bids is set up for the private seller, not the dealer who is trying to profit. It is a good alternative to getting a lower trade in offer.
I would have sent him a copy of the video with you driving to the auction showing all well.. clearly someone played around with it whilst in the auction's grounds.
been enjoying these vids bud. literally went and made an offer on a car lot by my house last night, getting back into the swing of things and these videos are catching me up on auctions- really appreciate the content man!
Awesome show Thanks.😊
Are you going to make more trips to Florida for more toys? They seem to do better in your area.
Thanks for keeping it real. I am saving up to start being a dealer in 2024!
I love this podcast videos.
"I don't like people to know what the bids were" lol
That corvette is awesome!
Crazy for a truck to break in 24 hours without any warning
considering it drove through the LANE fine. For all we know buddy tried to force it into drive without putting his foot on the brake or something like that.
It seems pretty suspicious.
Guy owns a broken Hummer now. He can fix it and move on with life.
I agree that cars & bids is doing everyone a disservice by leaving up the unsold listings. They seem to be trying to bring down car values
I love automobiles, but things like that hummer auction issue is why I would NEVER want to get into reselling cars. A lot of people purchasing a used car from an auction or privately become entitled Karen’s and because you sold a car you’re supposed to become their full time problem solver. Every car I’ve sold privately I’ve explained everything good and everything wrong with a car to such an extent I don’t get a call back, but it still happens some times
People are bringing in the buses all the way from Brazil, but not from Mexico and Mexico is connected.
Auction results are permanent. That is how every serious auction house in the world works.
I dont see a link for Piston to Pedals
great stuff thanks
Which auction did you the hummer at?
Aww would've liked to see the RS6 on the channel
I suppose the seller is not required to disclose at the auction that the Hummer does not drive over 50 mph.
