  • That things change was a problem for Greek philosophers. Aristotle had a theory for how we can understand change.

    Good video. Philochrony is the theory that describes the nature of time and demonstrates its existence. Time is magnitive: objective, Imperceptible and measurable.

      The only thing that's constant is change.

    I relate "Potential" to "not Be- yet" and "Actual" to "Be", which leaves "Perfect" to put an equal sign between the first two and with this it is the perfect definition of " Becoming", as Heraclitus would say. Still, I believe One can achieve perfection not only when reaching that desirable state (of Perfection), but he becomes in the Perfect state (or shape, or mind.. ) once he Knows what Potentiality means. By knowing, you can reach. Through knowing, you understand. By knowing, you Arrive. ❤ Well, since knowledge is not a passive word, it requires actualization. So actualizing into knowlege is one way. But sometimes actualization can not even be possible without self-realization, and of course desire! What if actualization is not a matter of If and is more a matter of When. Things always tend to follow a course. Their own course. Which by the way, matches with the course of Law of Cosmos. Perfectly.

      Yes, with knowledge you arrive. Knowledge is power. Aristotle wouldn't like saying that knowledge is actualization though, because that assumes a latent knowledge already existing within us, which was Plato's theory.

    How does Aristotle answer the question of what caused the present moment using actuality and potentiality?

    Yes! "Perfect circles are always perfect." Change penetrates, but will not rupture the membrane. The membrane will assimilate the change.

      Wouldn't everything depend on what "perfect" is then? What if the perfect circle was an oval?

    • @InsertPhilosophyHere
      @InsertPhilosophyHere  Рік тому +2

      But if it is an oval, then it is not a circle.

      @@toogood222 Yes, But!
      Yes, Everything depends on what is perfect, but everything depends on what is not too (or the degree it is not perfect). One is for sure - All depends on the substance that makes the form. It is either perfect, or it is on its way of Becoming One. I see it this way: Complete and Whole is Perfect. It is not Unity, if you don't tie the ends (or beginnings or whatever you name it), sit on Any spot and still see it as One (perfect). If you wobble and jiggle then a circle is not, it is an oval or any other shape or may not be even connected at all.
      It is everything depending on everything (All), but All depending on One!
      Because whatever is not PERfect is IMperfect, if not DEfect...
      ImPerfect - I M Perfect - having the understanding of the *I being perfect. One is a complete Whole, not just one number. There is no Unity, if there is only one. But when One is All, and all is One - there is this undivisible Unity, the potential reached in Full.
