Eland’s have unbelievable athleticism for their size. The antelope equivalent of Zion Williamson. They can jump over 6 feet in the air and as this video shows, can outrun lions not only for distance but also speed. Surprised they aren’t talked about more. Most people don’t know anything about them but to be that big and have that kind of speed is definitely special.
Yep and I really wished they did more documentaries on the Elands,Oryx,Sable,Kudus..Im just really tired of watching Wildebeest and their migration in every documentaries as of they are the only antelopes to exist
Your comments proves again lions are smarter than human (you). Look again those sharp antlers on that eland. One mistake, one unlucky stumble or slide and the lioness is fatally stabbed in the abdomen. The ambushing lioness had the lowest risk , once she missed felling the prey, the others had only suicidal chances. Those big cats always keep a tab on the reward vs. risk, and probably read the ability, maturity and strength of that Eland and the length of those antlers correctly. However you didn't.

Why antipope and most animals ( who having long and strong horns like Eland) are not used it to fight with predators...why they run insted of fighting.... because they have effective weapons in the form of large and strong horns....
@@zomadee1007 , that's not true....that's horns are enough strong to gore a fully grown male lion.....just one shot of horns can open the whole stomach of predators .....
Basic common sense actually..Fight is only for last resort, if you had the option to run then its better to run away and avoid injures since there's no hospital in the wild, even a small injury can prove fatal in the long run so its best to avoid unnecessary fight. But if they had no other option and its life or death situation ofc they will fight back
with lions it's always best to run because you don't know how many there are. same for hyenas. running usually doesn't work against wild dogs as they have endless stamina, so if you can back yourself against an object and stand your ground you might stand a small chance.

Agreed, incredibly fast and have largr motors to keep running. Very audacious task for lions to bring down.

@@vanglhun LOL so true
I didn’t realise how huge this female eland really was until the lions appeared, wow.
never knew they were that quick given how massive they are. WOW
The Eland is very fast to be so massive.
Say that again sorry?
Yeah. Much faster than us, and a big meal for the lions.

That's if the lions can get close enough 😯 to even scratch the skin. 😂
Teamwork is all very well, when every member of the team plays their part. Alternatively this happens ......
I love how the lioness chases the eland past several lions but only one even bothered to try and help her.
