A perfect solo. Short, sweet, and not too filled with technical moves. Just a quick, rhythmic set of snare work and drum exchanges that the entire audience can get into. Loved his groovin', close to Jeff Porcaro and Carlos Vega.

First time ever seeing and hearing a Phil Gould drum solo and it's exactly like I thought it would be. Excellent technique, groove throughout and imaginatively serving the music!
A Groove master ... what a drummer !!!! When he left, level 42 had other great drummers like Gary Husband, but not perfectly paired with Level 42 like Phil ... Phil was absolutely perfect for level 42, nobody like him !!!
Just brilliant playing at all levels (see what I did there?). AND, surprise-surprise his drums sound like ... drums. No digital reverb-ultra signal processing- hyper EQ'd bullshit, just ... drums. 5 Stars for this one. Solid Gould (sorry, had to).

Not the most dynamic or powerful solo you'll ever hear, but fairly tasteful and restrained. Interesting choice of drum tuning.
