From Frustration to Innovation: Lessons in Adopting New Systems
Focus: A team discussion addressing the implementation of new systems, identifying challenges, and brainstorming solutions for operational efficiency.
• Purpose: Foster collaboration to improve service delivery, team workflows, and client satisfaction through technology.
Key Topics Discussed
1. The Objective of the Meeting
• Share what is working and what is not.
• Identify challenges and propose solutions for future improvement.
• Emphasize the uniqueness of the company and how technology must adapt to their specific needs.
2. Feedback Mechanisms
• Highlighted new systems for obtaining client feedback:
• A post-visit message asking guests about their experience.
• Immediate feedback loops within the software to address guest concerns directly before escalating to platforms like Yelp.
3. Workflow Enhancements Through Technology
• New tools for guest communication:
• Ability to request inspiration photos and current hair images via text, which are saved directly to client profiles.
• Improved scheduling systems that streamline stylist time management and reduce overbooking or wasted consultation time.
• Real-time notifications for online bookings and rebookings make it easier to track client activity.
4. Team Challenges
• Adapting to new software limitations:
• Difficulty navigating multi-week appointment rebooking for long-term clients.
• Adjusting text visibility and appointment scheduling to improve usability.
• Issues with accessing detailed client histories and gift card balances efficiently.
5. New Services and Enhancements
• Introduced new service offerings, such as:
• Signature steam treatments paired with blowouts.
• Add-ons like head spa treatments for premium experiences.
• Encouraging upselling through online booking, similar to product suggestions on platforms like Uber Eats.
6. Operational Improvements
• Discussed the need for better print and email options for appointment and receipt handling.
• Suggestions to implement structured notes and referral tracking within client profiles to build stronger relationships.
Action Items and Future Steps
1. Team Collaboration: Collect input on the most pressing challenges and consolidate them into a priority list for software developers.
2. Customization: Explore custom programming opportunities to address critical issues.
3. Training: Schedule follow-up training calls to ensure the team adapts to the new system effectively.
4. Next Meeting: Plan a huddle to address unresolved issues, such as pricing inconsistencies and streamlined client communication workflows.
Conclusion
• The video captures an active effort to improve team efficiency and client satisfaction through thoughtful technology implementation.
• Emphasis is placed on teamwork, adaptability, and leveraging software to create a seamless client experience.

      It’s hairspray, not a miracle cure or some dangerous toxin. California has some of the strictest regulations out there, and while they claim it’s all for protecting consumers, sometimes it goes way too far into overreach. Our customers aren’t being “harmed” or mislead by the term “shaping.” It’s a descriptor for the function of the product, not a misleading promise. What clients care about is whether the product does what it says-whether it’s called “Shaping Spray” or “Fluffy Hair Mist.” These kinds of regulations are a headache for business owners and not helpful to consumers. We have been selling this product with that name for 30 years and now Cali has decided its harmful. Instead of focusing on the name, let’s focus on real issues, like product safety or actual transparency about ingredients. But trying to rename “Shaping Spray”? That’s a classic case of solving a problem no one has. Given that they have more immediate life threatening issues at hand this is an area they need to stay away from. Leave the naming of a hairspray up to the FDA and not the billion dollar a year CARB regulators

    When he talked about detangling...I felt that in my soul!! Doing a color melt on long/thick hair after a lightening service with "leading competitor" gives me anxiety. I can have every tangle removed, wet brush or comb going through it perfectly, start on my colormelt...snag, panic, grab clean brush to try to work through (so you don't end up with a line), etc. Or if you need to pre-tone before going in with final color or melt...you've got the dry straw-like hair from the pre-tone that I'm now trying trying to do a smooth transition on. Literally going to purchase Shinefinity for the first time today. Also, I appreciate the fact you have left it in a tube! I was so upset when SIVibrance transitioned to liquid from their cream.

    This is SO helpful. I left 09/02 on lightened yellow dry hair for ten mins and it did nothing…then literally changed and darkened within the next two mins before I could rinse. This minor tone soft sage was just too greeny muddy for my client. It’s washed out after 6w but I would love a recommendation for mix of numbers for a nice natural pale cream to reduce brassy hair without being too ash as she doesn’t want it grey! Thanks

  • @not_today_satan_7
    @not_today_satan_7 Рік тому

    I'm 9 :22 in and I'm out. Unless you and your client don't mind coloring their hair twice always use / _ _ that is what covers grey. Period. She says when coloring hair to start in the back because the front has fine baby hairs. 90% of color clients are coloring their hair because they want to cover the grey. Where do we start showing grey first? The front. Grey hair takes longer to process. Start in the front. Now if your bleaching the hair yes start in back . The hair is the back of our heads is darker and takes longer to lift and yes be cautious with those baby hairs at the front of our hair line they are fragile and susceptible to being over processed Does Wella know how she's teaching their color line?

      I color myself with my own box colour I always start front as the greys creep through always first , so disagree with starting at back . Very good advice overall . I colour every 6 weeks I have fine hair , and always mix my colours at home , have a hairdressing supply store where I get all my colours. I am a strawberry blond . Thank you for your great class. ❤ my fine hair colours easily.

    Why is it that everyone is coddling bm?? Their experience growing into a man trying to gain the attention of women is no different from men of other races. Why do bm feel entitled to the prom Queen from jump??? Non bm go thru the same growing pains when coming into a man and being seen as attractive to women. All those eighties movies were popular for a reason. The nerd wants the girl, the girl doesn’t want him she wants the jock but realizes the jock doesn’t want her or just wants to smash. Jocks thugs, thugs jocks. Same thing. What bm don’t want to admit is that they they don’t get the support and guidance from their fellow bm in their communities or family. Other bm ostracize them if they are not “cool” like them. Other bm don’t support them. Other bm don’t guide them. Other bm don’t want to build with them. BM are not supportive of other bm period. BM don’t get consistent guidance from their fathers and they can’t find any within the community either. Their is no unity amongst bm. They ONLY time they come in unity is when one of them wants to disparage bw. That’s when they will come out in numbers and validate and support eachother. That’s when they will come together and create platforms and podcasts and alliances with one another, for the bm collective to bash bw. The same can not be said if you want to build a business or fight laws or go against police brutality or to stop gang violence etc.

      She wasn’t rude but she has to teach and wanted each color line to be in order, when she was in the permanent category of color, some stylist were asking questions about the semi colors which is very confusing, so her job is to correct them when she has too so the rest of the class can keep up and not be at the mercy of two or three people dominating the class asking questions ahead of her agenda, it interrupts her train of thought and makes her have to go over again some material

    So....I shouldn't have even watched this bc my stylist is a goddess and I trust her completely, but I fell down this rabbit hole and here I am. She recomends when I go darker or especially if I add red to wash with cold water and 100% SHE IS RIGHT. I've heard you can get the same results and only use cold water the first few washes, but my color that looks exactly the same 5 months later says otherwise. If she used relights, could I wash my hair with hot water and get the same results?

    • @5811dream
      @5811dream 2 роки тому

      Joy my recommendation is to flow what your stylist says she knows your hair best. Relights is amazing and would give you a nice finish to your color, but still always wash with cool water. And now Wella has Shinefinity glaze which is perfect for a color refresh. Hope this answers your question.

    Going to open a salon next year. I want a team of people that will work together. Is it best that I have hourly wage with tips.

    • @allthingshairsalons
      @allthingshairsalons 3 роки тому

      Great question and one that has been asked for decades in this industry. Commission , booth, hourly, salary. Pros and cons to all of them. Our situation works for us. There are built in incentives that are based on client retention/ happiness vs only sales to increase the dollars spent. Creating a team that supports each other with one common goal without financial ramifications for fulfilling that goal is an important factor in our case. Not everyone is an expert in all facets of hair so referring a guest to another stylist within the salon rather than attempting to do a service you are not the best at ultimately benefits the guest. It is not perfect and it's always evolving. In a commission salon or chair rental salon if this happens it is giving away a sale , lost revenue. It has a direct financial impact to that stylist. Which can mean being unable to pay the rent on time or to buy products or food, gas and basic essentials for the week. It takes much more to run a salon using the salary/team based model but helps create an amazing culture and brand that is very unique and special. There is a company called Strategies that helps salons/spas create a team based business.

    The loser has to dress like the winner for 2 days and be in the salon. Rob has to wear a long haired black wig, wear make up and a dress; Lexi has to wear a rubber cap or something to look bald (I’m happy to find this for you), no make up and wear black pants and a men’s black shirt.
