Don't forget that compared to the pod on the Mirage 2000D you have the DAMOCLES with three times the magnification and third generation thermals! It's the highest magnification in the game (for aircraft) with IIRC x96 zoom
Wouldn't be quite 3rd gen, in game it would be gen 2+, it's 1080x720, which is very similar to the helicopter gen 2+ resolution of 1024x768. Gen 3 would be 1200x800. The A-6E (due to a bug) also got a thermal resolution upgrade, it uses now the helicopter resolution of 1024x768, but only if you have the NVD mod equipped I believe. Also according to datamines, the highest zoom will soon go to the Jaguar A and E, with 12x-150x zoom roughly (from 6x-25x it is now). They are not FLIR pods tho, so it's not nearly as good still. Not sure if this is really an upgrade altogether either, it will be more annoying to use if you don't have a zoom axis binded and losing the wider fov is kinda sad as well.
TV guidance was improved recently, when launching in POINT mode it can switch to TRACK in flight without exploding, so now you can do 20km yeets with PGMs (though ground vehicles don't render in at that range I think so you still have to be a bit closer)
you missed the fact that you can take the 2000D along side it since its an attacker As for the difference between the leclerc S1 is the base variants, the S2 got its embarqued electronic upgraded, recieve an AC (the big pack on top of the turrets and irl recieve a DU round and the SXXI got an global imprvement to its fcs, modernising all the sights (in game it get a citv that is more boxy than the one found n the previous modele), and its composite has been upgraded with titanium (and the bigger armor block on front of the optics.
as far as in game goes, the various Leclercs are practically identical apart from the points you've mentionned, IRL it was subsequent upgrades, some to systems, some to reliability, rarely to performance, I'd like to see the reload buffed to 5.5s at least personally or at least a new shell since the OFL 120 F1 is in the game since May 2019 and quite a few better shells have been made since for the Leclercs
Only problem about this aircraft is that it has a pretty low missile count compared to other jets at its BR. It’s pretty solid even with the drawbacks tho.
@@irgiefarras2159 Yeah, but MICA are quite considerably better, with long ranges (especially for the IR variant), 50Gs with engines on, 30-35Gs engines off, potent IRCCM, and used by a plane with a far better radar. Gone will be the days when the mig29 will be able to shot first and not care about incoming enemy missiles. I expect the arrival of somethings like mig31 and su27 to compete with their sheer load of missiles.

the difference between the S.1 and S2 are , better cooling fins on the breaks and sponsons (you can see it in game) the big box in the back of the turret is an NBC-AC unit, some appliqué armor on the sponsons (modeled in game) and then it's mostly battlefield datalink on thing to mention, is that the Leclerc should not have more exhauts fumes when accelerating because of it's Hyperbar engine

There's a thread about both on the forums, the UFP is an absolute tragedy and there's a video of the most ridiculous kill ever due to the insane spalling: A shell going above and parallel to the track kills all crew members. - Mobility is underperforming as well: The Leclerc has a unique combination of diesel engine and gas turbine where the turbine fills the role of the turbocharger which eliminates turbo lag and makes the tank far more responsive and gives it great acceleration. There's a video of a Leclerc racing a VBCI on youtube and the Leclerc actually leads for a good part of it (it's pretty easy to find, just type the name of both vehicles) . That's not modelled in game because reasons. - Nuclear fuel tanks - Missing its best APFDS shells - Reload is slower than it could be And forgot to mention: Love your content Justin!

Hello there ! Thanks for this nice vid about this beautiful plane ! Between S1 and S2, there are no major changes to the game. The addition of air conditioning for the crew, which you can see at the rear of the turret, and IRL improvements that don't add much to the game. I'm almost tempted to say that, in its current state, the S1 is better because it's lighter without the air conditioning, and as long the S2 don't get more powerfull ammo. However, from S2 onwards, all Leclercs can wear the AZUR armour package. I still hope Gajin add them. As for the SXXI's armour, unfortunately all the internal armour is supposed to be reinforced with titanium, so it shouldn't just be a few centimetres around the gunner like in WT, but a whole armour upgrade (which is already some armour far from realistic even on previous versions). And of course, better shells... I'm sad that the Leclercs is the only MBT top tier not to receive any new shells (nothing since the first release) when almost everyone else has received better ones. Just to illustrate, the next Leclerc to come into WT is logically the XLR, but the shell that should already be there for the Leclercs in game wouldn't even be suitable as the basic XLR shell because it's totally obsolete. Sad powercreep, from the armor, the mobility (it's a 1500hp hyperbar, the second the pilot presses the accelerator he has 1500hp, the power is direct...at least IRL. difference between Series 1 and 2 is that the Series 2 was made for the UAE, and so was given more protection against sand (more filters in the gas turbine engine, more mudguards and stuff), and hot climate (there is an AC unit on the turret roof)
Nope, the series 2 wasn't made for the UAE at all. That's the tropicalized version. With a much stronger AC, an RWS, different CITV and interface, and a different engine with an APU in an external armored box.

I’m not saying the Pantsir didn’t need to be nerfed, imo they had better and cheaper options like the upgraded TOR for Russia with only maybe an extra 1-2 km range and better missiles than the current TOR for China. I’m just saying that in Ground RB, I shouldn’t see the enemy team spawn in like 5-7 jets all at the same time, even at low tiers the CAS spam is ridiculous. And I’ve lost games on both sides of the CAS plague, I’ve lost games from being completely overwhelmed and spawn killed by CAS and I’ve lost games when most (sometimes all) of my teammates get in planes and provide barely any support on the ground. I do understand the roll that CAS plays but I’m getting to a point with it that I’m starting to actually agree with the percentage of people that think having a ground only mode would be better than what we have now
I think the best part is that this and the 2000D-R1 dont share the same SP since this is a fighter and not a strike aircraft so its worth it to bring both

the sXXI is supposed to have better rounds as well as an upgraded composite layout not just of the turret face but the entire tank, it has also changed the era layout of the turret bustle, there are probably other changes but those are the ones that stand out as applicable to warthunder
i cant wait for gaijin to make this plane as good in air-air as it is at CAS by buffing magic 2 to 50G (cuz u know... 2 fox 2...) or by adding some nerfed MICA missiles which come by 6 (cuz you know... 4 to 6 fox 2 is quite normal at top tier)

15:11 I would disagree. The missiles are best reserved for AA so you can put some distance between you and the target and destroy it ASAP, while MBTs can’t do anything g to you so you can take your time with bombs.
People keep saying "oH nO CaS oP" especially at top tier but it really requires a lot more skill to be successful than people think. Easier now with the missile nerf but really, just how many planes can you spawn? Once then you're probably done, a little mistake and that's 700-750 spawn points wasted. These Pantsir spammers can spawn 2 (or any of these top tier SPAAs for that matter) with less spawn points than an MBT, clear the skies like braindead bots, point and clicking from beyond spawn range and spawn a KA-50 or some other bullshit they want. Playing SPAA at top tier has way less risk than CAS, and that's probably the point. The skill required to be successful with CAS vs SPAA especially with the introduction of the Pantsir pre missile rework is too far in between.
If ur high skilled then f16 USA is much better option for G rb . 3 gbus and 3 mavericks + 4 great aa ms ! If ur lucky and etc sometimes u can make 5-6 ground kills but usually 4-5 and few air targets in just 1 run . My personal record is 11 ground targets with 3 air in 1 game . Could get more but no more targets left lol
It's far less convenient and reliable, you have bad zoom options, no thermals and very limited view angles, can't change targets on the fly, also if it's a night battle you're screwed overall I'd say the mirage is better due to more numerous use cases

So yeah ur not giving away a bit of fire power u give away 2-4 more potential kills that are very important to win some games . Plus I get those kills in 2-3 runs . To get in 1 game not 5 kills but to get 10-15 kills u have to be fast and f16 gives u much more to get faster and more kills . Like I said mirage is for low skills kids like mig27k but u can’t get as many kills as I can in a short period of time
I wish Japan had something like this. I have both the F-16AJ and AH-64DJP, but I seem to have no opportunities to use either. Either killed by Pantsirs, planes, or Ka-50/52s. Speaking of good SPAA, Japan doesn’t get that either. Also doesn’t help I keep getting put against Russia, so I’ve lost like 40 games in a row now. Russian bias or not, the statistics do not lie that something needs to be done because top tier is a one-sided game rn.

In my opinion, cas is only that strong, because the maps don’t provide enough cover. Add more spots, that are safe from cas and it won’t be as much of a problem as it’s now. Another possibility would be to add spaa spawn points around air base with some room to move around. Obviously if there are only spaas left in the game, that spawned at air bases, the ticket counter will burn down just like with planes.
The F4EJKai is a lackluster top tier jet, and the F16 you can just play like half of the other nations, but nothing can ever replace the T2 to me. France has unique jets, and I really like the interceptor Vautour, but I'm only in tier 5. Sadly in terms of ground Im only like 6.? in Japan and 3.0 in france. In terms of Air I would say to go for Japan if you like props, and France if you like jets
No idea what the difference is with the S2 that makes it as heavy as the S21 without the extra armor, besides an AC unit 😂. Objectively, it’s the worst one lol

French CAS is just so good, the camera is amazing with not losing track and its actually really good at zoom which alot of other planes struggle from.
It might be the most modern aircraft in game.

the sXXI is supposed to have better rounds as well as an upgraded composite layout not just of the turret face but the entire tank, it has also changed the era layout of the turret bustle, there are probably other changes but those are the ones that stand out as applicable to warthunder

That's what I usually do, my only gripe is that the camera at such angles will lose tracking and veer off. Hence my more direct approach, initially.

@@JustinPlaysTV I just did it in test flight, and couldn't get the camera to lose tracking and veer off, this was the case during dev server but not anymore since a report was put in to fix it.
@@warthundershowcasing8905 Point being they were afterburning perpendicular to my position.... Still killed them.. it's all about manual targeting and very gentle missile course correction, that explains my like 5.0 KD with the pantsir, that and good positioning on the maps

15:11 I would disagree. The missiles are best reserved for AA so you can put some distance between you and the target and destroy it ASAP, while MBTs can’t do anything g to you so you can take your time with bombs.

People keep saying "oH nO CaS oP" especially at top tier but it really requires a lot more skill to be successful than people think. Easier now with the missile nerf but really, just how many planes can you spawn? Once then you're probably done, a little mistake and that's 700-750 spawn points wasted. These Pantsir spammers can spawn 2 (or any of these top tier SPAAs for that matter) with less spawn points than an MBT, clear the skies like braindead bots, point and clicking from beyond spawn range and spawn a KA-50 or some other bullshit they want. Playing SPAA at top tier has way less risk than CAS, and that's probably the point. The skill required to be successful with CAS vs SPAA especially with the introduction of the Pantsir pre missile rework is too far in between.

If ur high skilled then f16 USA is much better option for G rb . 3 gbus and 3 mavericks + 4 great aa ms ! If ur lucky and etc sometimes u can make 5-6 ground kills but usually 4-5 and few air targets in just 1 run . My personal record is 11 ground targets with 3 air in 1 game . Could get more but no more targets left lol
F16A is ass, mirage better
It's far less convenient and reliable, you have bad zoom options, no thermals and very limited view angles, can't change targets on the fly, also if it's a night battle you're screwed overall I'd say the mirage is better due to more numerous use cases

@@thcfck6870 lol the main difference it’s hard to get 3-4 ground targets and u have only 2 aa ms and they are worse than f16s.. Plus f16 is 100% more safe to play vs c1 . So yeah ur not giving away a bit of fire power u give away 2-4 more potential kills that are very important to win some games . Plus I get those kills in 2-3 runs . To get in 1 game not 5 kills but to get 10-15 kills u have to be fast and f16 gives u much more to get faster and more kills . Like I said mirage is for low skills kids like mig27k but u can’t get as many kills as I can in a short period of time

I wish Japan had something like this. I have both the F-16AJ and AH-64DJP, but I seem to have no opportunities to use either. Either killed by Pantsirs, planes, or Ka-50/52s. Speaking of good SPAA, Japan doesn’t get that either. Also doesn’t help I keep getting put against Russia, so I’ve lost like 40 games in a row now. Russian bias or not, the statistics do not lie that something needs to be done because top tier is a one-sided game rn.

You know, i feel slightly retarded for now just realizing that gaijin models the composite armor on western mbts to be underperforming while for Russian tanks to be overperforming to all hell
In my opinion, cas is only that strong, because the maps don’t provide enough cover. Add more spots, that are safe from cas and it won’t be as much of a problem as it’s now. Another possibility would be to add spaa spawn points around air base with some room to move around. Obviously if there are only spaas left in the game, that spawned at air bases, the ticket counter will burn down just like with planes.

The F4EJKai is a lackluster top tier jet, and the F16 you can just play like half of the other nations, but nothing can ever replace the T2 to me. France has unique jets, and I really like the interceptor Vautour, but I'm only in tier 5. Sadly in terms of ground Im only like 6.? in Japan and 3.0 in france. In terms of Air I would say to go for Japan if you like props, and France if you like jets
