Great video I can confirm what you say about peddle strikes, my crank arms are at least 175 and I've had peddle strikes not good and can be dangerous.

Great video brother, if you're more comfortable with shorter crank arms, the dollar value is well worth it.
I got to tell you the Bafang Ultra sound, is music to my ears. I have not ridden in two weeks and that will end this weekend. Thanks for the video.

I cut my cranks down and re-tapped them, worked brilliantly!

for getting around the frame size. seat position on the seat rails and the stem length would be more important. the 175mm are not really needed on ebike as you don't need to produce as much torque because you have the motor.

I have a bad knee and so I decided it might be worth shortening the length of the pedal rotation on my e-bike which might reduce the wear and tear on my knee a bit because I'd make a full rotation more quickly with less motion. So I bought a pair of "crank arm shorteners" that attach to your existing crank arms. You can then choose to screw in your pedals in any of four holes at the height you want.
Ride2 Bike Crank Arm Shorteners 23/28mm wide 9/16 arms
They were not cheap. $150, but they work well for me. Also, my knee, when in the highest position, is now not as much bent as it used to be.
This device doesn't reduce pedal strikes, though, because it uses you existing crank arms.

I am sure you've heard this many times, but the obvious solution is cut off/grind off the extra unnecessary length at the bottom n repaint the crank arms. Would be so much prettier. What Pedal Strikes????????

I think the bike now needs more orange, maybe grips and a bit on the frame

Letting my LBS put my bike together. I like the orange Hope bits so thought I’d go with these cranks, Pedals, Stem, bars, V4 brakes with floating rotors and Hope Fortus 35 rims. £1500!
    Having a rethink.

I have a bbshd with a 3200w controller and i bought some leckie crank arms and they seem to make it more comfortable to ride than the originals . Yes they were to pricey aswel but i got mine a bit cheaper aswel . I never pay full price for anything .

I'd like to use 175mm crank arms because I'm tall (over 6ft) BUT I'm using the arms that come with the vector typhoon simply cos I can't be bothered messing about ALTHOUGH....my bike is obviously full sus so....
There have been times where my peddle has bashed on tarmac, pavements ect cos I'm a fat barstool (20stone)
Different strokes for different folks. I'm not confident enough to MX my bike off road. Usually you'll find shorter arms on smaller frames.
p.s I bet those 1210s are getting dusty bruv 😉😉😉

  • @InkDropFalls

talking about rider position ....after thinking about thoughts in video ....i looked at Riser Bars ..they just angle in a bit like BMX but not to much ...those can bring upright by about an inch ...then there Stem get closer smaller stem ...that there is another inch ....between bar riser and stem shorter you get good 2 inch more upright and arms little less spread ...
anyways that my plan next ...i am 5,10 on Large frame feels like extra large because seat and bars ...
I dont need to be so aggressive forward when i dont need to pedal uphill ....that my conclusion

Love your videos bro. watch them all and always like of course. Ive got a 29inch mountain bike fitted with a 500W Bufang mid drive. I just use it to commute to work. Throttle only (lazy) and get 45Km/hrs out of it. Get loads of looks cos most peole have P/assist ebikes in New Zealand. It rides OK off road also. Keep up the great work with your videos my man. Very intersting viewing.

I've got to have a hip operation was looking at an electric bike conversion for a bike I have the rotation movement I my leg is limited so a shorter crank will be very useful. Also is the kit you have only pedal assist or can it be used as a electric non pedal assisted im 21 stone and 5.6 tall my normal bike had a 1 peice crank I put a child's bike crank in for the shorted swing only problem is the pedals were smaller than adult's ones
