Obviously he lead an unsavory criminal existence in his younger days and paid a heavy price for it, too; but he is also an articulate human being who has a knack for storytelling. He is clearly not a thug by nature, only by design. In other words, he has the intellectual capacity to have easily become a physician or an engineer, or have entered any other legitimate profession, had his life and family trajectory taken him on a different path. Then again, perhaps those who actively choose the mafioso lifestyle despite their intellectual capacities to follow a legitimate reality, are even more guilty - at least of betraying their own inherent potentials.
I have only told this story a few times, but Michael mentioned a Produce market he had. I was in buying fresh fruits and I was looking at BROCCOLI and I noticed that all the heads of the vegetable had big thick rubber bands around the bottoms . I asked him if his clerks had to put those on the BROCCOLI or if it came in that way, I do not know why that held my interest but I was hooked on those rubber bands. He answered my question, but he said, do you want to know what else the bands are good for. Of course I was!!! HE PULLED OUT THE LARGEST HANDFULL OF MONEY I HAD EVER SEEN . He said most carry large sums of bills and its easier to band the money up and fold it into a "WAD", thus you have the "BROCCOLI WAD".. I do not go to any fresh produce co. Anymore because there are hardly any thats open to the public, most deliver to resturants and such.. so anyway thats my Mafia story.. its the only one I know of.. but where I lived a big war broke and alot of legit business that were Mafia owned were bombed ,and arson burned, and that Product Company was fire bombed, and never rebuilt.. anyway when I go to the store to get groceries I never see those thick rubber bands, I think the last time I saw those around vegetables was those 35 yrs. ago.. so remember "THE BROCCOLI WAD". He answered my question, but he said, do you want to know what else the bands are good for. Of course I was!!! HE PULLED OUT THE LARGEST HANDFULL OF MONEY I HAD EVER SEEN . AND AROUND THIS BUNCH OF BILLS WAS THAT LARGE RUBBER BAND. HE SAID ALL THE "GUYS" CARRY THEIR MONEY LIKE THIS , ITS CALLED "A BROCCOLI WAD". He said you never see "GUYS" carry their money in a wallet, or money clip. The way he said Guys, I knew he meant Mafia types. NEXT TIME SOMEONE ASKS FOR A WALLET AS A GIFT, GIVE THEM THE ORIGINAL THICK RUBBER BANDS..
White men fighting over chicken, wow I would never of knew 🤣
