As a very new MY, I was shocked to learn about their lightstick. It was really a simple design. plus the four different symbols made me really uncomfortable. It would have been totally fine if each individual member had their own solo songs and hosted a concert but seriously for a 2-year-old k-pop group to have their own separate light stick is just.. just screams fans exploitation to me. Ngl SM just because some your ideas are unique doesn't mean it's useful. 😮💨

For who doesn't know, SM don't allow fans in music bank, Inkigayo etc to use individual lighstick. You have to use the "aespa" logo one. Fans only can use the individual lighstick at concert. ( especially when member perfom solo)

@@jini_midnight_i8550 yes, but I think they should only serve as complements to the actual members. For instance, Aespa also has virtual idols, but none of them is the group's center. Trainees train for years in their company to pursue their dream(and many of them never end up debuting even after all those hard work), so I don't think it's fair for a virtual person to be the center and let the other idols who actually worked hard to be the backup dancers (like the video said).

Also, the line distribution in Super Kind is messed up. I think the other members should be given more lines so they can fully express their vocal capabilities.
The biggest problem about the Saejin thing is that the members have to act like he is there even offstage which is awkward. The charming point of kpop is offstage interaction and friendship between group members. How can I take them seriously if they literally talk to an imaginary friend?

True, it would have been just another new K-pop group. The company is a business after all. They have to get recognition by one thing or another. They had to stand out.
Wouldn't be easier and cheaper just debut that character? The reason why aespa concept works is because the character isn't overtaken the place of the members. When aespa debuted I didn't want to support this Sment group for this reason...mental health of the members but actually Sment isn't doing, now...who knows what they will do in the future, what I thought could be their plan. The girls have the typical problems other groups have...always 1 or 2 team mates are the popular ones. That's at least more reasonable because eventually they will have more fans and opportunities to show their talents. With an AI character that's not possible, the character eventually will take over the fans that prefer a "non problematic idol". There is an app in China very popular...people pay to talk with an AI character and even people are having relationships with those characters, developing strong feelings for someone that doesn't exist and people say it's better than being in a relationship with a human. They can have a normal conversation.
It so rude to just put a notebook in between two people who are talking whether they're famous or not, that's just toxic, enhypen and engines deserve better, and I'm not a MY but the lightstick is so disappointing, aespa's mv and concept are so heavily invested in and have good quality, the lightstick doesn't even hold a candle to it

If they really wanted to go that route, I think the whole lightstick situation would've worked better if, besides a better design, they had given 3 options for buyers: •just the regular lightstick •a bundle with both the ls and all the member's versions •a kit of the 4 versions that way they'd get the extra cash of the different versions, but all members would be supported equally sales wise.

I remember following saejin way before superkind was announced, when he was basically just advertized as a "trainee" and a virtual influencer on instagram. I feel like another reason for that would be that. a lot of people got familiarized with him first so it's obvious that initially he's gonna be the most popular. However, once the other virtual members debut I feel like it'll die down and eventually it'll be similar to how people treat aespa.
Haha I got goosebumps at first too when I saw Saejin, but after sometime I realized how he represented a whole new group of people, the digital artists as well as the voice actor behind his creation. Now I find Superkind inspiring. Imagine how they opened more opportunities/jobs for people who would normally not be involved in such groups.
With blackpink, all 4 of them are super popular so I think all of their individual lightstivk would sell huge amounts, but I'm still glad they don't have individual light sticks

I'm not even aespa fan, but I think the design looks good its clean and simple and has futuristic feels, let me be honest some of groups has childish or simply tacky design lightstick, and some of if just try hard to look beautiful, but ended up looking gaudy later some people call something like that "creative"

Saejin positioning as the center in the group, in my opinion, is accurate. He’s an AI, it will be better for him to be in the center for editing purposes. I’m not an editing or very technological person, but I think will be more difficult for him to be in the center when they can just edit him and everything while the camera is centered. As well for incorporating him in the choreography. Also I believe they did a better AI concept than aespa. Although Aespa has a better storyline with all the meta-verse stuff that SM has going on.

Seajin is a very good project. I like how music industry uses skills and knowledge from other industries. (There are still more work to be done to polish the visual though.. lets give it time and lets give good critics to the creator to improve seajin) Superkind, the boys are amazing, i love them. they all have great personalities and talents. So i dont think they are "backup dancers", they are not center because they are literally the backbones, the pillars of the group. To make virtual mesh with reality, you need to see the boys interact with the virtual one and the boys understood the assignment (definitely great actors in the future..) Immature people and haters are so narrow minded that they can"t see beyond the tip of their nose 🤷🏻♀️. Anyway superkind team..please continue to work hard and stay bless 🙏🏻

@@daychild_ I think the reason there aren't many pictures of all of them yet is because there are actually more members who are expected to "join" the group later (including more virtual members like Saejin - we now have Seung as well) so maybe the company is waiting until the storyline allows for more members?

Well, virtual idols aren't anything new. And tbh, they're actually a really good business move from the company's part. Just take Hatsune Miku for example, if the companies behind her decides then she could be in the scene for decades to come while never really fading away and with nothing to hold back, it's like an immortal character which will constantly bring in cash flow. Plus, the character will be used in multiple projects simultaneously which is near impossible to do with a real person.
Yeah SM loves to push only the Korean line in aespa as they get the most promoted and the most screen time too, I can't imagine how Ningning feels after training the longest and ending up buried by SM to just highlight the koreans, but I 've heard that her SOLO lightstick was the first to be sold out, isn't that right?

I agree with the emblems of Aespa-it can cause bias fighting and earning more solo stans HOWEVER, in case of design and overall products Aespa’s light stick is really beautiful and has more of a futuristic feel and aesthetic to it connecting with their concept.
Personally, I think the virtual idols are a cool concept and Superkind's animators, programmers and editors have done an amazing job at bringing Saejin to 'life' (so to speak). I think it's important that the company also puts the spotlight on Daemon, SiO, JDV, Geon and Eugene too though as it's not right for them to be overshadowed when they're all so talented. The covering of idols faces is an obnoxious tactic by the staff. If I'd paid that kind of money to see an idol in person, I'd expect to be treated with respect. I understand that time is limited at these meetings but they're making a fortune from these events. I don't think this behaviour has anything to do with the idols though, it's likely a company directive that the staff have to follow, but it's still a poor way to treat fans and definitely leaves a bad impression. The overpriced poorly designed lightsticks are a no from me. I definitely wouldn't waste my hard earned cash on something that looks so cheap. There are other ways to support Aespa without purchasing those and maybe if they gathered dust on the shelves the company might redesign them and actually put some effort into it this time. As for the imbalanced sales of the individual lightsticks...that's life when you're in a group sadly. There will always be one or two members that fans are naturally drawn to, whether it's their vocals, dance skills, visuals or personality. I know it's easy to say and hard to do, but the ladies shouldn't let the sales of those lightsticks affect their own self worth. GOOD THING ABOUT aespa's light sticks: 1. It's simple but when it is light up, it's beautiful 2. Individual emblem is a good thing, why? Because if they are going SOLO. You can still carry the original light stick, just change the emblem 3. If you feel uncomfortable because you think Winter and Karina are more famous than the other girls, you shouldn't, KOREA is not the only country they are going to visit if they have world tours. Giselle and Ningning are both famous internationally. I saw most of emblem in twitter with moon sign. That says a lot.

I agree, the ae/ai concept is so unnecessary, especially for saejin. Surely an actual person is actually being used for the ai's dancing and singing or even as a foundation for the ai's face, so why not just debut that person .... About Saejin, I'm honestly just hearing about him now lmao but I'm one of those people that likes the concept tbh. Also possibly the way they do Saejin could be an actual person, just in a suit like one of those suits that the actor for the beast in The Beauty and The Beast live-action film, but instead of showing off the actual person, there could be 2 major reasons. 1) the person didn't have enough training time according to the company standards and so they put Saejin replacing the said person and they're just portraying him. 2)The most likely reason, is to bend the common concept of groups. The covering of the idol's faces thing irks me the wrong way. The whole point of a fan sign is for idols, and fans to see each other face to face. By covering the idol's face, they're basically defeating the point of a fan sign. A much better option could be when time was up, to simply tap said member's shoulder as a way to basically say "time's up" and the fan and said member could have a nice, simply put goodbye. It's a win-win, as the staff gets what they want by the fan moving down the line, and the fan and idols(more less the fans) get a nice moment that they'll remember without the added harshness of the staff. DSP, wtah, Fans are supporters yes, but also human and have their own lives. why control fans' time with the idols, when fans' have things they need to do too. If something that the fan needed to attend urgently outside of the event happened, what were they supposed to do? I get they(DSP) wanted to portray the factor of a "packed house" or a full venue, but that was just excessive. Aespa's lightsticks, I don't understand why SM did that. The point of a lightstick is to show your liking for a group as a whole. Why make something for each individual member when the point is for a whole group and not an individual member. That's basically like giving the Blackpink members their each own individual lightsticks. Another reason why this is useless is because it could show how underappreciated some members are, based on the symbol that's in the lightstick. I did not mean to make this comment this long.
i fucking love super kind concept all they need is a damn good story where saejin is like the main character of those manga's where he is an ai but trying hard to understand humans and him to transfer into one. Blackpink have a rough equilibrium in popularity so the lightsticks wouldn't be a issue. Its a problem for Aespa since Karina and Winter are more popular in Korea, Ningning has popularity in China so Giselle would be the one who lags behind in lightstick sales.

Like a solo artist because the concept of having an ai is i guess fascinating to many people so naturally, they would be more interested in saejin. This is actually my first time seeing AESPA's lightsticks, but... I like them! They resemble a soap bubble, a streetlight, a cosmic sphere, a lightball!!! And they fit the members really well! I am going say, as a MY of Aespa, that even though they are still a newly formed rookie group of Gen 4, doesn't mean that glow sticks for the fandom can change overtime. These ones that were showcased could've just been an assemble to what they might look like. It might not appear in the way that you originally thought it would be. The only reason that companies, like SM, might just put out a practice photoshoot because when promoting something or giving a merchandise to something, or other, they always have make sure that the cover of the photoshoot is documented by draft and not the final, invented light stick.

Trainees train for years in their company to pursue their dream(and many of them never end up debuting even after all those hard work), so I don't think it's fair for a virtual person to be the center and let the other idols who actually worked hard to be the backup dancers (like the video said).

True, it would have been just another new K-pop group. The company is a business after all. They have to get recognition by one thing or another. They had to stand out.
Wouldn't be easier and cheaper just debut that character? The reason why aespa concept works is because the character isn't overtaken the place of the members. When aespa debuted I didn't want to support this Sment group for this reason...mental health of the members but actually Sment isn't doing, now...who knows what they will do in the future, what I thought could be their plan. The girls have the typical problems other groups have...always 1 or 2 team mates are the popular ones. That's at least more reasonable because eventually they will have more fans and opportunities to show their talents. With an AI character that's not possible, the character eventually will take over the fans that prefer a "non problematic idol".
There is an app in China very popular...people pay to talk with an AI character and even people are having relationships with those characters, developing strong feelings for someone that doesn't exist and people say it's better than being in a relationship with a human. They can have a normal conversation.

If they really wanted to go that route, I think the whole lightstick situation would've worked better if, besides a better design, they had given 3 options for buyers:
•just the regular lightstick
•a bundle with both the ls and all the member's versions
•a kit of the 4 versions

I remember following saejin way before superkind was announced, when he was basically just advertized as a "trainee" and a virtual influencer on instagram. I feel like another reason for that would be that. a lot of people got familiarized with him first so it's obvious that initially he's gonna be the most popular. However, once the other virtual members debut I feel like it'll die down and eventually it'll be similar to how people treat aespa.
Haha I got goosebumps at first too when I saw Saejin, but after sometime I realized how he represented a whole new group of people, the digital artists as well as the voice actor behind his creation. Superkind, the boys are amazing, i love them. they all have great personalities and talents. So i dont think they are "backup dancers", they are not center because they are literally the backbones, the pillars of the group. To make virtual mesh with reality, you need to see the boys interact with the virtual one and the boys understood the assignment (definitely great actors in the future..)

Well, virtual idols aren't anything new. And tbh, they're actually a really good business move from the company's part. Just take Hatsune Miku for example, if the companies behind her decides then she could be in the scene for decades to come while never really fading away and with nothing to hold back, it's like an immortal character which will constantly bring in cash flow. Plus, the character will be used in multiple projects simultaneously which is near impossible to do with a real person.

I agree with the emblems of Aespa-it can cause bias fighting and earning more solo stans HOWEVER, in case of design and overall products Aespa’s light stick is really beautiful and has more of a futuristic feel and aesthetic to it connecting with their concept.
Personally, I think the virtual idols are a cool concept and Superkind's animators, programmers and editors have done an amazing job at bringing Saejin to 'life' (so to speak). I think it's important that the company also puts the spotlight on Daemon, SiO, JDV, Geon and Eugene too though as it's not right for them to be overshadowed when they're all so talented.
The covering of idols faces is an obnoxious tactic by the staff. If I'd paid that kind of money to see an idol in person, I'd expect to be treated with respect. I understand that time is limited at these meetings but they're making a fortune from these events. I don't think this behaviour has anything to do with the idols though, it's likely a company directive that the staff have to follow, but it's still a poor way to treat fans and definitely leaves a bad impression.
The overpriced poorly designed lightsticks are a no from me. I definitely wouldn't waste my hard earned cash on something that looks so cheap. There are other ways to support Aespa without purchasing those and maybe if they gathered dust on the shelves the company might redesign them and actually put some effort into it this time. As for the imbalanced sales of the individual lightsticks...that's life when you're in a group sadly. There will always be one or two members that fans are naturally drawn to, whether it's their vocals, dance skills, visuals or personality. I know it's easy to say and hard to do, but the ladies shouldn't let the sales of those lightsticks affect their own self worth. 1. It's simple but when it is light up, it's beautiful
2. Individual emblem is a good thing, why? Because if they are going SOLO. You can still carry the original light stick, just change the emblem
3. If you feel uncomfortable because you think Winter and Karina are more famous than the other girls, you shouldn't, KOREA is not the only country they are going to visit if they have world tours. Giselle and Ningning are both famous internationally. I saw most of emblem in twitter with moon sign. That says a lot.

As for the ligtsticks individual ones aren´t useless. SM is a company, they try to make as much money as possible! And yes, maybe it´s milking but sorry, it works out in the end! About Saejin, I'm honestly just hearing about him now lmao but I'm one of those people that likes the concept tbh. Also possibly the way they do Saejin could be an actual person, just in a suit like one of those suits that the actor for the beast in The Beauty and The Beast live-action film, but instead of showing off the actual person, there could be 2 major reasons. 1) the person didn't have enough training time according to the company standards and so they put Saejin replacing the said person and they're just portraying him. 2)The most likely reason, is to bend the common concept of groups.
The covering of the idol's faces thing irks me the wrong way. The whole point of a fan sign is for idols, and fans to see each other face to face. By covering the idol's face, they're basically defeating the point of a fan sign. A much better option could be when time was up, to simply tap said member's shoulder as a way to basically say "time's up" and the fan and said member could have a nice, simply put goodbye. It's a win-win, as the staff gets what they want by the fan moving down the line, and the fan and idols(more less the fans) get a nice moment that they'll remember without the added harshness of the staff.
DSP, wtah, Fans are supporters yes, but also human and have their own lives. why control fans' time with the idols, when fans' have things they need to do too. If something that the fan needed to attend urgently outside of the event happened, what were they supposed to do? I get they(DSP) wanted to portray the factor of a "packed house" or a full venue, but that was just excessive.
Aespa's lightsticks, I don't understand why SM did that. The point of a lightstick is to show your liking for a group as a whole. Why make something for each individual member when the point is for a whole group and not an individual member. That's basically like giving the Blackpink members their each own individual lightsticks. Another reason why this is useless is because it could show how underappreciated some members are, based on the symbol that's in the lightstick.

I am going say, as a MY of Aespa, that even though they are still a newly formed rookie group of Gen 4, doesn't mean that glow sticks for the fandom can change overtime. These ones that were showcased could've just been an assemble to what they might look like. It might not appear in the way that you originally thought it would be. The only reason that companies, like SM, might just put out a practice photoshoot because when promoting something or giving a merchandise to something, or other, they always have make sure that the cover of the photoshoot is documented by draft and not the final, invented light stick.
