As a diehard metalhead there is sooo much music out there worthy of a listen/breakdown. I honestly wish there were more time in a day in order to enjoy more of it lol. That being said.. One of my favorite artists is 'King Diamond' .. his albums are concept albums/horror stories where each song continues the story. His vocals are a mix of lows and highs/falsettos depending on the character in the story that is speaking or being sung about. It can be a little jarring if you are not used to it or do not like the vocal style. A great song to listen to is 'Sleepless Nights' off of the 'Conspiracy' album.. it relates a part of the story where the protagonist is awake at night because of the spirits/ghosts.. one of which is his little sister who died in the previous album (THEM). Failing that, the song 'Abigail' from the album 'Abigail' is another popular one.. it is an older album than THEM/Conspiracy but also a concept album itself. Definitely enjoy your breakdowns of the metal you have listened to because you 'get it' on a level which most non-metalheads cannot comprehend. I tip my hat to you.
I've been to two war zones in my military career, Iraq and Afghanistan and let me tell you, Metallica is a first choice of music to keep soldiers pumped not only does it get you going but their lyrics and songs mean a lot due to war. Amazing band who actually care for the soldier not the country and politics.
Always loved this bit of lyrics and how it relates to every war... how many hills have been fought over, lumps of dirt that men give their lives for. Hamburger Hill, Iwo Jima, Bunker Hill... the list goes on. The line just has incredible depth.
I sing along with Hetfield to 🔔z every time i listen to this classic, which is often🤘🤘. This is the only part I can't sing along to; it reminds me of my late brother. He's the only reason I became a fan 20 years ago. After watching his copy (which I still have) of Cliff Em All🎸
I have 2 recommendations for the next Metallica songs, 1. Fade to black - A beautifully crafted Metal ballad about a man contemplating suicide. and then finally does... 2. Creeping Death - A Powerhouse of A Story about the 10 plague's of Egypt of the old testament, From the perspective of the Angel of Death...
Some People say Master of Puppets is Metallica's greatest album, and there's a strong argument to be made, but Ride the Lightning will always be my favorite.
I've heard this song maybe close to a literal thousand times, maybe more if you include the face-melting, earth-rumbling live versions in Seattle and Moscow but Knox's take is like listening to it with fresh ears. This is why I watch reaction channels that're great. It's like listening to a favorite song for the very first time because it's through someone else Knox Hill, you are Metallica Certified
I absolutely love watching your videos. Your knowledge on whatever take the song is about is unreal. Definitely makes me appreciate music more. Thanks for the outstanding content!
Old Metallica is my absolute favorite! Those rhythmic guitar riffs get my heart rate up and gets me hyped … their music is perfect for going to the gym and working out… Especially cardio

@KnoxHill the era with Cliff Burton as the bassist until he tragically passed,is the OG Rabbit hole.... You will be pleasantly surprised on how a bass player like him with a vast musical background contributed to all the albums he was apart of. All Metal bands are heavy influenced by the first 3 albums. Metal Mondays let's go!!
when cliff died metallica steadily went downhill, and justice for all was good but nothing near what the first albums were, and black album was decent, after that they just had a decent song every so often, i personally prefer megadeth, because theyve always been pretty consistent
so excited that you posted this because I am planning on hitting the M72 World Tour when it stops at Levis Stadium in Santa Clara next June. First time seeing Metallica, it's a bucket list item for sure.
This song is a brain melter live, man. Metallica used to BLISTER a stage. Haven't really seen them since after ReLoad, but man... good memories of my youth!
Dude, you truly are amazing! It doesn't matter what genre it is, you always know how to break it down. You do rap, hip-hop, rock, punk rock, metal + so much more! Thank you for all the reactions!

The 1980’s Metallica guitar rifts are still impactful in 2024 just as they were when the albums was released. This groups albums through 1988 are the best I listened too. It’s cool to see many artists in the metal after 2000 use Metallica as an inspiration and influence, it’s easy to see why. The 88’ album was the first Metallica album I heard. I was born in 1985. Still a fan of the 1970’s and 80’s metal today.
This is my favorite band of all time and favorite artists in any genre so basically the GOATS 🐐 I’m absolutely shocked you made a reaction video to them! LFG 🔥 🔥 🔥 Oh and this is my favorite song of all time in anything.
Knox you are the only reactor that goes deep with the lyrics. Indeed this is Hemingway's book put to music. This is also my ringtone since I started using cellphones in the late 90's! Excellent breakdown!
Interesting fact. It wasn't a bell at the beginning, it was an anvil being struck. Check out Disposable Hero's buddy, probably the best anti war song ever written. From the Master of Puppets album.

Love to see Knox’ reaction to this amazing track. He’s - as usually - spot on. One thing though... he’s not a guitar player, so he doesn’t catch all the intricate guitar fills and harmonized melodies and counter-melodies happening all at the same time. That’s the real gem in this song... Great lyrical analysis though.
Ever since your first Metallica reaction I've been waiting for you to come across Creeping death! Curious to see how fast you catch onto the theme in that one and the following breakdown of it. Keep going, cheers from Sweden!

Praying for him to be back on his music journey soon. It was heartbreaking to hear this news. Hopefully the love of all your fans and supporters will help you ❤❤❤
You’re right, but when it comes to deep, meaningful lyrics in Pink Floyd, nothing beats “Time”. Even analyzed that one in a philosophy class at Uni back in the days... Absolutely amazing piece of music and the lyrics are up there with any poem of the masters of English Literature.
Mmmm Time....l think though that the fact that it's pure poetry applies to most of Pink Floyd's discography...and the musical experimentation.....they truly are an experience
"Stiffened wounds test their pride" has another meaning as well. When a would stiffened, as in swelled up and got infected, it was sometimes known as "proud flesh".
For a fantastically realistic take on war there are some great songs out there. Motorhead - 1916 Eric Bogle - The Band Played Waltzing Matilda These are both about the 1st world war, and they don't hold back. The Motorhead Track is like nothing they've played before, a change of pace for them for sure. the song is about the Battle of the Somme. The Eric Bogle track is about the Aussies at Gallipoli. Both tracks are raw and hit you in the feels.
God I’d love to hear your take on coheed and cambria. They have such evocative lyrics with some amazing music. Their latest titular track for the album, window into a waking mind, is such a great take on fatherhood especially
I always thought about when they say "Hear the silence so loud" represented that deafening silence that would take over if you were near bombs exploding. The silence and slight ringing would drown out everything
Best break down I have heard yet but I believe men of five line was a double for the five Sullivan's as well this song is much deeper then people have ever given it credit for
Their live shows never fail to give me chills, pride, and grins. The live S&M concerts with the orchestral involvement almost had me in tears. The crowd participation is also insane!! Can’t imagine the mosh pits 😂
I’ve been to rap concerts I’ve been to a country, reggaeton and Mexican artists bandas as well but none of them felt the same as going to the Metallica concert. Them playing live was absolutely insane almost an out of body experience with the way the music hits and the whole crowds energy filling up Statefarm stadium was crazy as hell. Truly an experience people out there need to experience. And im Mexican so my favorite music is regional Mexican music and rap but that concert for 72 Seasons was something else.
His knowledge of the Bible and Biblical references he did on LeCrea’s Response to Kendrick was so on point!!! I went to a strict girls Catholic School and still remember everything thing they taught me on Bible and Scripture!!! I used to sing in the choir and do readings occasionally!!! Knox really knows his stuff though on Religion!!! I was all kinds of impressed !!!
fun fact... the line: faded prima Donna. in the song "the memory remains" is actually from this Hemingway's novel... love how James is committed to his lyrics: One, Creeping death, disposable heroes... and more
Well Knox, I'm someone who enjoys both heavy metal and rap and for me you're the best reaction channel out there. The attention to detail, the breakdowns.. You're the best. Hey Knox, big fan of your musical break downs, and as a Metal Head myself, i have three you may enjoy for your next metal monday. 1) Soldiers Of The Wasteland by Dragonforce 2) (while not metal but rock and roll) Prelude 12 21/Miss Murder by AFI (A Fire Inside) 3) Fire Breather by Burn The Ballroom Keep up the amazing work and may your music career and youtube career live long and prosper
This is my second favorite band of all time! The name of the song comes from a poem and it says “Ask not for whom the bell tolls, for it tolls for thee.” Poetic that it’s a part of a song about young men going to war. As a combat veteran you kind have to ask yourself that very question.
When they play this live at 8:12 when they say “will” they turn off the lights for a second and the stadium goes completely dark and silent (or in more recent shows they just turn everything on so its full blast white light everywhere). Its sick.
Awesome! Keep in mind though they’re old men now and this is no longer Metallica in their prime - neither from a performance - nor from a showmanship side... Still amazing show though. just saw them in Europe and had an amazing time!
More Monday metal reactions!!! Love all your reactions, dude. Huge hip hop and metal fan. Your rap breakdowns are awesome and id love to see a lil metal here and there because you've nailed previous metal reactions. Slipknot, Disasterpiece would be fantastic to see you react to. Happy that your happy, bro. 🤘
I always enjoy your metal reactions a little extra, Knox. I'd love for you to check out Jinjer's new video for "Someone's Daughter." Great lyrics and a really cool video too.
Dude, can’t believe this is your first Metallic song and it’s probably my favorite but I have 5 favorites. This album (Ride The Lightning), Master Of Puppets, And Justice For All, are all perfect albums. And the first album Kill’em All is great too. They slowed things down on their most radio played album just called Metallic or also known as The Black Album. All those songs are excellent too, just not as heavy metal. Do more 🤘😎🔥
The line "For whom the bell tolls" is from a poem by john donne titled "No man is an island" and it is believed this is where Hemingway derived his title for the book "For Whom the Bell Tolls."
And you've likely been told to check out Day on the Green 1985. This concert has the Legendary Cliff Burton's Best playing of Metallica's Best song 🔔z's intro🤘🤘. Also, check out their 1989 performance in Seattle🔔🤘🤘"YEAH❗️"

FADE TO BLACK for the win!

Noice
I’m so very jealous lol. Enjoy!!!!
Awesome! Keep in mind though they’re old men now and this is no longer Metallica in their prime - neither from a performance - nor from a showmanship side... Still amazing show though. just saw them in Europe and had an amazing time!
Gotta check out "One" now.
He has.

Oh yeah! Metal Mondays are back!! 🤟
Metallica - "Fade to black" is a must 👍
I always enjoy your metal reactions a little extra, Knox. I'd love for you to check out Jinjer's new video for "Someone's Daughter." Great lyrics and a really cool video too.
This is the shit. we need more of this! very very good video
Metallica, AC/DC and even Van Halen had some of the best Guitar Intro's! You know exactly what song it isin the first second of listening!
Wait, why has Knox not done Paschendale (Iron Maiden)? That song is iconic and would match his narrative reaction style so well…
Good reaction. I liked that you actually knew the book.
Do more 🤘😎🔥
Genuinely, you are impressively intelligent. First mephistopheles from Hi Ren, now a Hemingway breakdown, mud metallica breakdown... well done you! 👏
