I just love how those wooden lids for the glass storage jars, or bowl, actually also serve as a coaster. Quite handy if the jar has been microwaved or heated in the oven, and then just place it on the lid!
I use the ikea bags are laundry bags. They are big enough to take a huge load of laundry to the basement and because they have handles, I can throw them over my shoulder and have my hands free. It has just been during this year that I hear so much about throw pillow covers in videos from English-speaking countries, just as much as I hear about how to put your duvet cover on by grabbing the inner edges etc. This is quite interesting and fascinating ... in Germany, we are used to having throw pillow covers rather than having tons of throw pillows. We are also used to putting covers on our blankets (we do not have duvets, each person has their own blanket 😉) and pillowcases by grabbing the inner edges of the cover and those of the blanket/pillow and pull the cover over it. It is great what social media can do for cultural exchange 😍🥰 Love your channel. You are so authentic and nice.
Yes, I'm always surprised when shops just sell the cover and cushion together. I remember them always being available separately when I was younger, and some shops still do today, here in the UK. I don't want to store cushions, so even if I like a cover I might not buy the whole item. It's always possible to buy a new cushion for an old cover, although it depends on whether it's a standard size or not.
I ALWAYS want to buy some stuff from that section every time I'm there 😂 The one closest to me has a bunch of furniture. I'm always like "???" since there are so many colleges and PEOPLE around. Maybe the stuff gets donated?
I have found fabulous stuff there: a lovely patterned armchair cover set, that was a limited edition and I wanted but couldn't afford at full price (I found it in the odds & ends fabric bin for less than £10!); a Nikkeby two drawer chest for half price; a Muskan shelving unit for £10 (already put together, so it might have been ex-display); and one that I didn't buy - the Jonaxel 3 tier shelving unit for £12. When I went home, I measured my counter top freezer and realised that the unit would have been the perfect size, plus the raised bars would (and do) keep the freezer from moving when I open the door. I ended up paying £29 (which is very reasonable) for it. It's definitely worth looking at that section, especially if you know the dimensions of what you want the item for. I bought the armchair covers and the Muscan unit many years ago and they're still going strong.
I'm all for helping people, but Ikea is a business and many people fonate their old furniture when they buy new. (Why colleges, btw?) I have moved from one city aptm to another with IKEA bags....they are so cool Balenciaga copied it and sold his for $2000😳😳 Best of all, if yours breaks they will replace it (at least that is true in Europe)
Tried buying the big ones this year (I have one and it’s awesome) and the store is no longer selling the large ones, only a smaller version 😐 I asked just to be sure. I am in PA, USA so maybe other stores still sell the huge ones ?
@@deboraballes9044 I didn't know they'd replace a broken bag! Thanks for the tip! I'll see if they do in the UK next time I visit, as I do have one that is starting to come apart after many years of use

For parents taking their kids to college, IKEA makes these huge duffle bags made out of the same plastic material as their blue shopping bags. They hold a ton, are easy to store in the dorm room when empty, and were very handy to use again when we moved our son out of his dorm.
@@GameOver-jq1cu oh that's a double smart. In another post of somebody, guess it was about Aldi's comment, someone said they leave their bags in their car. They have to go out there anyway. So they take their cart out to their car and they load all their crap in the bags at their car. Oh my God what a radical concept. 😎❤️💥 I had to laugh out loud at how helpful it was. So sometimes I bring in a bag or two. Depends on the weather in Florida. But I thought the other ideals is kind of a smart thing to think about.
I live in a 4th floor walk up building, on the top floor. It's great for views, but bad for laundry in the basement. The blue IKEA bags hold a load of laundry perfectly.:-)
Also they have beautiful colors of solid pillow cases if you are a crafty person and like to paint, screen print, etc but don’t want to sew your own, Ikea has you covered.
Just an interesting FYI. The big IKEA bag the blue one and then the pride bag will hold up to 40 pounds of stuff. And they will hold about 15 boxes of cereal if you're on a run for a food pantry at your church also. They store a heck of a lot of stuff.
I use our rainbow bags most for pillows! They're the perfect size for 3 standard bed pillows, when going camping. If, as my DD is, you're concerned about the bag not closing, just fill the bag then invert another one over the top, flip upside down and carry it that way. 🙂

Great video, as always! It wasn’t until my daughter was in preschool and came home calling them “tissues” instead of Kleenex that I realized how much we do that. Kind of ironic that I prefer Puffs but will still ask my husband to hand me a Kleenex! 😂
The only products, that I can think of, which we commonly use the brand name for in the UK are sellotape and hoovers. Many people also say that they hoover the house, instead of vacuum. I didn't even realise that these were brand names, for many years. Blu-tack is often the only adhesive putty available, so it also gets referred to by the brand name. There are lots of brand names that have come to be used generically, by everyone, like velcro and super glue. But I find the American habit of calling all tissues Kleenex, all food containers Tupperware, all plasters Band-aid, all PVA glue Elmers quite odd. I think because these are such everyday items that either pre-dated the brand, or were quickly copied and made by other companies. I think that it says a lot about the power of advertising!
I made it a point to make sure my kids knew the real name of items instead of the brand names. It was an adjustment for me, but I’m happy I did it. The hardest one to get rid of imo is bandaid.
8:36 The Swedish alphabet has 3 extra letters, Å Ä and Ö. Those aren't A:s and O, but different letters. Å is pronounced similar to Au (like in Australia) Ä is pronounced similar to Ai (like in Air) Ö is pronounced similar to Ea (like in Earn), or U (like in Urn). So "Lörby" would be pronounced similar to the beginning of "learn"..."Learby". (Lörby is a small village in southern Sweden. A lot of IKEA products are named after places in Scandinavia)
Love Ikea, in general, but especially for their kids stuff. We bought the mega paper roll & holder & it has gotten so much use. We've made huge birthday signs, during the quarantine we made signs to post on Grammas' door, get well signs for neighbors...it's amazing the ideas you get with unlimited paper. Plus their tea set with some of the fabric food goodies have kept the kids occupied for hours! And we've had the set for 4 years & only have one chip!
I literally made one of those armchair tables out of wood rulers and a little make up bag from DT 😂 I wish there was an IKEA near me 😭. I have never been but this stuff looks so cool! My closest one is in San Diego like an hour and a half away and I don't have a car atm. I'm going to ask my mom if she wants to go to IKEA next weekend! 😂😀
Definitely go. It will be like a day’s outing. Make sure to have lunch there! My mom and brother came to visit me in Germany and loved their IKEA experience. My mom loves going to the ikea in Chicago, but regrets that the one in her town in St. Louis is not really in the best part of town
Same it’s all Tupperware and ziplocks girl. I’m from Alabama and all soft drinks are coke lol if you ask me if I wanna coke I’m gonna say sure I’ll take sprite 🤣 may just be a southern thing
This just popped up and we’d literally just come back from IKEA. Bought the rubber jar covers, didn’t even realise there was a small one, which has gone straight on the end of a cucumber. Got the plastic bathroom caddy with the suction cups which is really sturdy and stays on and the “Zip lock” bags which were great value. Love the room sets there, such great ideas for storage.
We have had a kids table for 12 years and still use it. I tend to use the chairs instead of a step stool. IKEA bags are the best. We use them for pumpkin picking and for towels at the beach. ❤️
I only buy kitchen towels that have a hook! Didn't know IKEA had them... I keep a big bag in the garage to collect stuff to go to the thrift store. When I no longer need something I add it, and then take when it is full. 🙂
Chapstick is the brand name! I always say I'm looking for my chapstick but I don't actually use Chapstick, I usually use Carmex or Burt's Bees. We ALL do it 😂
So much fun to watch. I'm a foster mom and I'm always looking for cool stuff for them to do .I totally forgot about the kid's area at Ikea. I'm going to take a trip there to see what I find. Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorite outings when my first was young was to grab coffee and just let him play in the kids section! They always have some toys out, and it was good for an hour or two of fun and distraction.
The overmatt silicone set is wonderful! The pink one works perfectly on the 3oz size cat food cans. Teal size is great for that half of a tomato, onion, etc. when you don't want/need to use the whole thing. The tiny white one isn't used as much for my house, but it does work well on bottles, bananas, and cucumbers. They are dishwasher safe, but I never feel like they are cleaned as well in the dishwasher. I hand wash mine, flip them inside out to look like a jellyfish/shower cap, and set them on top of some other dishes so air can flow around them. My hubby was skeptical when I brought them home, but he admits now that they are one of the most useful items I ever bought from IKEA.
This is the one item I really want to buy. I have silicone covers for dishes, but small ones for individual items of fruit and veg sounds like a great idea.
🤨 what in the habadashery? Our local Ikea kids sections sucks so bad. I’ve never seen half of this stuff. Every time I go it’s a disaster/disappointment 🥲
Literally the ONLY place I have ever seen an IKEA is online in videos. Of course, I live in Central Maine. We have 857 Dunkin Donut shops. But no IKEA!
Thanks Kallie, as always an informative video. IKEA is a great store definitely worth taking a trip there. It’s a nice place to walk around and look at everything. Sometimes you come across some cool and different things that are worth getting.
Nah, I don't like the IKEA ziploc bags. Because they don't have the actual zipper part that makes the real zip locks so much more convenient than all these other plastic bags. They only have the "tracks" or whatever you call them and you have to press them together yourself. Where you have to make sure you align the "tracks" which can be a fuss if you have bulky stuff in the bag. With a real zip lock, you just slide the zipper part, no alignment necessary. And the real ones are sturdy as hell, too. I re-use and wash them, they last a long, long time. We mostly use them for freezing bread, so they don't really get dirty but you really want to be quick when you take out a couple of slices and stick the rest back into the freezer. That's why the zipper part is so important to me.
It’s funny how everyone’s going on about the brand names being used for all the items (proper brand or not), but no one’s talking about how the food saving stretchy things are like condoms for food!! Food Condoms!! 😂
I love those big bags to transport my Cricut Maker. It fits inside so nicely and the bag is super sturdy that I don’t worry about it going through the bottom while I carry it. Thanks for showing some great products I had been wondering about!
Omg I LOVE the rainbow tote bag! I've actually never been to an Ikea (there aren't any in my area) but I love seeing all the knick-knacks. I'd definitely put the USB port to good use!
I've got one of those rainbow bags, it is definitely awesome! I agree about the usb port, I think I'll be getting one next time I go to IKEA! Ps, how far away is your nearest IKEA? It's definitely worth a visit, but allow plenty of time! I don't have any near me but I do make a special trip every so often
The bamboo tops are gorgeous, but they aren't dishwasher safe D: I use the locking plastic ones instead and I've had mine for 2 years now and they look the same as ever.
Wow! This is an awesome video! I had no idea that these products were available at IKEA! We don't have a store here in Wichita, Kansas where I live but I have ordered some things online from IKEA. Thank you so much! 💕
Sorry for multiple comments..but can anyone confirm that different countries have different IKEA stocks? A lot of times I see, specially from America, posts with great stuff I’m sure we don’t have here in Oz? And thanks, this was interesting. Just to see something that’s not furniture, and not, oh, this is how you can flip this to look high - end.
Did you know they use "pyrex" on deep sea manned vehicles? The hardened glass holds up against the pressure better than any other material that has been tested for windows/view ports.
Please break that habit & do not use the Brand names. There are multiple good reason for this. 1st most basic, you are advertising for them without compensation. 2nd, as a business that you are, using their name on a product that is not, can get you in hot water for copyright infringement. 3rd you are doing a disservice to all the other fabulous products out there by promoting the “name” brand and not the product you want to share. It’s not hard, it’s a habit. Be better, please.
Nice! Im going to IKEA next week, this gave me a better idea of what to look for. I havent seen the pet-section before!! Need to check it out for my cat
Just a suggestion to you on the Ikea 365 label. All of their cookware can be used on induction cooking. It has a magnetized bottom. Because some of their stuff you can't use on induction. An induction is getting more and more popular but it Hass to have a magnetic bottom. I always carry a magnet with me when I'm out through shopping or IKEA or any place else and that's how you can find that out. So the 365 line which those little things with the wood tops are from. Just made me trigger my mind about the cookware with the 365 line

@@mariac4602 in Europe we still get the big bags. I live in a big city and many people use public transportation so a big bag is essential to cart things home....If I knew I would be traveling to the US sometime soon I offer to send you a dozen😅😅👍
(They might sell them to you online🤔)
For parents taking their kids to college, IKEA makes these huge duffle bags made out of the same plastic material as their blue shopping bags. They hold a ton, are easy to store in the dorm room when empty, and were very handy to use again when we moved our son out of his dorm.
Also amazing g for dragging laundry to and from the laundromat
I will not go to Aldi with out my big blue IKEA bag✅
@@GameOver-jq1cu oh that's a double smart. In another post of somebody, guess it was about Aldi's comment, someone said they leave their bags in their car. They have to go out there anyway. So they take their cart out to their car and they load all their crap in the bags at their car. Oh my God what a radical concept. 😎❤️💥 I had to laugh out loud at how helpful it was. So sometimes I bring in a bag or two. Depends on the weather in Florida. But I thought the other ideals is kind of a smart thing to think about.
And they have a matching trolley
Zalando sells big bags 2! Weekend, duffle and bowling bags then you can chose a nice color and some design to enjoy life
I live in a 4th floor walk up building, on the top floor.
No pun intended 😉
Just an interesting FYI. The big IKEA bag the blue one and then the pride bag will hold up to 40 pounds of stuff. And they will hold about 15 boxes of cereal if you're on a run for a food pantry at your church also. They store a heck of a lot of stuff.
I use our rainbow bags most for pillows! They're the perfect size for 3 standard bed pillows, when going camping. If, as my DD is, you're concerned about the bag not closing, just fill the bag then invert another one over the top, flip upside down and carry it that way. 🙂
I use mine to carry laundry to the laundry mat. It hasn't ripped or torn on me yet.
@@jenstark9452 oh my..u are just too smart for my own good. Ha ha thx. It's strange how the obvious can be inobvious at times. And then someone says, "oh by the way…." And then you read it and it's so smart. So thank you....
@@FLdancer00 good idea. Considering how I have six cats and I like to toss the bags on the floor for them to play in, and they haven't destroyed them yet, it would be perfect for laundry without it getting ripped up. Great idea. Thx.
I see Fl in your screen name. Would you happen to be a Florida person? I'm Central Florida gal. . Whatever that means. But that's where I am now anyway. So peace and blessings to you. Speaking only for myself I'm cold. But no one asked. Gail in Central Florida Friday, January 28, 2022. And I just covered some of the plants because I read we're going to have a little bit of colder freeze-type weather. I am not a yard person. I am not that AR. Ha ha. So I didn't cover any of my weeds with tarp. Just let it freeze. As long as it's green I don't care I don't care if it's a weed or grass
@@gailremp8389 Yep, born & raised in Orlando. Hi Gail! 👋
I have stuffed Hand puppets that my brother gave my kids over 24 years ago and a pop up puppet theatre m there loved them .
IKEA’s kitchen towels are awesome - I love the hanging loop! Their bath towels (esp the hand towels) are also a favorite.
Stuffed animals for kiddos! We are doing a dino room for my 3yo and they have such variety and sizes and they are machine washable!
Great video, as always! It wasn’t until my daughter was in preschool and came home calling them “tissues” instead of Kleenex that I realized how much we do that. Kind of ironic that I prefer Puffs but will still ask my husband to hand me a Kleenex! 😂
We always called them tissues
Velcro and superglue too!
Wait. Tupperware is a brand name???😂😂
The rechargeable batteries and lightbulbs are also fabulous.
I did not know ikea had fabric. I also love the bowls with interchanging lids.
I am all about Ikea's lingonberry and elder flower jellies and concentrates and their frozen salmon.
You made this so fun and I loved the cameo of your adorable shopping buddy too. didn't want it to end 🙁
Fun fact:~ the more we call a container "Tupperware" the more likely the brand can lose their copyright.
8:36 The Swedish alphabet has 3 extra letters, Å Ä and Ö. Those aren't A:s and O, but different letters.
Å is pronounced similar to Au (like in Australia)
Ä is pronounced similar to Ai (like in Air)
Ö is pronounced similar to Ea (like in Earn), or U (like in Urn).
So "Lörby" would be pronounced similar to the beginning of "learn"..."Learby". (Lörby is a small village in southern Sweden. A lot of IKEA products are named after places in Scandinavia)
You had me at Kevin Bacon and Footloose.
Their wooden train sets are a steal and you can mix it with the higher end wooden train sets, great for making huge train lay outs
I call all lip balms a chapstick lol. Oh and all bandages are band-aids!
I thought that. Why not make your own? $15 is expensive. Good on you!
@@JanineMJoi with the amount of rulers needed you’d probably end up spending $15
You will love ikea, be sure to eat in the Cafe!
I’m from Alabama and all soft drinks are coke lol if you ask me if I wanna coke I’m gonna say sure I’ll take sprite 🤣 may just be a southern thing
yup! a southern thing🤍
Why is everyone saying « price point » instead of « price » in UA-cam videos? Lol
Do you know if it's made of food-safe silicone?
@@FourJaysFour I’m assuming so they, are BPA (Bisphenol A) free if that helps.
Those bowls that had the multiple types of lids is genius. I loved those.
I’m legitimately surprised people don’t correct you about adding an “s” to Tupperware instead 😂😂😂
Yeah. That's was I noticed too.
I call them Tupperware.
@@lql1094 Lol..bc it is Tupperware!
May I add the cellphone stand made of bamboo it is $.99 😃 you can take ain anywhere and is very useful
Awesome!! Thank you, I was planning on making a trip to IKEA soon!!! I'm definitely going to get a few of the things you mentioned.
Chapstick is the brand name! I always say I'm looking for my chapstick but I don't actually use Chapstick, I usually use Carmex or Burt's Bees. We ALL do it 😂
Yep. Customers ask me for chapstick and I ask which brand, since different brands are all in different spots in my store.
Kleenex seems to be very common in Oz for tissues
I wish we had an IKEA close by. I’d be in there all day.
Ikea is one of my favorite places to shop you absolutely never know what you're going to find. So many functional things
IKEA'S like a box o' chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get
So much fun to watch. I'm a foster mom and I'm always looking for cool stuff for them to do .I totally forgot about the kid's area at Ikea. I'm going to take a trip there to see what I find. Thanks for sharing!
Good for you…..God bless you:) 🙏
One of my favorite outings when my first was young was to grab coffee and just let him play in the kids section! They always have some toys out, and it was good for an hour or two of fun and distraction.
@@nicelizreu1 I did this too when I was a new mom. My children thought it was an official play area 😅
Same, hahaha
Get reusable sandwich bags and help the environment instead of adding to the plastic problem.
Be careful. I've seen other creators get smacked down with Cease and Desist letters by the various brand name companies!
I love mine so much. Perfect for cat food tins and super easy to clean.
I say Tupperware. I say Ziplock. And I say Kleenex. I’m sure I say many more.
Don’t buy the pillow insert! Store out of season clothes in your pillow! Great space saver
What a great idea - but what about dust etc?
🤯
Pricepoint? why not just call it price?
🤨 what in the habadashery? Our local Ikea kids sections sucks so bad. I’ve never seen half of this stuff. Every time I go it’s a disaster/disappointment 🥲
Yikes that drink over the arm chair thing does NOT look too stable! Just breathing on it might topple it over. Otherwise the stuff is pretty cool.
So true. And the way they put different rooms together, I always come away with lots of photographs of ideas to think about in my own house!
I always refer to the items as “Tupperware “, “ziplock “ and “Saran wrap”! Yes it’s wrong, but everyone knows what you mean! 🤣
Don't forget Kleenex!
Like calling a vacuum cleaner a hoover. Everyone says they're hoovering their floors regardless of the brand of vacuum cleaner they have
I got their big plain doormats and cut them in half and I am going to do some diy designs on them
I love those big bags to transport my Cricut Maker. It fits inside so nicely and the bag is super sturdy that I don’t worry about it going through the bottom while I carry it.
Thanks for showing some great products I had been wondering about!
The overmatts are SOOOOO awesome. I have a set and I love them. Thinking I might need one more set. Love them.
Zip top, Is what some of my other UA-camrs use
Just mentioned, after the third time watching this video 😅 the "ö" is pronounced like the u in "turn".
Those overmatts are everything. I love them so much that I bought two. I even plan on giving them as Christmas gifts.
I bought the inserts and found I had to double them as the pillows were so thin with one insert. I’m not convinced it’s such a good deal. 🙃
Who knew??!! This was so helpful and informative! TYSMFS!!
USB Charger, sold! Lol 🤩 Thank you for this fun information!
Also with the couch edge drink holder I also use it as lap top holder when I’m on the couch or in bed 👍🏻
The vegetable set is precious!
If it's plastic it's Tupperware, if it's glass it's pyrex. Can't convince me otherwise.
Did you know they use "pyrex" on deep sea manned vehicles? The hardened glass holds up against the pressure better than any other material that has been tested for windows/view ports.
Thank you for all your great vlogs and the awesome information you share. Love watching you
Great ideas but ,like, you don't, like, have to say "like" 3 times in, like, every sentence, like, like, like......
Another tip for pillows... Pillow forms can be pricey. Buy pillows on clearance (regardless of the color) and then put a new cover on.
I also call them Tupperware and ziplocks lol. Who cares what people say???
The overmatt are made from silicone. IKEA also has two other much bigger silicone covers (light blue) that stretch over big serving dishes,.
YES KALIE! all food storage containers are Tupperwere an YES they are all ziplocs. I am so glad Im not the only one LOL!
I gave never been in an IKEA store. We don't have one near by. However, this was a fun video to watch.
That was fun. Most Ikea videos are kind of boring but this was fun! Thanks.
Great video! Loved the rundown on Ikea items. That kids table is the bomb! I love ours
Is it that I'm now a grownup that tupperware and organisers excite me or am I just boring?
I subscribed JUST because of your shirt!!! Rock on dance on!!
Love these tips! Something I've found is that Crate & Barrell has GREAT down pillow forms that are very affordable too! ;)
Would not have thought this. Thank you!
I really like those squishy bowl covers, the pillow covers (great price!), the re-sealable storage bags, and the door mats. Super cute!
