SNSD's comeback was one of the best things that happened in 2022. Fans were eagerly waiting and also their performance on Music Bank had a lot of positive reactions. The song being *Nostalgic* was absolutely good since they came back from a 5 year long hiatus, the song gave us the early memories of them to remember once again.
Yet To Come was also a song that hits *Nostalgia* on the face. The MV was a roller coaster of memories.

Neither BTS, nor snsd made these songs to chart( i meant those songs were just for fans). Snsd already proved and worked so hard for so many yrs, BTS were dropping hits after hits without a break for many yrs. They just made the songs to rewind memories and for fans

Let's be honest people will only call it bop or flop if it charted higher or it have a good number of views or if it came to such big artists. However, people always need remember that we kpop fans should evaluate according to the quality of the song. Nowadays people will call it good if it is catchy even though the lyrics are bad and poorly written. Yes people have music preference but we should also be objective.

i don’t think “Girls” was flop. It’s amazing and addictive song for me but “Savage” was just too good comeback.. this whole album get people to have really big expectations for their next album bcuz it was incredible song that get a lot of people in the fandom.
But honestly i think it was some strategy made by SM. I really believe that SM with “Girls” made us to have lower expectations, so their next comeback will be massive and a lot more exiting that every other comeback they have.Something different but also in their concept.

Again, SNSD's comeback isn't for the casual listeners. Sones cried so much watching the MV. it's not just a typical comeback for a show. SNSD's comeback is a celebration. For a casual listener they may not appreciate it but we sones do so much and that's all that matters since that's tye point of the comeback. Plus, if you listen to the whole album, there are way more catchy songs like Villain which I believe a lot of new fans would like but still SNSD chose the title track which has a deep connection to fans because again, this is for SONES. Casual luisteners are welcome to listen but we don't expect you to like them at all. For 5 years, we waited, but SNSD waited for it too. This comeback is more than enough knowing that SNSD did their best to set their different schedules given that they are from 4 different companies now. So, SNSD is not for a competition or awards. They have been there, they have done that. Legends forever.
I think people just need to learn to appreciate that they did a comeback, after 5 years, celebrating their 15th anniversary as 8. That in itself is more than what we could've asked for. We were given an album, which again, featured all 8 of them, where they all sounded amazing.

In my perspective , Pink Venom is just okay. The music is good but the point is reused so many times. There was nothing new in the lyrics, styles or song structure. I expected a lot more from them because they has been in a really long hiatus and there're many things in their life to talk / write / put in a song. Moreover, the lyrics were a little bit meaningless overall which makes me think that this comeback is nothing but beautiful (the stylists did good tho). Anyways, I'm looking forward to the full album and hope that it'll be (much) better.

As far as Pink Venom goes, I remember similar reactions from netizens to How You Like That. I still listen to HYLT all the time, it's such a banger.
Both songs are hype anthems for the pre-release of their albums to get everyone excited.
Lovesick Girls from 'The Album' definitely lived up to international girl group quality as well as their promoted b-side Pretty Savage, so I'm expecting the same with this album.

For me pink venom was a total bop... Like every group has their perticular style (especially for girl groups) when in 2020 blackpink released ice cream people hated them for everything from outfit to concept.... Like if they experiment people have problem if they don't people say that they are repetattive.... All over at first I thought it was plain but the more I listen the more I am loving the song.. There is nothing wrong we finally got rapper jennie... Lisa is getting good outfits and finally jisoo and rosè improved a lot vocal wise also pink venom helped attend vma.. i wish the mv was better put together, way too many things were going on and even tho i enjoy the song a lot now i get a headache when i try to watch the mv, because it's so fast. apart from that i'm so glad rapper jennie is back, and i really hope their title track somehow resembles lovesick girls, which was more experimental and had the girls show more of their vocal capabilities, especially the bridge part in which they all sing together.
and yes, there are constant rookie monsters coming out rn but blackpink's name is already well rooted in the industry, even a mid song from them would beat a 4th generation ''good song'', it is how it is.

@Suhanna Singh but isn't that the power? It is difficult to build that power even more so now, but they did that. You can be popular all you want if a song don't strike with you, after one or two listens people will move on. There are a bunch of examples for that. Whether you can digest the fact or not, People actually do listen to their songs, the charts are the true testament of that. So just because the song isn't your style, to say it would be flop if other group did it or saying it lacks quality is utterly disrespectful because there also a whole bunch of people who actually like it and enjoyed it. BTW the idea of good/quality song is very subjective. What you may find interesting, may not be appealing to someone else. If you want to hear different sounds from them, listen to their b-sides. And Ofcourse the pre release singles or title tracks are always meant to make noise and help them stand out to gather all the attention for what is to come. And they did just that.

Edit: I can understand the video’s odd cuts though, the clips did not fit together properly, and were just mashed together it semt like, of course though, they all looked absolutely perfect as expected.

snsd's comeback wasn't really even about trying to break records or topping charts. it was about keeping a promise to us SONEs to comeback as ot8 even with all 8 members despite them all being super busy with acting, dj-ing, radio hosting, concerts and tours, musicals etc. hence that was why it took them 5 years to arrange and sort out everyone's schedules. they even had to practice the choreo all on their own times separate from each other since their schedules didn't match but still put in all the effort to make that promise come true. their efforts should be applauded and it shouldn't be all about whether it was a "bop" or a "flop" because this song has a way deeper meaning than that. it's a gift to us SONEs and all it matters is that WE SONEs LOVE IT. i'm still streaming the song daily and tear up every-time. not to mention that this comeback was also a full album and not just some single song to just throw to the fandom and even when on tons of variety shows and promotions. also the fact that SNSD is capable to still make a cb together after being 15 years in the industry with no other kpop girl group being able to do that already speaks volume. they're LEGENDS.

Pink venom wasn’t really my taste I was kinda disappointed with it it was a little underwhelming but the song was successful it did well on charts. I love girls by Aespa though I’ve been listening to it a lot these days.

All of them are 100% bops because, first off, the definition of a comeback is a returning Kpop group, (just for this instance) with more entertainment that should be more exciting and the group can't wait to have the fans see it. The whole purpose was just for the sake of a long hatius, they are definitely more than anxious to put out their promotions. If I were you, I would just stay on the positive side of Netizens. Don't worry about the "flops" that try to make you think it's not a bop. I am never tired of BlackPink or Aespa, or any other group. They are all beautiful, multi-talented and funny girls while shooting for behind the scenes. The only thing that should matter is to have fun, anyway.......(just so you know) 😉

@@bigfanbigfan8283 I think the rap line got most of the parts because it was a hip hop based song and not exactly vocal based maybe their title tracks will have more of jisoo and rosé(their screen time was good though)it's not possible to have equal parts for all members in every song but overall they should have a fair line distribution and focus on all 4 in their album:)

Well for me Forever 1 is the best comeback they could have had for their 15th anniversary well they already passed the time when they have to complete with other groups and have to do something over the top or unique. Forever 1 was a gift for the fans and themselves so it was perfect because the sound and the visuals are so them 🙂🙂

I agree with the criticism of Pink Venom's MV. Lots of cuts in a music video either means that the lighting in the shots were bad (which I doubt considering how much money they spent on those sets) or that the editor is an amateur. YG should've known that a good Mv can't be achieved just by good sets, the editing of the video is just as important.

I personally think kpop is in this weird phase where they want to bring something new and catchy to the table but it’s been executed awkwardly because maybe they don’t have someone in charge who naturally follows that type of aesthetics. For example the new trend is late 90s early 2000s styles but it looks overwhelming and like something’s missing?
I feel like NewJeans was able to bring something new because the CEO is known for aesthetics & vintage looks so she’s knowledgeable in the field. English is not my first language so I’m not sure if I’m expressing myself well but it’s just my own personal opinion of what’s going on with Kpop right now.
Also, obviously the new generation have different preferences so it looks they’re trying different stuff to see what sells with the new kids.. maybe?

For me, THE blackpink genre got me into them, so I really like these types of music of them. I guess there are really so many people like me. Their type of music is catchy and has great beat. On daily basis, I like to listen to thess type of songs when I'm doing my ordinary works

None of these songs flopped, none of these songs were out of the charts or just ignored. They performed well in their own way, Forever 1 debuted lower, but climbed up to the top in few days, now being #5 and around in korean charts.
Aespa's girls could be a step back considering they came after Next level and Savage, this comeback should've been even more huge, but that doesn't mean they flopped, their songs Girls and Illusion are #17 and #18 respectively in Melon, it was lower than other songs, but not on the floor, not out of the charts. And you said it yourself, they even beat Blackpink's the album when it comes to sales and pre orders.

I listened to Girls so many times here's the thing: I hated it when I first heard it but it takes some getting use to. The song doesn't have a easy to follow structure so casual fans prob just gave it one watch/listen and just gave up on it. The chrorus for Girls would be PERFECT for the soundtrack of a girl power type movie. Like put it in the training montage of girls sports movie and it'd be #1 in the streaming charts. Unfortunately it may never get that chance but the chrous is amazing when you really visualize it.
But kpop fans these days have an unrealistic standards. Like in hollywood, the most viewd mv they got in 24 hours was taylor swifts mv with 50 million and everyone else couldn't get to that level, but are they flop? Is Adele flop? Beyonce? Rihanna? Selena gomez? Ariana grande? Drake? The weekend? And so many others, are they flop? SNSD's comeback was such an important comeback and I think its amazing. Piink Venom is ok. I like the pre-chorus and bridge, But I really love Girls. Honestly I don't think anything is a flop, basically a bop means its a really good song for that person. Haters just call songs they don't like or groups they don't like flops, when on the other side, the real fans or others that actually like it call it a bop. For example, I don't stan IVE, but I really like After Like, and Love Dive too, and even have Eleven as well.
