Loving the auction content, I enjoy the banter between you and your dad. It's insane what some of these cars are selling for.
The first movie you asked about with the Enzo was called Redline. The second with the yellow 355 was Boiler Room.
well done
There was also a yellow 355 in The Rock, Cage steals and crashes it! I think the consensus was that one was a kit car!
I freaking love the car community! Better yet how every car guy that comments on this post almost all starts off the same way or similar in saying how lucky and blessed you are to be hanging out experiencing this moment and many others like it with your Dad. How cool he is and how great he looks! I think it is fair to say that it’s every car kid's dream to one day do stuff like this with their dad. Unfortunately, I don’t get that chance, but I’m living vicariously through you and your dad, and I couldn’t be happier for you and can’t thank you enough and tell you how much of a fan I am you. Your channel, and the content you create! Thanks!
I was once that guy, but unfortunately, my dad decided to go his own way & quit buying cars! Yeah it sucked, but it is what it is!
I never comment but had to say how cool of you to get to go to the auction with your dad. Keep up the great work Craig
I used to own a car lot with my dad and brother back in the day. It was a sweet deal, but greed got the best of my pops and we dissolved the business!
Undercover Brother, haha I immediately thought of that movie set crash when I saw that Ferrari!
Nope, the Movie he wrecked the Enzo in was called Redline, same actor different movie
Craig, great video but audio is difficult at times. Someone else has probably said something but just wanted you to know! Thanks for all your great material! You are one of the best car content guys bc of your genuineness!
I would be so lost at such an event. Thanks for sharing this experience with your Dad.
All content with dad or pops is great. Miss my dad, enjoy every moment.
Mecum in Orlando is too expensive. Too mamy people with too much money. Kansas City is the place for deals you are looking for>
Phone and online bids exist.
Too Many Self-Indulgent Wieners In This City With Too Much Bloody Money.
@OrangeCayman520 I don't think that changes the fact that the original commenter said it's too expensive there.
Plus, it would be pretty tough for me at least to buy a car I hadn't seen in person.
Could you have registered that salvage title Bentley in NH? I’m from Amherst NH, moved to Fort Lauderdale and would buy a salvage title car, scares me too mych
Love seeing all the cars! I actually have a 78 Mustang II Mach I with the 5.0. Even though it's a hated era of Mustangs, I get so may comments and looks with it---and not negative ones either. They sold so many of them and were popular during those years. I bought mine out of nostalgia as my parents had one when I was a kid. It was the car that got me into cars, believe it or not.
I'm on the west coast, bought a 95 short Chevy airbagged ol show truck 95k miles too custom for most, Lay's frame, I love your content...always wondered about traveling coast to coast, I pick cars and trucks and cook awesome food.
Boiler room is the movie with the yellow 355. I absolutely love that movie! “You’re either slinging crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot”
The big white is a 250es big red wit the maiers plastic kit. I bought a white 250sx plastic kit from Maier's and it cost around $1000 CND once shipped up from the USA
Honda ATC 250R 1985 1986 AND SAME FOR350X BEST 3wheelers ever made period. The difference between the 1984 250 r and the 1985 was like going from a chevette to a corvette .
fun story, My friend used to work for a guy that bought wrecked cars and then rebuilt them and flipped them. The wrecked ENZO was bought by him and redun then sold. He had a fender from that car that was signed by eddie, amongst other various carbon body parts from that car
Yellow 355 was in Boiler Room and also "The Rock" with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage
Craig, contact Kaplan cycles or the New England motorcycle museum here in CT.. if you're looking for a three-wheeler they are the best in the world at finding old bikes. I'm sure they could help you out..
My first car was a 74 Gremlin X. Bought it brand new for a tick under 3 grand. It was white with and orange stripe along the side. Levi interior. I had one on order, blue with the 304 and 3 speed tranny but
My mother had a 1971 Mac One in canary yellow. I remember driving around in that car. Like it was yesterday.
@18:15 Think I am in love. LOL - I would love to own a Z01 at some point in my life but as it is going now, I feel that is never going to happen and will remain just a dream.
What is the old saying? "As soon as you drive away with your new car, you are already in the red and it is worth less then you just bought it for.
My all time favorite Mustang...1969 Fastback w/ either a 351 or 428 colbra jet. What a car !! The 70 is basically identical with the exception of the motors because they had so many 69's left over and they called the 70 a Mach One !
Fun channel. Watching you learn the auction game is fun. My families been participating in the auctions for over 20 years.
I've been to the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee a few times prior to 2020. My biggest challenge with the Mecum event is that if there is not a specific vehicle you are interested in is when to go. Do you go at the beginning , in the middle, or at the end of the auction. I think there are still some deals to be had if something you like is running late in the day during the week. Just to bring good shoes!
My fav? 2006 Chevy pickup.i have one with 275k on it. Dependable, reliable, totally bulletproof!
Just a good all around work truck!
The red corvette "custom" you point out is a copy of a GM factory race Corvette called a GS. There was a coupe version and the real ones were full racecar under the body. GM answer to the Shelby Cobra roadster. Factory sold the project when the factories banned racing. George Wintersteen raced a similar GS in 1966-1968, his was white and blue, famous car.
When Dad told Craig that Adam was his favorite!!🤣🤣🤣
Yea, that was hilarious. 😂
January Kissimmee auction is amazing, great coverage of your visit. Plan to be down there next year!
Your father is correct, the Boss 429 is a hemi motor. Too bad the hood wasn't open because the heads are huge.
My current favorite on UA-cam. Always on the look out for new content. Keep up the good job
Craig, I love your coverage at Mecum, but please get your audio figured out when you're inside and competing with the auctioneer.
That woman behind you wasn’t happy with you lol
Yellow Ferrari ….Boiler Room! “Yo, rizzi’s the color!”😊😂
With shipping cost to & from the Mecum Auction, if it doesn't sell. Plus any "Listing Fee", you could easily add $3-4k to cost basis. Do it a few times, and need an extra $10k just to recoup your loss.
Hahaha! In 2000 the "Boiler Room" had a 1996 Yellow Ferrari F355 Spider.
Also, the movie "The Rock" with Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery, and the chase scene that stole the show as Cage was behind the wheel of a 1996 Yellow Ferrari F355 Spider, tearing up the streets of San Francisco and totaling the car in the process.
Thanks for the experience to see all these great cars & trucks Craig ...from SC
Grew up in a Buffalo 'burb - good thing cuz your Dad is someone I'd have partied with. Except for the exotics (70s we didn't see many in Rustville) EVERY CAR he looked at turned my head! Best BF had a 70 Chevelle SS 396 grey/black....my 1st car (at 18) was a Grabber Blue Mustang 6 cyl but Sportsroof. 2nd 73 Gran Torino new, one car I dated was bright yellow 74 Vette..waited for over a yr, totalled at 600 mi. YEP..loves the good stuff just like your grandpa. Sure I'm not the only fan of your Dad & his Dad!
They also used a Yellow Ferrari 355 Spider in the movie “The Rock” with Nicolas Cage & Sean Connery, great video
well done
10:30 That's crazy my heart would have jumped out of my chest if that happened to me 😂
dam your lucky to have a cool dad like that and unlike my dad who left me nothing he gave you his same great head of hair lol
Pretty Nice WINDOW SHOPPING !! 😂👌🏼
I believe that Cosworth Vega was from the Curious Cars channel ...
I liked the 60’s, 70’s room, love those cars.
My sister had the “Farrah” mustang, same paint and all back in the 80’s. She drove that thing everywhere and to hell and back, it was her baby. When the engine finally went, she begged my dad to rebuild it but it just wasn’t worth it. It got parked at the farm and slowly rotted away.
That yellow Ferrari was from a movie where a California You Tuber burned it to the ground. That one was black though.
the boiler room. Love the movie
Rizzo's the color
50 cent's 'you aint no gangsta' is one of the songs on the movie. This is before he blewup and signed for Eminem and the doctor
It's nice to know that when your kids step out of line that they get told they aren't the favorite.
Walked right past that 600 Pullman
The 4 liter in the Shelby was the Oldsmobile motor from the Aurora
Yellow 355 in Boiler Room. Great movie!!
Buying a car at auction, a flop. Spending time with your Dad, priceless.
Your dad was right Mercury racing development is the one who designed that motor
The C4 ZR-1 was designed by Lotus Group a automotive engineering consultancy connected with Lotus cars who GM owned at the time
@4:21... I love the golf cart parked next to the "no golf carts" sign. '89 is the 25th Anniversary Edition. They're the most valuable year. They're easy to spot because they have lovers instead of scoops behind the windows. @31:55... It's an Olds V8. Similar to the one in the Aurora. @35:00... The GTS is rarer. It's a better car, and this one is blue/white, which gets more money than red. @37:00... The LT5 was designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine. Yeah, I'm an encyclopedia of useless car knowledge. I've been storing this info in my head since before Wikipedia existed (since before the internet).
You know your brother Adam....lol.
Dude, your Dad and my Dad MUST have taken " how to be a Dad" classes together because mine has said the same thing to me.
i can almost guarantee your father never had stress looks great for his age
Ford Taurus SHO Engine was a collaboration with the Yamaha corporation. That motor was so strong Ford had to de-tune it due to torque steer. That motor is good for 200,000 miles plus.
I woulda tried my hardest to get that red Silverado if I had money like that. Cleanest 06 I’ve ever seen ever.
Thanks for showing the inside of the auction. I always wanted to be at one.
Do you ever go to the Monday auction in Orlando fla? I used to go every week back in the day! The last 2 lanes are red carpet and for big $ cars only! I saw the most badass Toyota supra 1/60 that would outrun any production car of its time! This was way back in the day! But it was still such a huge auction and we'd get there at 6am, the auction starts at 10 or 11, but we checked All the cars throughly, so we knew exactly what we was buying when it came through the lane!
We have 18k on on A-spec and really like it a lot. Test drove the Type S and could not justify it. For under 60k the A-spec is truly the best value. We have the red leather with black cloth inserts, which really make it look and feel premium. Going to miss seeing this parked at the far end spot at Costco like the baller you are!
The 355 in yellow the rock about alcatraz what a stunning colour not many cars look beautiful in yellow 😍 and it was a lotus design engine for the c4
Very cool. We bought a 1996 Chevy Silverado at Mecum Dallas a couple of years ago and it was a great experience. The Mecum team is wonderful. But yeah anything nice is selling for dumb money, :)
The Shelby series one has Oldsmobile aurora, platform
The captions !!! Aaaarrrrgggghhh. Love the content Craig. The captions do my nut in. Lol
Blue/White Viper GTS was my dream car too. Luckily I got it a few years ago before prices jumped!
@OfficialFlyingWheels.seems scammy 🤔
"You know your brother Adam obviously, right? He's my favorite." 😆 😂
Flat PLANE crank on that Z06 - not a plain crank.
You and your dad should have stopped by the Greater Atlanta Auto Auction on your way home. You could have scored some goid rust free cars. We have all sorts of stuff.
Hey can we get the guy editing the video to put the correct number on screen that is said? 😂
Guys, I just spent a 7 day trip visiting New England from Florida. It's been a blast here. And on my last day, I went to see Craig at his Flying Wheels Dealership in Danville.
I have to say, meeting Craig was like seeing a real-life celebrity. Despite his success and social media fame, he was actually so humble and kind, just like he is on screen; just like I knew he would be.
Craig offered merch, a sport bike ride (weather wasn't permitting), and even posed for pictures with me.
He spent time chatting and showing me around the lot in the cold, despite the fact he was busy and at the tail end of a long work day.
Craig is the real deal! He takes care of his customers, his family, and even a complete stranger-- a young Navy Veteran like myself. Heck-- he personally and quickly answered the shop phone in the morning himself. These days, that's a feat itself!
Over the week, I went to Boston, the big University, Salem and many amazing places here in New England, as I've never been up here before.
And I can tell you, having such a genuine and wholesome surprise interaction with The Flying Wheels boss man really made this vacation one of the best I've ever had.
That being said, with kindness and hard work each and every day, I am absolutely positive Flying Wheels is destined for great things.
I'll be posting the pictures I got yesterday on Instagram @lt_dan______
Thanks again for everything Craig!
-Phillip
It's a great place to sell.. But not to buy..This action is basically retail +.If you are looking for a one of a kind car this is the place and you will pay for it.. I think the coast to sell is 10% + listing fee and the time of day and the weekend will be more you pay.. Not a fan of Mecum..
Sorry if it’s been said before but a the very end of the video in the background wasn’t that Wayne Carini form chasing cars??
Love the videos very interesting to see the price difference between there and Here in the uk!
Lmaooo "freezing cold" with no snow on the ground 🤣🤣🤣
Craig, I like the cars that aren't so common. There are too many Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs at shows and auctions. Give me the Courgars, Buick Gran Sport, 63-65 Rivieras, 66-67 GTO, Javelin, AMX.
I got 2 cars for 2500. A Toyota Prius 2010 and a 2011 ranger. I only got the title for the prius and the other car apparently was still owned by dealer. Well the guy lied and said the prius qas good and he had to find the title for truck... nope he dipped to idk and I had a prius with a bad headgasket
I stumbled across this video..."Who ARE you that is so wise in the ways of science?" Just listening to you talk you tell you're young " It's never going to go down in value"....live another decade and see if you're still thinking that way.
I had a 185S, loved it, but a lot of bumps and scrapes.
These auctions are crazy, I’ve seen beautiful cars puff blue smoke when running up to auction. Guys running around with jump packs to start some of the cars. Some are works of art and some don’t belong
You are correct Mercury Marine built that motor for Chevy that was very exotic inexpensive motor back in the day a lot of the lLs is because of that motor
Great video, I really enjoyed it! I'm sure you did as well getting to walk around and enjoy all of those cars with your father.
The women @20:02 was so uncomforted by you filming 😂😂
I like the 455 HO TRANS AM, got biggest speeding ticket of my life in Alaska in one in “85
Definitely a great day to be alive! Lol love that song!!
Lol 15 minute video nope 39 minutes and change thanks great content,so many amazing cars next to Excellent advice
Glad you enjoyed it
that red corvette was a grandsport, one of the greatest vettes ever made
Love the videos with your your family, next time You, your dad, Papa Al, and your brother need to go and make a video
The F355 Spyder, yellow, was also featured in "The Rock" and driven by Nick Cage. Got all smashed up!
Love them all, but I’m an Italian from NY. I saw a 1977,78 or 79. Oldsmobile 98 regency coupe in the background!!!!
The name of the movie is Redline. What happened to that enzo was sad. At least someone restored it, and it's priced at 1.3 million.
I bought a brand new Honda atc200X. It would move plenty fast with my 240 pounds on it. It was fun racing dirt bikes with more CC's and beating them.
If no one has answered , 80'S - 90'S Corvette ZR-1 engine was design by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine.
Please get information on what some of the ATV’s and motorcycles went for? Love to see that kind of inventory ❤
They sold before I got there
@@FlyingWheels just curious, that’s all. It was worth a shot to ask, maybe next time. Take care, and enjoy the winter break in Florida brother 🤙🏻.
The Ford 429 boss needed a little tweaking when brand new but you would beat everything
The 4.0 V8 in the Shelby is the Olds Aurora V8 that was used in the Aurora sedan and a hotter version was used in IRL cars.
I’ve been at Mecum the last 10 years I’ve never seen prices like I saw this year off the charts
The Corvette ZR-1 had an engine designed by Lotus. There is a great UA-cam documentary about it.
Lol when I saw the title I thought you made it to 100,000 in the Ferrari flip 😂
I did
Love your videos. I kept looking to see if I could spot me and my friend Greg. lol!
Your "vlog" illustrates why I stopped doing Mecum Auto Auctions. Years ago they were "affordable", or catered to the average guy verses Barrett Jackson, today they are on the doorstep of Barrett Jackson, Naturally the "crowd" and the size of their checkbook has grown as car prices, collector value has increased, but yes 100K is "chump change" at Mecum. The very first, second day are where the "bargains" are typically, if there is such a thing in today's world. It's "fun", BUT costly!
The old Ford muscle cars always bring the highest dollar
If just wanted to spend a 100k “frugally” than I’ll walk right pass the Enzo too 😂
