- In depth okizeme guide with tons of setups for hard knockdown into afro, bomb, or trumpet.
everyone has been doing the worst shit ever off some of these item pulls for a year so I decided to fix it. the 5k buff helps a LOT too. It's nothing but fuzzies and high/low/left/rights all over the shop.

All the Faust doomers are gonna wish they didn't give us all those buffs after all the downright broken item setups get found out

These setups are all sick, especially the bomb ones, I've never been more excited to try something out in training mode.
I came up with a few of my own while messing around that I'll dump here in case anyone cares:
(all start with 2k-2d-bomb toss, cS 2s 5h MMM)
Back to the corner low: let all 4 hits of MMM rock and do 2RC 2h for a better starter than 2k
In corner overhead: FRC j.K cS after ~3 hits of MMM, jump cancel to block, c.S 6H MMM,big damage
In corner low: with 1 bar, 4 hits of MMM into 2RC 2H 214S.
Ok reward but unsafe if they block it, so you'd prefer to have 2 bars to do either the above string with a RRC at the end to pickup/stay safe , or:
2 or 3 hits MMM, 2RC 2H, 6RC c.S, jump cancel to block, c.S 6H MMM, which does more damage.
Having 2 bars is also nice as it allows you to end the overhead string with a well scaled super.
I'll never hit these in a match lol
trust me, you will if you try. its definitely hard to integrate into your play at first because there's a lot to react to, but you'll get there

Honestly dude, this video has actually opened my eyes to the fact that I can actually do stuff when I get a trumpet/bomb/Afro on knockdown; in the past I got these items and just thought “whatever”, thanks so much :)

I started off playing Chipp on release, and realized I needed to smoke crack to keep up with celestial Chipp players. 8 months after release, I started playing Faust and never looked back. Faust is definitely more my style. I'm happy to announce I've hit celestial about 4 times without any combo guides (except in-game dojo). I hope to seamlessly adopt these new techniques to my play style, but I'd have to dedicate time to lab it out (with work, housekeeping, and GF, it's rough lol)
Also, definitely need to lab out new item setups with Anvil and Hammer. If my theory is correct, unblockables are possible with good timing.

that was my main goal with this guide really. more than showing off setups I want people to realize you can do sicko mode shit with items and find cooler and better stuff that I can then steal myself, lmao

been playing faust in strive (my first fg) for about a year now and i remember watching this early on and really wanting to learn it but quickly realizing how beyond me it was. now in celestial i am finding i need to make optimal use of every knockdown to keep momentum going and stay on the offense, but holy fuck is timing a 1 frame meaty 2K the hardest shit ive ever had to do. any tips on how to learn this? its just a manual timing right?
yea its just manual timing. and honestly its pretty overkill to be that optimal, but there's no punishment for messing up other than slightly weaker oki so i wouldn't stress over practicing it too much and just try to build it into your play slowly. one of the absolute last things you should work on, i would say

Cant wait to practice these, am wondering what you have the dummys set to for each item?
have to manually record blocking for each setup you want to test unfortunately. my method was to hit 2k 2d item playback button and have a custom recording based on how people are likely to defend. makes it sound pretty complex but its basically just watching the recording frames number and going "ok block high at 160, switch to low block at 200, go high again at 230" etc. its a bit time consuming but its not tricky or hard
can you please explain the 5k kara mixmixmix??? I didnt think you could kara with faust?!
in strive kara typically refers to doing a special out of a dash cancel. in faust's case you can dash cancel 5k and if you input mixmixmix within a few frames of the dash cancel you'll take all the speed from it, allowing you to combo from much further out.
the easiest input for this is something roughly like 5k 236(dash macro)S. basically trying to hit them as close together as possible without overlapping the input, ending with S. hope that helps, if somethings unclear lemme know and ill try and explain better
Why not use 2K into 6P? Does it do less damage than the dust or less setup time?
Is it possible to go for similar item set plays after CH 6p? As in just doing toss after 6p and not trying to go for mmm, including loops.
you have enough time to do 2 item throws off 6p ch and work from there if you want but its needless to say quite complex
3:29 Leo picked up the Trumpet first but then you somehow stole it and got the Trumpet while doing S Scarecrow... how? Is that always replicable or even works in other situations?
If you're both inside the trumpets hitbox to pick it up when it becomes active like S crow makes happen here Faust always takes priority over the opponent on grabbing it, so you can do it whenever the trumpet is gonna land on them.
if you're not familiar with how S crow works, until you appear at the top of the screen you're invisible and invulnerable on top of them (its why S crow prc works)
Is S crow bugle steal patched?
4:03 - how are you able to get 1 hit from 2K to avoid hitting the bomb far? you go from 1 hit 2K to 5P so easily
do it super early as they wake up and the first 2 hits of it will whiff. very easy to time with some practice
