I think I'd pick the Japanese style bento because they typically pack healthier food and more vegetables. I'd probably slip into a coma after eating something this heavy for lunch lol. I used to take leftovers to work for lunch everyday and the heavy meals always made me drag ass after lunch lol.
I’ve lived on Maui for a year and Japan for three years. I liked Hawaiian bentos but the Japanese bentos I loved. The price, quality of food and attention to detail is kinda hard to beat. I’m really enjoying this series your doing.
Unagi Bento. It has been a while. My favorite "fast food" back in the day in Sasebo, JA was a trip to Hoka Hoka Bento . The Unagi Bento was seasonal....It was a long wait between but well worth it.
