I think this song gets better and better the more times you listen to it! It's a great song to play on a road trip! It is on the Master of Puppets album....
You guys should try Metallica’s follow-up instrumental called To Live Is To Die. Their bassist Cliff Burton was killed when their tour bus crashed after they put out Master Of Puppets, so on the next album they did the instrumental To Live Is To Die as a tribute to him. It’s not quite as grand as Orion, but it’s a little more emotional and that’s why it’s my favorite Metallica instrumental.
I learned about Metallica through an old interview with Geddy Lee who was asked about new bands he was listening to and he mentioned them. Master of Puppets was my introduction to them and was pretty blown away. This is an awesome song.
This is one of the greatest tunes of all time in my opinion...no words but packs a punch and takes you on a trip like no other tune ever really can. Rock ya later!
Hiii, greetings from India man, love to see an Indian reaction channel. This is one of the best instrumental work of theirs. Who else wanna see their "Metallica's - TO LIVE IS TO DIE" reaction when that awesome Interlude kicks in???
This IS FROM MASTER OF PUPPETS. SONG LIST: 1.Battery 2. Master of Puppets 3. Thing that should not be 4. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 5. Disposable Heros 6. Lepper Messiah 7. Orion 9. Damage Inc
One of my personal top 5 songs of all-time. Whenever I hear it I envision astronauts on a space walk, particularly in the middle parts. The song title is aptly named IMHO.
My brother had that Gene Simmons solo album on picture disk. I had the Peter Chris one. This is my first time hearing this tune. Don’t know I missed it.
Followed Metallica since mid 80s here in Ireland. They are my fav band and in my opinion the greatest thrash metal band ever. 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟. Should listen to “ to live is to die” my fav instrumental of Metallica’s and a tribute to former bass player Cliff Burton ( R.I.P. ) Melody part of this song gets me emotional every time (EPIC).
You guys should react to Cliff Burton - Anaesthesia (pulling teeth) (Live) It's a bass guitar solo from Cliff Burton who played a massive part in early Metallica before his untimely death It's incredible the sounds that he could make with a bass guitar, as if it was a lead guitar
This is great, "Call of Ktulu" is outstanding. I hate to say it, but this is too short. At least two more 12 measures or more could have been added. "Ktulu" is neither longer or shorter than it needs to be PLUS it sounds as it should sound. This is a personal opinion, of course. But please try "Call of Ktulu" from the Ride the Lightning album, please.
I seriously don't mean this in an insulting or "mean" way, truly....... but when I'm watching this video, all I can think about are bobbleheads.:) Metallica brings out the "bobblehead" in all of us!:)
Thank You. I've been waiting for you to react to this song for a while. I think I've got the name for you when you listen to Metallica MAM- Which stands for Metallica Arm Movements Thanks Again 🤟🙏🙏🤟
not a bass player so I have no clue as to how, but I did manage to find a link: www.talkbass.com/threads/cliff-burtons-intro-bass-drone-in-orion-which-effects-are-being-used-in-it.915658/ One said it's probably two bass tracks over one another, but I would imagine that would be difficult to replicate live, I dunno though. Some reverb maybe? It's certainly a good question, as I am curious as well, also with his bass solo at 2:34
Wow you guys react to so much. I haven't seen anybody react to the Kinks, my favorite band. How about "You Really Got Me" or "All Day And All Of The Night". These songs are said to have started Heavy Metal.
Several of the guitar solos were actually bass solos played by the master himself...this was Cliff's Masterpeice.
Cliff was a masterpiece.
@Joao Santos also 2:35 to 3:05
(Hetfield, Ulrich, Burton) (second guitar solo: Hetfield) (4th solo/bass: Burton). Yes, a masterpiece.
You praised Cliff's playing after reacting to his masterpiece :)... Metallica fans are going to like you lol.
I think this song gets better and better the more times you listen to it! It's a great song to play on a road trip! It is on the Master of Puppets album....
This is really one of the best songs of Metallica!
It's a masterpiece.
"Mozart"
Cliff Burton preferred Bach :) The baroque era was one of his major writing inspirations.
Just think of the crazy shit that could have been if he didn't die.
Bach IS the one in classical. Glad to hear that about Cliff.

Anyone know how Cliff Burton managed to pull off that droning sound with just a bass?
not a bass player so I have no clue as to how, but I did manage to find a link:
