𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, is an episode series celebrating the passion for collecting from the vantage point of art, and other peripheral collections of design, such as watches, jewelry, sneakers, cars, and furniture to name a few.
Footwear entrepreneur and avid art collector, Matthew Chevallard (HOST), visits avid (celebrity) collector’s homes across the country, showcasing various methods of collecting, with art collecting as a focal point.
Informative, cinematic, anecdotal and routed in character, The Art of Collecting is an ode to the golden age of reality tv, and a unique approach to demonstrating the gradual change from one form of collecting to the next, ultimately landing at Art, watches or car collecting.
Set in the United States and inspired by the pop culture phenomenon, MTV Cribs, we explore the crossroads of collecting across many genres, primarily Art collecting.
The series is a chronicle of self-discovery, the battle for connection and self-expression, the realization of one’s wants and desires and ultimately, the comfort in morphing as we age. It invite viewers for a peek into the every day and unexpected lifestyles and approaches of their favorite personalities and families as they welcome us into their homes to view their collections for a one-of-a-kind exclusive tour.

His eye for Art.
A true collector. He harnesses his excitement when he gives tours the same way I do when I'm showing off my (MUCH less expensive) collection. I enjoyed this.
I love Marquez’ thoughts on his pieces and why he chose their location. Very thoughtful.
I love how he knows all of the artists' names and where he acquired the pieces. A lot of times people buy things without caring and it shows. Not in this case =)
Sounds like they are selling it more than appreciating it.
@@ziraprod6090 mmm not really, I find the opposite. When you see home tours, often these people don´t even know what they have (or why their house is styled in such a way), but for me, at least he knows what he is talking about. Nothing about bragging. The whole point of this video Is to share a passion.
@@IMAInteriors You are right - wrong words. Edit: Sounds like they are selling it more than appreciating it.
I only clicked on this and paused 1 second in to say NEVER USE THAT FONT AGAIN
Amazing collection.
Great to see such passion for including the art experience in the home. Congrats for supporting the art that creates an emotional connection.
Wow!!! Inch for square inch, I think Mr. Marquez's collection rivals that of some contemporary museums for quality, for thoughtfulness, for the way it's displayed. I hope he goes ahead with his plans for a public space. I'll definitely be in line!
Yea miami is about to get a sick gallery
i am based in miami and am researching whats kinds of art the high net worth collectors buy. his choices are no surprise to me, but he had discovered them when they were relatively new to the industry. he genuinely seems to enjoy acquiring works and researching them further! one of the most informative and straightforward videos ever.
Astonnishing extraorinarity in one place . Bonkers with passion. Love it !!!
Great eye,Lucky guy!!
Yeah, he ticked all the boxes on the contemporary art, trendy, light weight, must-have bauble list.
The way I just learn so much about a lot of artist in just one video is crazy. Thank you for this episode I love his collections and nice house.... And I think is art collection worth more than the house for sure...
the arts are beautiful and the house to and also its so clean
Love the collection
Omg, I just love, love his home...Beautiful!! ❤️
It's awsome, thanks for this!!!!!! 💜🌻💜
Impressive collection!
His collection is superb 🧐
Thank you.
AMAZING 💙
Great collection
Very inspiring collection, I love the different styles.
Also amazing editing and in general video format. Love it!
Stunning home and collection! Great video!
Absolutely beautiful!
I LOVE this!!
5:45 orange and green..😄
I want to visit that house, just to check, out the Art.
I hATE to admiit it but this guy has an amazing aesthetic
Love it! I've got some quirky art to sell him!
So cool!
What a beautifully reconfigured home, the rooms are light filled and elegant.
With respect, I’m mesmerised how someone could accumulate so much mediocre ‘art’ in one place ...
Nagol Hayze, thank you for putting what I was thinking so respectfully.
Definitely the nava is my favorite piece...and there is something special about jordy kerwick
Now THIS has serious potential. Subscribe. ✊
Greaaaatt collection i love how its all seriously new artists. Wonderful eye. Living the best life for sure, itd be hard to wake up on the wrong side of the bed in that home, though IMHO I do feel with how amazing the home was the primary bedroom felt a little lacking
It's easy to get impressed when someone has a lot of money and can purchase expensive stuff, but this collection lacks maturity and longevity.
It looks like how a 20 year old would dream of. But i think that the collection has value. So if his taste matures he could sell it. Alot of people make alot of money and buy mostly stuff that`s not going up in price. I agree that the collection lacks matureity, but i think his taste is going to evolve. He do care about the artists. It also looks like the collection of people who smoke alot of weed
@@Ikaros23 "It also looks like the collection of people who smoke alot of weed" 😂😂😂
I agree. This collection is mostly fashionable, trendy pieces. The Genesis Tremaine, his home, and the overall presentation are all stunning, but the collection indeed lacks maturity and looks looks like it won't stand the test of time.
It’s a collection of the things he likes. Just like artist create with the freedom of their decision making, he collects with the freedom of his purchasing power. The collection doesn’t need to be “mature” by your standards.
Children's corner
I would like him to check out Komatsu Miwa. I think he will like her art.;)
Personal taste is an individual thing but I'm shocked that with so much resources at his disposal, this collection doesn't match the sophistication of the space or his apparent maturity.
well said. i was looking for the words. One or two Kaws - OK.... But?
Same. Doesn't do it for me at all. In fact, it's quite immature. But of course beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. Good for him. But not AT ALL my style. Still, a very interesting video nonetheless.
This is the definition of a lightweight collection. What a pile of schmaltzy, glitzy, and shallow market-based nonsense. If you are going to center your collection around the likes of Emily Mae Smith, KAWS, and Nicholas Party, you have already lost your way.
Facts.
100% agree. Oooouuufff. But, if that's what he loves, then good for him. I suppose there's literally something for EVERYONE.

Otani Workshop
i collect mid century modern.. LOLZ.... furniture is from ikea... btw. leila/star wars, vinyl dolls... sooo old / outdated
His furniture is most definitely not from ikea. Lol.
P o w e r
"we all have storage units, we can´t live with our art" what the f, how far removed can you be from normal life :D apart from that, nice video though
Visually it works but the majority of the collection will be landfill in 50 years. You may say jealousy but very little art survives the test of time and the contemporary scene is cluttered with mediocre hypebeast'y frivolity.
terrible taste - except the broom lady
nightmare
only thing worse than the "art" is the "art on 7:35 LOLZ scribbles ...
It's anti- art
