In this video, we'll explore the reasons why it's advisable to hold off on purchasing these new SUVs right now. Presently, dealerships are experiencing a decrease in overall car sales due to elevated interest rates and supply constraints. Consequently, many dealers are inflating vehicle prices by tacking on an extra cost on top of the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), particularly for the models that are in high demand.
A recent study conducted by iSeeCars sheds light on the leading makes and models where buyers are encountering the steepest percentage increase over the MSRP. Notably, certain SUVs fall into this category, and they continue to be in strong demand despite limited availability at dealerships.

If we all Don’t pay the mark up - they’ll do away with it. 👌

They did! Now cutting prices just to sell something! MSRP prices hurt enough, but 8-10k over is more than I would ever pay, just walk!!

I’ve been looking at Toyotas and is disheartening to see $20k markups on the nicer models. Yikes! 😡

Never play their game. If everyone boycotts them then it ends.

@@billlawrence123 - Yours and my boycotts will not help, love the sentiment, but it’s the American way to charge whatever the market will bear. This is why the chips act was so critical, when Trump levied tariffs against China, companies shifted their contracts to Taiwan, resulting in shortages for 6 years (3 now) as Taiwan must build new plants to take up the slack. Having even subsidized chip plants in America will help decrease these effects in the future.

If I cannot get a discount off MSRP, as the old tune goes “walk on by”! Depreciation on most cars is bad enough but add on pricing, won’t buy it!

Me neither! Especially with so many new cars anything but trouble free! No thanks!

Tip. Look up the car. There are sites that record the prices paid. I picked a number slightly higher and said I’ll give you this much. Then began the dance of ‘We’re Off to See the Manager’. I said , fine. If his number doesn’t match my number I’m gone. They both came back with the add ons saying maybe they could reduce those. I was already out the door. Before I got to my car they both came back saying they THOUGHT they could bring it down. To which i said you know the number. They agreed…..in the parking lot

When you have an accident insurance will not give you xx% for your overpriced car. When the high demand is over you pay still interest on your additional cost. Selling, you will lose your additional cost, too. Demand is only for a shorter time. I keep my older car from A - B. Even I look not so good, doesn't matter. Important is what you have in your head and what you can accomplish. I am an engineer, have 8 cars and all are paid. My neighbor paid over $ 1,000 monthly for his car to look good when he drives to the church.

I looked around in my area, did not see dealer mark ups for Genesis GV80/70, MB GLE 450e, Lexus RX350h. They are in short supply and there are long waiting lists.

People are buying Porsche at the world Dealers! Orlando’s one has a great price for a Macan. As Audi also does for its cars. Actually the Audi Q5 and the Porsche Macan are not that different if you get a loaded Q5. I am driving both and the Macan is better at horsepower and that’s it for me.
Mercedes otherwise is going crazy! And it is not keeping its value well.

More money than good sense. I now they will not miss me. There are several midsize SUV'S that fit my needs and also my budget. I never had the Cadillac syndrome.

Just bought a GV80...absolutely love it. It's at least Mercedes/Porsche level (if not better) at a lesser price.

Greedflation will kill this market. It will be nobody but the greedy dealers fault. Keeping my 2018 Subaru.

Seems to be doing just that since prices are having a Downside workout! We’re staying with 12 year old Dakota! So far so good!

We’re keeping our 2011 Dakota, bought back when a CC loaded sold for 38,000! and they willingly dropped 2000 plus off to get a sale.
