Great vid and guide! 4:40 Just remember that Beyblade (Kamuriyuki/214H) is -3 on block, which means that if your opponent knows they can grab you on block, they probably will unless you cancel into DP

I've been playing Nagoriyuki for a while now but I like reviewing the basics now and then. I'm going to recommend this video next time someone tells me they want to learn him because it's undoubtedly the best beginner guide I've seen for him. You did a great job explaining all the fundamentals very clearly and I wish I had this a couple of years ago when I started 😂
This is the best guide on Nagoriyuki I've ever seen. I play Giovanna, but watching this guide not only taught me so much so quickly, but also made me so interested in this character!
I was going to give feedback on the number thing for the direction being overcomplicated and potentially confusing but most people seem to agree it's great. I know that i would've been completely confused if i saw this video 8 years ago before i started playng fighting games XD
I really love how you structured this guide I’ve been looking for vids that break it down move by move for a combo, and this is perfect. Really liked the real game example too!
This is great, I just picked up the game and liked Nago as a character. These strings definitely will take time to learn, I've never played a fighting game with the input of his Command Grab and that seems like a very crucial move to hit, so I miss it often so far…
Quick guide for new players wanting to main nagoriyuki 1. Do not over extend ur combos 2. Do not commit to any string unless u hit confirm 3. Do not go into blood rage 4. Play him the way u feel comfortable because if you copy pros that use him like hotashi u will lose more than u win due to entering blood rage Lastly 5. Do not I repeat do not stay in the 3rd bar of blood rage it makes u have to stand still and not being able to do Any sp moves
Excellent guide for new nago players like myself, just have a couple nitpicks: In the combo walkthrough sections you translate nago's rekka to several 6Ss, but no movement is required on the stick to do the rekka (on dustloop it is notated as f.SSS, but f. in this case refers to the distance [far] as opposed to c. for [close], not the forward direction on the stick (which would be 6, like Nago's lunging stomp on 6K or the overhead swing on 6H) I suggest also adding the input tracker during the narrated hit-by-hit, as it would be the most useful placement for it in the entire video
Doubt you'll see this but I really appreciate the video my man! I always thought Nago looked super sick and only just yesterday started playing Guilty gear. This makes me want to play the character even more now!
for some reason I cannot get the "closing the gap" input. I can do the inputs but when I do the 236SK for some reason it only does the 236S. Idk if I'm too slow or if its a misinput.
I have 169 hours on this game and I still learned a lot of new things from this video, I didn't know you can disregard the 236 input of fukyo after inputting clone, I though I was just not fast at inputting 236k after 236s
@@limb-o7180are you letting go of the 6 in 236s and then performing a 6k? Make sure that after the 236s you keep the 6 held and then instantly press k. If this still isn’t working, when I get home, I will try to replicate the issue your having and try and work out what’s going on
@@limb-o7180 Yo, sorry for the later reply, I've been busy. They can both be inputted one after another on the 6, it just needs to be done quickly. But for ease, try it the other way. I made a video showing this here. ua-cam.com/video/EGoNMfTyh-k/v-deo.html
I really like nago because you can either become a mashing meathead until your blood gauge stops you or be the most technical player in the lobby masterfully stretching combos using ALL of your resources and they both work (gotta be carefull with that last one, real dangerous if it goes wrong). Playng like a well behaved person doesn't work? Just become an ape and mash quarters and buttons
For some reason the c.S at 8:48 doesn’t land for me because of Fukyo, if it let fukyo go normally I slide to far and switch sides and If I cancel I can’t reach him. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know what
newbie here. with Nago, other than using my blue burst, when I'm facing an enemy with fast attacks and they've pushed me to the edge of the screen, how do I fight back? what are my options?
Yeh being in the corner as nago is pain. You can yellow Roman cancel which is when someone hits you, you press any three attack buttons and it gets them off you and makes it your turn. In terms of moves. I like to use 2K to poke because it’s quick and low. So you can go 2K,2D,623h for wasureyuki which can start a combo from the corner.
No you cannot. Even if you theoretically could, it would be useless since grabs can't be combo'd into. You might be thinking of shizuryuki, which shares the same 623 motion. This can be useful to hit after beyblade for follow ups or just straight up more damage
Can't thank you enough for this guid man! I picked up the game about 2 weeks ago. I'm a big fan of guilty gear, but never played a heavy character before. So instead of relying on my usual main (Bridget), I picked him instead. It was hard playing such a different style of character but thanks to training, online matches, and your guide, I've finally reached level 81 with him. I still need some work with him, but I'm enjoying it very much.
Are all of these applicable to the current patch? The sudden grab string at 10:00 isn't really working for me, the opponent is always out of reach after the 6S > 6S edit: figured out I need to delay the 623P a lil bit.
i have been playing again for a while now, but i never knew you can do the hold 2 or 6 plus K for the gatling fukyo... I just thought people have insane inputs to do those... I'm so glad i watched your video!

Unfortunately there's one small problem with me and nago, I physically can't do a Z input. Edit: nvm, I was able to land it right after I asked, I was doing it too slow 😅
Great guide, I didnt know about the holding 6k to continue fukyo despite having watched previous nago vids in the past. I liked the paused break down of the combos, I find combo vids often hard to follow because they go through them so fast. One thing is you may want to note that you write the z/DP notation different than most places (ie 63236 instead of 623), or maybe explain why you write it that way instead.
Thanks a lot, I’m glad it helped. In terms of the z/DP, when learning myself, I didn’t understand this as a very new player, so I thought it would be easer to understand, saying it the way I said it in the video.
assuming you're on a dpad, roll or slide your thumb quickly from the forward button to the down button and back. it takes a long time before it's muscle memory! but you just gotta keep doing it. 100% you can do it. search "How to use a D pad Controller - Fighting Game" from JoyStickNY, he has a great demonstration of it.
A few quick corrections that I noticed in your notation for some of the strings (im relatively new to this game so let me know if this is wrong): 1) nago doesnt have a 6s, instead he only has 5s. That means the rekja combo is 5s->5s->5s, although 6s also works. It even works with a back input(4s), but there is no reason to do that one. Doing 5s instead if 6s can make follow up inputs easier depending on what you're following up with (namely fukyo and beyblade) 2) the dp input for bloodsucking universe and shizuriyuki is not 63236p and 63236h respectively, but they are instead just 623p and 623h, again respectively. You can get away with doing 6323 which can make the input easier but the 6 at the end is unnecessary and can make follow ups harder. 3) you said Nago's normal overdrive is both half circle forwards(41236s), and half circle back flick forward(632146s) at different points in the video. Just for clarification, it is 632146s. This input is shared with the blood overdrive, the only change being that is uses heavy slash instead of slash. Other than these few notation errors great vid. Also i know that i sound like a massive nerd here but i want to make sure people dont get confused by this video due to a small error
