- The Mirage 4000 is the plane I thought would be the least effective when it was first shown in the dev stream with only R.530Fs, but boy oh boy was I wrong. Has it EVER had a ton of changes to it.

For the countermeasures, there is a bug report that say it should carry 336 chaffs on top of 112 flares. Devs said that they only allow the IR part of the pod for now and will implement the massive ammount of chaff when the separation mechanic of flares/chaffs will be added.

While it only has 112 CMs compared to 240 on F-15, the 112 CMs are large calibers which helps against missiles with IRCCM
Magics2 IRCCM should also be better than R73, they use a CO2 detector to differenciate engine and flare. And when Gaijin gonna work on 2plan for missiles, they gonna reach 50G :)
Lot of room for improvement.
Meanwhile the AIM-9M is begging to just get it's 45 - 50G. Even the 9L is supposed to be a 40g missile.

The magic 2 will get 50Gs if we can prove that it was always capable of pulling it. Implementing two plane missile pull is both taxing and bad for gameplay. I don't want a missile going from doing 35Gs to doing 50 because I changed the direction of my pull 😅

@PotatoeJoe69 at absolute most the 9L is a 35G missile. all the sources I can find only put it at 32Gs of lateral acceleration, with a 35G potential in absolute perfect circumstances. 9Ls do not and will never pull 40Gs
Finally! Someone did a video on the M4k. I chose to grind it over the F15 and SU27 and I can't wait to get home to spade it. One step closer to that Beautiful Rafale.
Do it. I just spaded it and it's the best plane 1v1 hands down. The problem is it's outclassed in the missile department.

Huge W. Love the jet. The only real downside for me is the lack of thermals on the targeting pod. People have put reports in about this im hoping Gaijin will give it the same pod the Mirage 2000 has. The only reason its not there is that the prototype stopped testing before they installed that pod on the m2k. But no one really questions that it was planned to carry the same equipment and would have if it went into production, so its really unnecessary to hold it off. If people want true realism then only one player in all of war thunder should have this because only one was ever built and its currently sitting in a museum.
They already do what you are saying with the 530D. It did not carry it because it was a prototype. But it was meant to carry the 530D. But targeting pod Damocles came really late, in 2000s so I don't feel that is as OK as the 530D. Btw the HMD on the 2000-5 is 2010s french tech. France did not have it before (even first rafale did not have it)
@@KilogrammeKG the 530D was already available while the M 4000 was still being flown. Just no proof they ever fitted it since it was like 6 months overlap or something. Sure it's an easier case. But they've already implemented planned future tech for Yak 141 so this wouldn't be first time.

I saw somewhere the Mirage 4K should have the CLDP pod as on the mirage 2KD. Hopefully we get this change

Managed to get my SU-27 earlier and I’m just so happy to fly it, such an amazing looking aircraft honestly. (Also messed around in customs with brother in his gripen doing 1v1s and funky manoeuvres)

@@nicolaspeigne1429 Italy main here only reason were complaining is because we didn't get anything other than the AMX which is about 2 years too late. That's not even the main thing Italian mains don't really worry about the air tree that much we were all hoping for the Centauro B2 to be released this patch.

To be fair, there are lots of prototype tanks in the American and Soviet tech trees also. T34, T92, Object 270, etc.
Oh I've got no problems with it, I was just a little surprised they decided to implement it after all
I don't know if the external fuel tanks were supposed to be ejectable IRL, but in-game it's not possible to do that mechanically. If you think back to the time the F-16AJ was being implemented, there was talk about it not receiving its two landing gear door hardpoints because those could be shot off, and Gaijin said that would be too much work/impossible to implement. I assume the reasoning is the same here, ejecting the fuel tank would mean hardpoints getting detached which the code can't account for.
Pretty sure ALL external tanks IRL are drop tanks.

Hi Sir! Regarding the external tanks with hard points for Magic 2, they are very similar to the non-ejectable supersonic tanks of the Mirage III/V family and its derivative MADNAP that had hard points to carry bombs. I assume that the Super Mirage 4000 is a derivative of these, which is why it is not possible to eject them once the missiles are fired.

But I use the Mirage 5f and Milan all the time and they do get dropped when bombs are empty

Just got it today. I play sim.
I found the radar (and to a lesser extent hmd) severely Lacking I had better dogfight performance and radar in the m2k 5F
I don't play sim, and I've only used the M4K in test flight so far, but I was immediately missing the M2K 5F radar. It's so much harder to use since it seemed like all the radar modes only had HDN.
@@tino6176 really big setback :(. I’ll finish the mod grind, but so far it isn’t even that powerful in a dogfight. But I’m still figuring it out. I’ve had more luck killing f-15s in m2k
The dash 5 has the much later RDY radar while the 4k was only planned with the RDM 3 which is a RDM updated with some RDI (of the 2000C ) components (though the CW emitter can be fitted to any RDM)
@@jeandelacroix6726 so your telling me the terrible radar is accurate. Is there any hope they upgrade it? I hate that we get a downgrade while everyone else is similar, the same, or better.
@DotVanish the only way to get RDY on a twin engine is if you get the prototype Rafale A ( M2000 ended with RDY as USSR fall put aside the need for another plane for another 10 years)

Buncha people are grinding the Gripen. Grind the M4k. Not many are grinding it, which means that not only will you be unique, more importantly people are going to have a harder time dealing with it due to rarity.
Gripen might be slightly easier to use due to HMS and longer ranged missiles, but the Mirage is nasty when it comes to 1v1... On the odd occasion that happens

Despite all the jokes about there only being 5 Sweden mains when clearly there are 12… I’ve been seeing a lot of gripens, and I don’t think I’ve seen a single m4k in arb yet. Truly scared when people realize how good it is
I'd love to play the Mirage 4000 if it wasnt stuck behind a 1050k RP grind for me. Its so fucking stupid that they put it behind the F8. Bought a talisman for the 2k5F for nothing
Magic2s feels trash for me compared to 9ms and r73 sometimes misses from rear aspect 1-1.2km

I've been enjoying the Gripen A granted it is the only new top tier I have but it has been fun. I just wish the missiles didn't get the red box highlighting them so they could actually take advantage of the smokeless motor but still good fun. Haven't unlocked the CAS options for it yet but I can't wait to try them out
I went for the m4k first also, mainly bc is looked like the underdog of the list and i wanted to work my way up to get a feel for them all. Not a fan of it lacking the helmet locking feature. If u end up in a dogfight with a r73 or 9m, they'll have a missile advantage over you. They'll be able to launch a missile while you won't. 2nd dilemma is the magic 2 seem to need that 2km sweet spot window to land a hit while the rest are fairly comfortable under 5km. So you have to get much closer to targets to land kills. Other than those two issues, it's been pretty fun to fly.

Ehhhh, probably not
France getting this gives me hope for some other French inclusions, both prototype and not. Mirage IV, perhaps in the F-100 line, maybe a couple versions of the G-Series, with one being a non-prem after the F-8 and one being a prem. The Strikemaster being in the battlepass also perhaps makes room for us getting the Magister?

general lee i had small bvr with su27 i shot my r530d at 11km first and he shot his r27er like 2or 3 second after and mine retch him first and hisr27er was just like inch from hitting me like 0.5km way but i never experience that with aaim7m i had the same head on with my f16c and mig29 i shot my 7m and took mg29 3 second to lunch his but oh boy i didn't feel confidant and broke way
