The Sje093 is simply perfect.
A very relevant comparison, thank you so much! I have the 143, now on a rubber strap, and i must say for looks alone, the 143 is the winner. However, the opportunity to own a virtual carbon copy of Seikos first drive watch makes me want this latest re-creation more than ANY other Seiko. For a vintage vibe, this latest Seiko beats all others!
I also have a 143 and it is a beautiful watch. That's right, it looks best on rubber straps, I have several, black and orange, and recently I bought a strap from Strapxpro rubber specifically made for this model and it's great. Coming back to sje 093, beautiful but too small for me.
@@loe7717I have a 7 1/4 wrist cold - believe me- once you start wearing the 38mm you'll realise it's not too small, at all
well said
The smaller one is closer to the original, but I like the dimensions of the bigger one better, as well as the colours.
Seiko really needs to make a mid-size SPB143 like 38 mm or less. That would be a killer watch.
For the money, I like the SPB143. I just wish it had a ceramic bezel to give a more luxury look.
need an SLA017 in there too!
Waiting (hoping?) Seiko soon comes out with a 38mm that's nicer than the new $325 Seiko 5 Sports SRPK29 (hardlex, 4R36) and this $3500 LE. Something that splits the difference , that's pretty well spec'd around $1900 maybe please?!
Fantastic comparison video keep them coming brother! Beautiful watches Seiko and Bulova are my favorite to own
Thanks for viewing!
I’ve owned the SLA043 before and it’s a beautiful watch but the thin bezel just makes the dial visibly too big on my wrist. The proportions just feel off to me. And as you stated the crystal sizes are about the same although the SPB is about 4mm larger in diameter
確かにSJE093が完璧だ。
The SJE093 is definitely perfect.
I own both - and both are very satisfying in different ways. The 097 is significantly better finished and more detailed. The 143 perhaps a little rough around the edges in comparison. People ask about the 097 - people clearly look at the 143 but do not ask about it. The crystal, bezel, dial, markers, date frame on the 097 are at a different level. So a comparison should not be based on looks alone. I love my 143 - it stays on my wrist a lot longer than the 097. I put the 097 on when I want something a bit more special and stealthy in that I know what it is - but most people just see Seiko - but a really nice one that stands out.
Well said, continue enjoying both of them!
You mean 093
limited edition is nicer and size wise is more true to the original but of course the price is high
Thanks. I have the spb143 and was thinking of the sje093. Might just save up for a grand seiko for a bigger jump
Never mind I lied. I bought the sje093 just today.
@@StoicKenhow do they compare?
@@StoicKenhaha i did the same exact thing. i had a grand seiko in mind but this fit my style more and is just cooler imo. sucks i gotta wait till they get delivered jan/feb.
@@daveLin104 my bad. I meant to say pre ordered. Waiting until Jan
i have both and neither one of them replaces the other. it’s my 2 watch collection at the moment with many straps.
Do you have favourite for the money
@@daveLin104 spb143 is such value for money.
the limited addition is definitely nicer. Personally I don't think its worth 2 the price
3x
the 6L37 is 3X better than the 6R35
Are there two versions of spb143? I've seen some of them don't have the lume beside the date window, and the other one just like in this video
Yes, the very first versions didn't have it but I believe to keep within ISO standards later models had to have it added.
If the 093 was available then yes, since it’s not… we’re just mouth breathers.
Are you suuuure that's the measurements you got? The new SJE I measured was slightly different
I don't have another in stock to measure again so will go with what is listed in the description.
I prefer the SPB143 but for the movement hence why I will be getting a customised SPB143 with a quartz movement.
Spb143 thanks
Thanks for the comparison. SPB143 all the way!
Can you do SJE093 vs SLA043
Would love to, but not sure I'll see another SJE093 in stock.
Both are way more expensive than they need to be. Other brands are taking Seiko's position 🤷
$1200 and they still have to use damn pins and sleeves.
Hi Brad, both watches look impressive, and the limited model does have subtle flourishes which improves its appearance.
I see no justification for the price of the limited model unless the movement has METAS level abilities.
Thanks Brad, cheers, Bob 🍻
$3500 ? 😮
If you know, you know
$3500? they smoking some good shiet
What do U smoke. it's 6L movement. not the 4R36. more accurate than most medium end swiss watches. Are U joking or what.
@@Apex_Apeq +10sec, 45 hour pr, no certification….TF you smoking Seiko fanboy?!
@@timchan334 I bet U don't have any Seiko 6L mvmnt & only know to condemn . Go buy & try one of any seiko 6L. Those movements are not the same in accuracy.
@@Apex_Apeq their are $100 NHxx movements with high accurancy, doesnt mean its high end (high pricetag).
@@timchan334 Swiss ETAs were $30 bucks a piece a few years ago, doesn't mean they're high end just because they jacked up the price. It's all marketing.
093 without doubt or hesitation! Too bad it's essentially unavailable.
A 3500bucks Seiko with a misaligned bezel...what a classic! It certainly looks good though
Unacceptable even at 500-700€
@@ppadilla8990 at any price point. When I get one I just return it. I have cheap 200bucks watches that are perfectly aligned.
The SPB is more masculine and the SJE is sized to a woman. I'd go with the SPB.
Another one relating watch size to manhood…Insecure about something?
@@Angry_Gnome Huh? I'm talking about the size of the watch. Smaller size suits womens wrists better.
@@ALXPGI38mm is not sized for a women. A women can wear that size but it would look big. Most men’s watches for a long time were 36mm including the rolex datejust and explorer which they still make today.
It has to be SJE093 all the way, mvt and finish quality, dimension's and wearability clinch it, the 143 is basic Seiko fare, as we all know that is now no longer anything for excitement. Price increases, pi88 poor QC, misalignment's, cruddy bracelet's, Hardlex !!!!!!!!, gimme a break a $ 200.00 microbrand can fit a Sapphire Crystal for heaven's sake's, so for value for money 093 ☠💀☠
The spb143 does have a sapphire crystal🙄
