The afro thing is not only the funniest shit I've ever seen in a fighting game, it's a genuinely ingenuitive idea, changing the size of an opponents hurtbox isn't something I've ever encountered before

Holy FUCK just when i thought this game couldn't look any better... Faust's smooth, crispy clean animations make him look equal parts whimsical and unsettling.
I’m liking his new move set. The little chucky with butcher knife that he sends, random projectiles like bombs and banana peel. And that vanishing scarecrow attack from different positions. He is so lit. Gonna main Faust, edie and sol bad guy.
Faust looks super fun and I expect him to be a low tier that messes people up in the right hands. Snip snip snip is such a cool idea and I love that fighting games are branching out on mechanics.
I personally believe that we are not going to get XRD characters in the base roster because of two reasons. One I think what Arc is doing with Strive is to make a revamped roster of classic characters from the first game and X. Another reason is alot of xrd's characters have already been in 2 to 3 games except Answer who was only in rev 2. But that is just my opinion but idk maybe Arc will throw a curve ball with this next reveal after the beta which would be cool
Seeing the amount of new things Sol and Ky has and Axl with crazy new move makes me excited for what this random, chaotic entity will deliver on launch.
I love the new mechanics and moves, I can see a lot of crazy stuff coming from the afro thingie. The only thing I'm unhappy with is the removal of Stimulating Fists of Annihilation. That was pretty much Faust's signature move, it's heartbreaking to see it gone. Still, I'm definitely trying him out when the game comes out.

What about his other overdrive , the one where faust bumps into the enemy to protect a clover, and then tries to help the oponent with a wheelchair but instead rams it into their leg instead, Arcsys even made unique reactions for all the characters to it. Gues it wasnt ready for the trailer. Wish they could update this showcase, still good stuff
Surprisingly enough, this character and potemkin seem like the easiest for me to learn a single combo with (the thrust>pull back>home run for faust and something that leads into his spicy grab for potemkin) Was originally hoping to start out with chipp, but this bag guy speaks to me
@@Manganization Their new look has nothing to with the story. The story is a continuation of Rev 2's. Daisuke he just wanted the characters to look less young-anime and more mature-anime. Better for global appeal.

From what i read on the wiki, Faust was a great doctor but then some evil guys sabotaged one of his operations and a girl he was operating on died. This drove him insane so he became a serial killer. Then at some point he regained his sanity and became "Faust" Which is like a deadpool-esque character i guess. The scars from when he went insane are still there, but he's a good guy that goes around trying to help random people to atone for his sins (while holding back his murderous side which is definitely still there just suppressed). That's a summary of his story up until the latest game _i think_ (?) If there are some actual Faust stans they might need to correct stuff or add important bits I missed. Not sure where they went with his story in strive though. He certainly looks... scarier. I kind of like it. He still seems like a good guy under the intimidating exterior though, but that's just how it looks to me. We'll probably know a whole lot more when the game releases
A lot of changes to the once good doctor - the biggest one being the lack of the mystery box super, but hopefully ArcSys will get to it. Oh well... Can't wait for Millia and Zato's movesets!

I wouldn't call him exactly a "joke character" since his backstory and character itself are pretty serious and his backstory is even kinda dark, while most joke characters are mainly characters that are there just for jokes and usually don't do anything important in the main story like the neco-arcs in MB
@@Theclown22 Joke characters are not limited to lenient/positive themes, what matter is the humorous nature. Dark jokes, "normal" jokes, etc.. it doesn't matter, a joke is a joke. As the "serious backstory", let's face it, Guilty Gears is just another convoluted anime story that makes no sense (it's like Nomura, Motomu, Kojima and many others, they have a fetish with messy and over complicated plots and characters)

いまのところ一番変更が多いキャラかな？スケアクロウがどこでもドア(見切りづらくなった？)、リバーサル超必が無いかな？mixが出だしから足元無敵とか、スケアクロウが０F～無敵判定(やりすぎか？)くらいはありそうだけど。
なんか色々とファウスト変わったな。立ち状態が低かったのが普通に立ってるし明るかったのがいきなりシリアスになってファウストのストーリーが気になる。あと刺激的絶命拳はどうなった……メイのリアクション見たかった。

Finally get Faust gameplay and to no one's surprise he's the most wacky and most hard to use looking character in the roster thus far
I don't care how hard he is to use, he's my favorite Guilty Gear character because of the randomness of his item tossing.

Arguably the coolest "joke character" ever made, Faust is just so damn cool
I wouldn't call him exactly a "joke character" since his backstory and character itself are pretty serious and his backstory is even kinda dark, while most joke characters are mainly characters that are there just for jokes and usually don't do anything important in the main story like the neco-arcs in MB
@@Theclown22 Joke characters are not limited to lenient/positive themes, what matter is the humorous nature. Dark jokes, "normal" jokes, etc.. it doesn't matter, a joke is a joke. As the "serious backstory", let's face it, Guilty Gears is just another convoluted anime story that makes no sense (it's like Nomura, Motomu, Kojima and many others, they have a fetish with messy and over complicated plots and characters)
@@RRRRRRRRR33 i mean...you're pretty much right with everything...but i dunno i just don't exactly see faust as a joke character y'know? Like i would count xx's robo-ky way more as a joke character since in there his whole personality is a joke ( being desperate for women, believing that he is supperior to everyone else, living in ky's shadow), doesn't do anything big in the story, and pretty much every interaction involving robo-ky is pretty funny...but then in xrd his role completelly changes so...i dunno, so i pretty much agree with the story thing
