Thank you guys so much for the great comments and feedback! I will try to upload a new episode every Saturday 10am EST.
Thanks for sharing. This was always my favorite Ed design. When they came out with this one I didnt want to pay the asking price. After they quit making them you could get them for around 700-800 USD. I found one, bought it, and love it. Great to shred on. Now people are paying over 2,000 USD for them. Glad I have mine.
Sounds great. Whats the rest of the signal chain?
Beyond belief thank u
Nice full bug i love diver down
@@joshlinville6718 did you ever get an answer? Sounds awesome
My kids and I saw you open for the Foreigner Farewell Tour at Budweiser Stage in Toronto, this summer. It was their first ever concert and we will never forget it. We were very impressed with how good you guys are especially your style of music. YOU GUYS ROCKED!!!
I’m always amazed by how great and inventive Ed’s rhythm playing was! 🤟🏼🎸
Karl Sandoval has a lot of real knowledge of this. Ed did not invent soaking pickups in wax. He did it but Gibson already did in the early 60s.
Thanks for the info!
Wayne Charvel told him about it and taught him how to do it
I always love watching and listening to you play Eddie better than anyone else I've ever seen!
Thank you for sharing your skill and passion with the rest of us! We're very grateful :)
I love to see Jacob do his thing, and I really would like to see him and Joshua Jones work together on something. They both have dialed in VH and played a ton of live gigs. Doesn't need to be VH tunes, those two jammin' for an hour on original stuff would be marvelous! 🤘🎸
@@toddkoenig426 Yeah they are the 2 best I’ve found. Both phenomenal players.
@@markrosenquist8259 I like Cameron Cooper also, he is great but seems like he is doing original stuff and does more studio than live work... but he has good settings for VH tones on those little Yamaha amps. 🤘🎸👍
@@toddkoenig426 yeah he’s good also. I know the tones he gets from that amp is pretty amazing
Used to watch your tetris stuff all the time lol... funny seeing you here
Fuckin phenomenal.. Can’t wait for your album to drop man! Got the first song off iTunes yesterday. Instant fan buddy 🤘🏻
Im 51 and your playing speaks to every guitar hero I grew up with, especially Eddie!!
Rock on!!!! 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Pure awesome! If Van Halen ever tours again....you got my vote to play guitar!!
Round and round was the coolest thing ever. Sounded like Warren demartini and Robin Crosby were using Eddie’s rig
I think this is the first time I've actually heard your speaking voice , not what i was expecting. I been rocking your channel for a couple years now its awesome watching you get better and better. You're awesome dude keep rocking
Big fan here...You have the tone, technique, balls and most importantly, the swing.
dude, your Van Halen licks are unbelievable. I love your content since day 1
Awesome!!!
RIP EVH 😔
Thanks for keeping his legacy alive, Jacob.
Very FEW guitarists I’ve seen have the FEEL you do when you play…….you can be super fast and technical, but if you don’t have that it’s basically “fretboard karaoke”.
😎👍🏻
I don't care what anyone says! Dude your an amazing Guitar Player you defiantly know your stuff!!!!
I'm using the EVH guitar, plugged straight into my 50th anniversary Marshall JMP then into my Germino 4x12 cab with Celestion Greenbacks.
How do you have it panned sounds like the guitar hard left and a reverb hard right?
I imagine that is LOUD!
I just asked this question, as it sounded very, very good. If that’s the 1 watt amp, that sounds killer. Thanks for sharing.
You and Cameron Cooper and Pete Thorn need to get together. Heads would explode!
I'm sitting here with my Guitar getting a great lesson, thanks Sir. You young gun slingers are the future of classic rock, God Bless and keep it going..
Really enjoy watching you jam.
That fingerpicking riffage was awesome!
Man, you are talent + passion. Realy awesome!
EXCELLENT. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cranking out those VH tunes. Awesome JD ROCK ON! 🤘🎸🤘
Your Jamie's cryin' is so fkn delightful and all the others too.thanks for sharing
Thank you so much Jacob! Both the review of the guitar and the history behind it was great. I will never forget the first time I heard the "new" band Van Halen on the radio. I almost wrecked my car!! It is so cool you can carry on the music for this generation. Rock On Man!!!! I can't wait to get your album to keep next to my original Van Halen collection.
Sick playing!!! Sounds great, love the new guitar series 👌
Love your playing and content!
Always a pleasure watching you play brother!!
Great playing, sounds really good.
This bloke absolutely rocks..👍👍🔥🔥
Your vibrato during the verse on Round-N-Round is 100% perfection. Outstanding playing.
Awesome as always! I don't think there's anyone that I've heard to this day that comes as close to Eddie's tone and spirit as you, dude!! I always learn a little tid-bit every time I watch one of your vids!
Nice guitar fantastic playing as always🤘
Love the Ratt & Roll man
These vids are great. Cheers!
Get this man a EVH 5150iii 100 watt stealth and get to work! Great Work Jacob.
I’m happy to notice you fine-tune the pickup polepieces “the right way”!
Incredible playing like always. A true master at his craft. Great content overall. The guitar reviews are very informative
Great - Love it 👍👍👍
Love it you are great bro keep it up
And an awesome Michael Schumacher poster on the wall! Great job!
I could listen to you play all freak’n day long.
Please post more
Can’t wait to the album to come out!
Now that’s a master class. I’ve been following you anyway, but this is an added bonus.
I have one just like. Just played it with my 2 man band the other night. Had it since 2015.
Love that guitar. You really nail the VH licks man, its awesome. Keep up the good work. You were killing it back when you were a kid so no surprise there.
The best as usual. Nice work and nice shirt hanging back there..
Great playing brother. Love it!’..
🤘DERAPS 🔥
Not only did Eddie dip his humbucker pickups in paraffin wax, but he essentially created the humbucker that was big during the 80's (Seymour Duncan, later Dimarzio models) by taking a Dimarzio pickup and adding the magnet from a Gibson PAF, then rewinding the copper wire coils (by hand) before submerging the pickup in wax to limit unwanted feedback noise.
Deraps, I'm not a guitarist, I play drums, percussion and bass. I really enjoy watching you play, it allows me to see up close how Mr Van Halen played his riffs. Keep Rockin'....& God Bless.
I'm your exact opposite, man--I play guitar and watch a lot of drummer videos.
@@burningdaylights I have a feeling that a lot of musician watch others play different things, and I think in some way, it aids in that person understanding another musician's style, to aid in their own style & playing become even tighter.
VH stuff is mesmerizing
Great chops as usual! Love the guitar! My favorite is the EVH Bumble Bee!
Funny story -- I put $$ on a USA Stratocaster HSS at the local Guitar Center and was going back in a week to pick it up but when i went back to actually purchase it a couple weeks later this guitar was on the wall, i picked up this guitar and decided to NOT keep the USA stratocaster and purchased this instead lol .. I LOVED this guitar (I own USA charvels as well) but i am not a fan of 1 pickup type guitars in general, (I need a neck pickup lol) but when the prices skyrocketed i decided to sell it... It was a great well build and sounding guitar but if it had a neck pickup i probably would have kept it, fun guitar
Great playing as usual in your vids, keep up the good work
Such a bad ass guitar, I want one so bad. What a monster player you are man, holy shit! Love your content.
yes! love seeing anyone blast out the deep cuts! The Full Bug would have been so much better if it was recorded on Fair Warning
That was pretty sweet! I got a Wolfgang standard. Exotic wood. Ziricote....beautiful and sounds great....
Go ahead Man!
Dude you're best I luv 💗 u bro keep it it up
When you played Beautiful Girls opening riff i could hear the bass with it😂
Jacob sounds awesome at guitar as always!! Great parts of some Ratt, ZZ-Top… 👏🤘 but greatest band of mine, VH’ of course! Jacob keep carrying the torch! Awesome dude! Keep rockin’ 🤘🤘👏👏 fan from Holland, land of the klumps!
Kick ass! Say what you will of the legends of rock guitar, it's kind of like ice cream, many different flavors.
EVH was the Steve Jobs or Bill Gates of guitar. A true outlier of building to suit the vision in his head. Couple that with with fact he was hands done the most unique guitarist, period end of story!
Keep up the great work and I'm so happy there are young guitar players preaching the gospel!
EVH Foever Man
Yeah Nice Playing My Brotha 🎶🔈☮️🎸
Killer tone in your playing
Amazing note for note! Your a bad ass bro! I hope your in Van Halen tribute band or your own putting all your talents to good use! … very impressive! 👍💯🙏😎
You own a few wonderful guitars, especially that one.
Jake it would be cool to see you pull off Big Trouble off the 76 demos someday. That solo is too good
That show your love is why Phil X says you've got it.
Fuck i luv that sound
🤘👽
Great video... guitar sounds awesome and the playing is phenomenal. What are you running it through to achieve those tones?
You don't see these for sale on eBay or Reverb. I wonder what I should sell mine for.
You are best van halen cover guitarist in the whole fuckin world 🌎 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Nailed it💯🤘🏻
Awesome stuff as usual Jacob! I was wondering if you were using the Germino 55 or the Marshall head until i saw one of your comments. Have you ever got to jam through one of Germino's 100 Headroom amp heads? If so, thats something I'd like to hear!
It's like listening to Eddie !!
My GOD reincarnation maybe ?
Deraps ... you are a monster pro level player !!
David Gilmour actually had a humbucker in his famous black strat for a while in the mid- 70's before VH was on the scene. I can't post a pic here but you can search for it.
excellent as always. what are you playing through here? amp? plugin?
Thanks! My Marshall 50th anniversary JMP, through my Germino 4x12 cab with Celestion greenbacks, going straight in.
And now some Van Halen… 🔥🔥🔥
🤘👈
Excellent as always, can you do a cover of Hear About It Later?
I never noticed that side contour of a woman’s body lying across between the neck and the pickup, with the head at the volume knob. I wonder what inspired Eddie to do that.
11:09 = Coolest lick ever!
Awesome playing dude. 👊🏻👊🏻. How close is the neck on that to the Frankie model?
I can hear Feel Your Love Tonite in Ratt's Round and Round verse notes
You should do a tutorial for us how to play these Van Halen songs……
Yes!
I think he would make money off of UA-cam, just by having so many views on how to play some of the shit.. lol
I’ll tackle a few of these songs once I’ve mastered wild thing
What are you playing through? Sounds Great! THanks
How do you feel about the base response on this guitar. I had heard that the low end was missing somewhat. I got one and the low e response etc has less depth to my ear compared to my axis guitars and others. It feels like everything is somewhat in the same frequency range. When I play the main riff on Im the One the A string sounds more muddy and blends with the other notes. Just wondering how you hear it because of course, with your playing to my ear it sounds perfect.
Hey "D"? I JUST FOUND YOUR VIDEO HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WATCHED IT. I LIKE YOUR STYLE, ROCKER IMAGE AND PLAYING! NOW I WANT TO ASK IF YOU MIGHT LIVE IN OR AROUND THE NYC AREA? AND IF SO? WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK MORE ABOUT POSSIBLY PLAYING RHYTHM AND LEAD GUITAR ON A NEW FULL ALBUM OF ORIGINAL MELODIC/DANCE ROCK WITH THAT 80s RATT/SOUND?????? SERIOUSLY THIS IS NOT A JOKE.. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK MORE? LET ME KNOW... THANK YOU.
how do you get the tone, its actually perfect
What are you using for the amp here? Sounds great. Plug-in?
First? Haha nice playing
Mr Jacob...tocas de maravilla!!..excelente !!..pero quita el cable detrás de tu mano izqda..q te desconcentra💪💪
It's crazy how much that DiMartini lick sounds like Ed wrote it.
I have this guitar, bought in 2018 for $500. Now people are selling/buying these up to$2000.
Maybe an odd question but does anyone know if there’s a way to get a sticker like the arrow around the volume knob? I’d like to add that to my Wolfgang standard
c'mon man at least make it look a little bit difficult :) brilliant to watch!
I don't know how your earbuds cord doesn't distract you when you play... would destroy me 😆
I was thinking the same thing! What a bad ass.
@@theguitarram-ramironoriega9097 Definitely!
So I always thought he put a Hummbucker into a fender strat. So it had a strat feel with a les paul sound...
wonder how different basswood is vs the alder/ash (even poplar the Kramer supposedly was) woods Eddies originals were made of
What gauge size strings do you use?
