I don’t think I could ever explain to you how your pointing out of the definition of faith has changed so much and has often been at the forethought of my philosophical thought.

To an extent, it did, because alchemy was thinking about the basic structure of reality, so alchemy referenced philosophy and vice versa. Even scientist Isaac Newton was into alchemy because he was looking into the questions of what matter is, and that's very philosophical. Alchemy tended toward the idea of the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water, which influenced philosophy. The Islamic philosophers were usually also alchemists of one sort or another.
