However, Wella created wellaplex to match the PH of hair color so it doesn’t alter the lightening effects. In other words, most lighteners have a ph of 9 & so if the bond builder has a more acidic ph, it will alter the effects of the lightener/color, slow it down & change the effect...or end result. Wella took the extra step to match the higher Ph so that it will work more conducive with the lightening effects of color & lightener. Therefore a much more conducive pairing of chemicals with blended marriage of results.
