- Was asked by a friend to cover this. I woke up early to catch the birdsong, they seemed to wake up mid way through :) but playing along with them I found rather mesmerising.
When you play these Aphex covers they sound like they were written for harp. Sublime.

The speed you play his covers at is so perfect. I have hear other covers and the tempo is always seems a little different, even if just a little. I have listened to this song so many times as well and you play it so so perfect. ❤️

Okay so I saw your Avril 14th cover the other day and loved it, and almost nobody covers this song, and no one has ever covered it better. goosebumps all the way through. that slight tape saturation between phrases just adds so much character to such a beautiful piece of harp playing. Seriously great work this. Wow.

I love how you take air before beggining phrases, as if you were playing a wind instrument, it makes it feel that you are one with your instrument, sharing the same impulse/ intention, also, it gives space to fully hear the resonance of the harp and the birds which add to the whole experience. What a Beautiful rendition Tamara :)
As those long notes reverberate it really sucks you in, the crowded thoughts in your mind begin to clear, and for a few minutes it is like floating through a dreamscape. I love Aphex Twin's music and this was a wonderful cover, thank you.

You prove that it's not the genre of music that counts, but the melody and idea behind the song. I should add that Richard James has said in old interviews (he hardly gives any anymore) that 80-90% of his ideas for songs come from his dreams.

aphex twin has grabbed my soul since the first time i heard girl/boy song 23 years ago.. i never lost my deep desire for everything aphex and this harp rendition solidified my requirement for braindance in my life

Most of the time when I listen to a cover I'm like "hm, that's pretty cool" and that's all and I never come back. There are exceptions though. Some covers, mostly made by less known artists (and that makes it feel more personal in addition), have a very unique charm to it which makes me just feel the music and emotions poured into playing an instrument a lot more and in result make me want to come back and just enjoy the music a lot more as a one of a kind performance of an artist than just a regular cover. You are one of those people for me, good job.

This is so so beautiful. I was lucky enough to see this song played live at the Barbican a very long time ago. He swung the piano from the ceiling to create the doppler effect (there's a video of it in my feed if you haven't come across it before). I'm guessing you have no plans to swing from the ceiling with your harp :) but I think that would sound pretty cool too....
