- In this episode 202 we set sail in light airs from Newcastle NSW destination Sydney. Only thing is
its a big jump to do in one day and the weather forecast is predicted to turn bad later that day.

Love this! Were more than eager to finish rebuilding our 65' power catamaran to start our adventure too!
Great fun mates!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Really enjoy watching you boys sail, thanks for taking us along. Hope y'all get an awesome boat you love.
We really appreciate you watching, thanks for the kind words 👍
I see a trimaran in your future boys! Come on over to this side. You’ll get to Sydney before dark.
🤣🤣
Realy appreciated the action shots this time around you two work great together. fun stuff
We do work together pretty well on deck like a well-oiled machine 🧀
Great sailing lads . You make it look so easy moving those sails round x
We have been doing it for some time now 😁
Love seeing how you set the sails , super vid
Thanks David 😁
Delicious Sailing Brothers, another great video. You always show it as it is out there sailing. Happy days.
Warts and all sailing
YO! It was wicked cool watching Y’all do the technical sailing stuff! I understood much of it. Thank you for showing us that.
We try to keep it real 😎
So much going on with you setting the sails up. So impressive. You've got it down to a fine art. 🎉
I bet the new boat will take some getting used to? 😊
We have been doing it for so long it's like clockwork. You're right a new boat will take a lot of getting use to 👊
Thanks!
Thanks very much Dracey
Cats out the bag...🤣
😂😂
Deeelicious episode! Good on ya, Bros.
Thanks Peter 🙏
Pittwater and Palm Beach is where they filmed Home and Away - a real lovely place. You guys are now starting to visit the same places that I did when I was out and about on my travels. I love watching your vids - have a blast.
We actually walked on Palm Beach. Didn't see home and away filming there though 🤔. It's great to visit all these amazing places
Well done guys I am sure you will able to get that fixed even if they need to solder an extension cable on. Keep on Sailing ⛵️
It's in the process of being repaired 👌
Great update lads. I enjoyed the headcam footage, learnt a few tips. Thanks for the update on the AIS system. Looking forward to seeing you anchored in Sydney 😊.....amazing .
No problem Graham thanks for the comments 😀. AIS is currently being repaired should be back online soon
Was just looking at the for sale ad Atlas and then i am looking at you still going down the east coast. Boat looks great. Hope you get your asking price. All the best. 🐟
Yes the videos are around four weeks behind real time. She is for sale in pitwater New South Wales 👊
Great sailing music and fabulous blue Pacific sea !
Thank you Richard

Thanks! You too!
Ooh was that a hint! What beautiful weather 😊
Really can't fault the weather ☁️🌡️
You Smashed your meal out of this word, spooky. 3 is the magic number.😊
Oh yes 😁
A terrific episode with some real sailing action! Did we get a hint that the new boat will be a trimaran? The squinty look on Luke's face when he was sampling the cheese... he is the Cheese Pirate! ARRRRR😁
It may be something on those lines 🤔😎
Great to see you two today 😂
Always a pleasure meeting friendly people
Great vlog guys, well done.
Thanks so much!
Great video, lots of sailing and shots of the sea, showing how you gybe the boat etc. but perhaps get a soldering iron. They are v cheap.
We do have a soldering iron on the boat but need a more precise one I think 🤔. Glad you enjoyed the sailing shots
Goodmorning brothers. Werry nice documentation i love it.adam❤❤❤
Thanks Adam! 😊 😉😁
@TheSailingBrothers you both come to Thailand whe go sailing on my gaffcutter.its freeeee.
At the moment I be in kho chang.
Lovely sailing! Can’t wait to see the NY eve episode!
It's pretty cool 😎
Trimaran sounds interesting 😊
🤔
I noticed that hint !! 3 hulls to anti fowl though 😆
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Andre 🤠
Save Sails gents,
👍😎
Amazing film as always, hope we get to see the Sidney fireworks off Atlas 😉 what's Australian cheddar like and have you bought some Vegemite yet 😀
We did have a fantastic view of the fireworks in Sydney harbour totally amazing 🤩
I hope its a trimaran guys, ive sailed monos, cats big ones too and trimarans three is the way to go hands down, cheers
Cheers rex 😁
Wow Wind debating interesting 😂😂
😂😂
Like clockwork
😁
another great video Lads KRO happy days
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks David
Oh no not the hat 😢
I loved those house brick sized cheese block in Oz…they have been used as offensive weapons, being lobbed at victims.
Get yourself a $15 buck solder iron, always handy, it’s very easy to uses.
Build your self a little dam around the mount point, plasticine , blob of solder and away you go…
Absolutely love a kilo of brick size cheese 😁. Thanks for the tips with the soldering. I think we need to get ourselves a solder in iron
La semaine de 7 jours est longue pour attendre the next episode. Our best Chanel on UTube.
No one again we put out a Wednesday special ✌️
Big hint on the new boat i reckon
Well 🤔
Thanks cool video as always lads.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
You should spend more time in Pittwater. Check out Jerusalem bay and smith creek!
So much to see 🙈
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for another great video! Wish I could be there, I would repair the unit for you! You should install lazy Jack's for your sails, it makes it much easier when you lower your mainsail! I installed them on my sailboat! Atlas was really moving! You did good time! Safe travels from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦....It gets down to-20c here at night! Burrrr!
It is lovely weather in Australia it's a great part of the world. We are currently getting our AIS fixed. I think the new boat we have bought as LJ. Trying to bring some warmer weather your way Lloyd 😁
@TheSailingBrothers can't wait to see the new sailboat! It must break your hearts to say goodbye to Atlas! She did her job and served you well!
Thanks for the reply!
Sailing in some lovely weather yet again. Raining and high winds in the U.K. but nice here in Tenerife. Been looking at some charter yachts setting out today, almost got away as a stow away 🏴☠️ but Auntie Kath stopped me 😎⛵️😂😂😂
We hope you have enough fantastic time in Tenerife 😁. We enjoyed looking at your pictures. It's a good job Kath stopped you 🤣🤣
Hope you guys have a beer at the NEWPORT ARMS....Perfect pub for yachties...there's also a public mooring just inside pittwater behind barrenjoey lighthouse ( the hammer head) as you put it...LOL.
Sounds like a lovely place Mark. We have been enjoying all the public moorings down the East Coast 👌
Nice Sailing Guys. By the way did you have any Christmas Dinner. Can’t wait to see you in Sydney. Well done 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We did have a beautiful Christmas dinner 🍽️
Hello! I hope the trimaran talk was a hint about your new boat…if I was in Australia, I’d take advantage of all the wonderful multihulls built and sailing there…designers like Brown, Hughes, Cross, and Crowther, just to name a few. In fact, I hope you guys too a look at the Cross 42 for sale in your area, an oldie, but a goodie! Best of luck out there!
We have been hinting but can't give away any details at the moment it's still a secret 😉
Probably too late to tell you this but for anyone else in this predicament,
Just buy an extra VHF antenna, bolt it on your push pit or radar arch.
Two benefits as it removes the need for a splitter and the associated losses in signal that they create.
If, god forbid, you lost your rig or a bird takes out your masthead antenna you will have a spare VHF which of course you would lose if the mast came down.
Also range is line of sight so you will still get 30+ miles of AIS coverage.
We have thought about fitting a VHF antenna on the arch. Maybe it's something we can consider for the new boat 😉
Sydney Delicious 😋
Sydney is amazing 😎
great sailing guys you two work together well you will never loose a hat if you get those that clip on the back of the tee shirt lost loads of hats down that coast where you are sailing
We need to have a lookout for these in the shop so I think 😁
The AIS antenna combiner should be repairable … looks like a standard type of sma connector and just solders on to the board
It's currently being repaired at the moment ✌️
I’m assuming that you already have the AIS/vhf splitter box fixed but I’d assume any decent sparky could solder that back together onto the board.
Good choose going into Pittwater. There’s a lot of traffic going in and out of Sydney Harbour guys. Not as busy as Newcastle but bad enough. At night I think you’re safer hanging outside until the next day.
We are having the AIS repaired at the moment. It's actually going to be used on the new boat so we are getting it reset as well. I agree pittwater is lovely 🤩
@ can’t wait to see what you’ve found. Will you have problems getting it into the UK without paying excise taxes on it?
Btw if you get a chance, I’d spend a little time around the corner in Cowan Creek. Definitely worth going for a look see.
Good show lads....proper’ting ...steady as she goes 🙋🏼♂️🙋♀️🇨🇦👍
lads? … give me a break, you’re not british
Steady as she goes 😎
There is a good reason why round the world racing boats are monohulls!
Really, what an aborrent comment, open your eyes
Did you guys just give us a HUGE hint at what your next boat might be????? Mmmmmm?
Curious in South Africa
I was about to say the same thing. I think they might have.
Me thinks me HEARD the term TRIMARAN?
Definitely a huge Trimarang hint 😂
dont ever buy a fucking multi hulled boat!
We have been hinting on getting an upgrade. All will be revealed soon 😉
Nice sailing there. I may have missed it but have you ever explained why you don't wear either pfds, harnesses or anything? Btw that's annoying with the ais splitter considering how much these things cost.
We do where life jackets but only when it's really rough and at night as well. We should be wearing them all the time but I suppose we are just young and silly 🙈
I hope you guy's get your a.i.s fixed you will need it to be safe and we all wont you to guys to be safe enjoy pitwater there are alote of good sailing boats there for sale good luck guy's
It is currently being repaired. We will be installing it on the new boat ⛵
Love your video’s, only comment I have after watching this one is that you two should have life jackets and be clipped on when working on deck. I recently lost a good sailing mate, we first sailed together 47 years ago, he did the Whitbread before AIS and GPS plotters, a few Sydney Hobart and many other ocean races around the globe, a very experienced offshore sailor. He died when the vessel lost control downwind and Chinese jibbed, all in a matter of seconds. This was a coastal race, well within sight of land. We had often discussed the blokes we knew that had for various reasons, fallen overboard, never to be seen again.
We appreciate your concern and agree, safety is paramount. ⛑️
Really sorry to hear you lost your friend. We really should clip on!
I lost my favourite hat 2 days ago sailing nth from Tasman Island in Tassie. 😠
I will be watching out for you guys as I`m coming nth towards you.
We will keep an eye out for your hat 🤠
Gentlemen, that looks to be a very easy resoldering job.
We were thinking of doing it ourselves but it's so small
@@TheSailingBrothers A small 15w iron and standard rosin-core solder should do it. Then only enough heat to flow the solder.
I know lost 3 hats on a 6 month cruise to the Sea of Cortez and back tragic
I wouldn't want a trimeringue because I don't have a sweet tooth, but you do you. 😁
😂😂
Baked beans and mash.... ya'll should call it cutting the cheese in the cockpit. With a tailwind, they'll be able to smell you coming 😂😂😂
You’ve got a good point there! 😂 😂
Does that reference to a Trimaran give a clue to the boat you want next ?
We are looking at all options 🙂
If you had a trimaran you would be doing 10-12 knots
Was this a hint to the next boat !!!
We were thinking about it. We have bought another boat but it says closely guarded secret at the moment 😉
We did 10 knots under bare pole on a Horstman trimaran 35 ft had to tow a tire on chain and swivel the slow down 😂
And the kitchen sink 😂😂
I hear the rapido 60’s are fast but have a few teething problems, plenty of room for grating cheese though 😊
I don't think we got that much money to spend 😞
Imagine my horror to see in the opening scenes tea being made by throwing a teabag into cold milk and then chucking hot water at it! Is this the welsh way? As always love the show.
I was shocked too....
Absolutely, I think the guys need tea making lessons 😂😂
Luke has a really odd way of making tea ☕🤢
Did I hear the mention of a trimaran?
Maybe 🤔. We can't give any details yet it's still a closely guarded secret
Was that a little hint of what boat you’re buying next? Tri instead of mono
Well all will be revealed soon 😉🔜
Why use a splitter? Separet aerials are much more reliable.
Your knor the only one to say that
Another awesome episode.
Thanks Greg 😀
When u are not sure what another boat is doing radio them. It’s what I do.
They might be really novice and even a radio call from a stranger can talk sense in them and save a life.
A agree 💯
hey boy os. great video. is Atlas sold yet?
Not yet. She is still up for sale
Looks like it was a lovely sail. Did you hear anything about the guy heading north?
No we didn't 🤔
So a trimaran then?
We can't give any details yet it's still closely guarded secret 😉
Should be repairable. Will be interested to see if you found someone to do it.
It is currently being repaired as we speak
Just run another Ariel for the Ais then you have a spare for your vhf radio or use your hand held vhf radio and let the Ais use the main antenna
👍 it's something we will look at on the new boat
This is the first episode you've actually shown handling the sails and sheets up on the bow! Tell me I'm wrong!
We have done this in the past but not for a while
That could not have been a better time to do a MOB drill when you lost your hat. Decent seas, surprise, and in the middle of a sail change. Jump to action and save that hat, so it becomes muscle memory when it's for real.
I think we missed out there. That sounds like a great idea 💡
Don't worry. You'll be able to get your AIS repaired. And there's no such thing as too much butter😋
You're right, butter is always good. 😉
That AIS splitter problem is an easy fix. The connector can be resoldered. No doubt the boys know this by now.
It is being repaired as we speak 👍
Hmmm...at the beginning of the video the boat icon is already inside Sydney harbour...🤣🤣🤣
U caught us out there! I filmed the chat update after the event because the first one was no good 😂😂
@ maybe is because I use the same application and the eye is trained to see some things! Well done on your travels guys and looking forward to see how many hulls are you going to have on the next boat!😎
Trimaran would suit you both mint, own space when needed, which is way better for your mental health.. trust me, I’m a bachelor 😂
It's either going to be a trimaran, mono or cat 🐈
If it is a tri, I hope it isn't a rapido. Those things look like a heap of trouble...
They are so fast ⏩⏩
Cheeses! What a diet !
🤣
🤣🤣
wow your still in 2024...i tell you 2025 has a weird start boys hehe
It is a bit odd being behind
A phone repair place should do that
NSW hat? Rugby league hat? Sorry to point this out BUT you landed in Bundaberg, QLD so that makes you a Queenslander and maroon is your colour. Go with the winners, get a QLD hat.
It was given to us by a friend in Newcastle
Crikey that ain't a knife! It's a knife shaped object but it's got bits missing. Time for a go fund me project for a new knife lads!
🙈😂😂😂😂😂
Silly question but how many fish do you catch every day?
We don't fish very often. Usually the freezer is full 🌝
If you boys bought a catamaran you could have a hull each.
They would have to get an extra crewman if they went for a trimaran.
A tri gives them common ground in the middle...
Just think of these space 👌
@TheSailingBrothers you will just fill it with junk
@@dadcanufixit ...... It's called "treasure"......me.. I have a treasure hoard on my boat.
You've bought a Trimaran, ain't ya? 😉
Nope 🤔
Why don't you let out the fishing line?
Sometimes the freeze it is full
This episode was a bit cheesy 😂
😂😂
What design boat are you looking for?
Either a mono, cat or trimaran 😉
