- The best dirtbike ever made? The KTM 200 SX is the vet riders dream. 125 weight and fun with more manageable power than a KTM 250 SX. KTM had very limited production of these bikes in 2003 & 2004. Brock Sellards even raced a 200SX in AMA Supercross because of it’s light weight. The KTM 200 SX weighs up to 25lbs less than a Japanese 250 2-stroke, making it's power to weight ratio just as high or higher than a 250 2 stroke.

Very cool bike and video!! Took me a while to get it watched but worth the wait. 💪😃👍
I had a 2000 ktm 200mxc when I was in high school. I haven’t seen it in almost 20 years, lo and behold I have the opportunity to buy it back, yes the same bike I owned. I am selling my yz400f to get it back
Oh, 100% do that! Haha
@ also selling a 1974 Honda st90 for it too, guy is selling it back to me for 2000 lol I don’t even care if I lose money I just want that bike back
@ update. I GOT THE BIKE BACK! still have the yz400f too lol sold a 1975 Honda to get it back instead
i loved the kdx 200 back in the day, ultimate enduro bike….fetching crazy money now tho
Those things were pretty bomb proof. I rode one last year. Surprisingly powerful, but man are they mushy chassis 🤣 Of course that's fine for a day of rocks and roots.
My dad had one of those and he loooveedddd it! As he got older though he wanted something less snappy and got a 2004 KTM 450MXC around 2010. He passed in 2019 and now I have the 450 and I'm keeping it alive ❤ just rode it on some trails/hillclimbs today!!!
Haha. He probably liked the electric power and weight of that KDX 200 better. 450 MXC was a great bike, but that huge desert tank made it handle a little heavy and push in the slower stuff. Just drop on the SX tank 👌
I have a 200sx that I bought in 2019 with 3 hours on it. I will never part with it! Probably the funnest bike I have ever rode
Yeah, they’re pretty badass. You should probably put a few more hours on it though 😋
I got one! Completely rebuilt race tech suspension, airstryker 39mm, one ring piston, V force, pro circuit.
Sweet! 😎
I recently purchased a ktm 200 2004 and oh my days no bike in my opinion will compare😄👍👍
I have a 07 200exc and do aggree best bike eva i have 3 differant pipes for ine from mx pipe from 200sx for m,x fmf gnarly for hard enduro and the stocker for fast single track the PDS works really well with white springs and set the sag at i think 30mm no rider its a but weird but i love it keeping mine till death . 👍✌
I have an 04 here in Denver that i completely rebuilt and upgraded. race tech the suspension too.
Perfect 👌
I have 1 here in the UK, all original. Love it very quick bike
Have to have it
my first bike was a 2001 ktm 250sx....fucking insane lol. now im on a 2021 ktm 690 enduro but every so often i look on FB Marketplace to see if i can find my old 250
I had one of those too. I raced Japanese 250s for a few years before I bought it… and was scared of it for about 2 weeks 😆
No linkage for the win..that also makes it have the best airbox ever moving the shock over.. this clip is 100% legit I claim my 09 250 to be best dirtbikes ever made..
I like the PDS. I don't race Supercross though. I think it's proven itself in all other disciplines.
Check out my playlist for the 250SX like yours I rebuilt.
With the stock pipe it made 38rwhp at the time, 2 more than the 125 but with lots more botom end
I have a ktm 200 2002 super clapped out and my friend runns the same gearing on his yz 250 we have the same exeleration and the same top speed
Yeah, they run good. The KTM 250SX of that era was almost too fast (reason they built the 200 for Brock Sellards), I had and sold them. The Japanese 250s were a joke in comparison, especially when it comes to build quality. Honestly, it's still that way which is why I still ride KTMs 23 years later. Japanese bike bike claps out 4x faster than your KTM 🤣
I’ve got a 2006 my big brother just gifted it me after he rebuilt every nut and bolt
Sahweet!
Just picked one up I have a fmf fatty gold series pipe. This thing scares me haha. Definitely 80+ mph
Got a whole playlist for you KTM 200SX Video Archive

Hey man, i got an 200 SX too, where do you get those nice plastics?
Its just a mix of Stock Acerbis and Acerbis aftermarket. Graphics are partly stock, partly old ONE Industries and backgrounds etc.. are Decal Works. The later also makes full graphics kits for it too, which I have but never installed.
I just got one this year.
My question is can i just switch the pipes or do i have to change something in the carburator?
You can just switch. Ideally you might jet differently, but it will be close enough if it’s already close.
The 03 200mxc I used to have is the one bike I wish I didn't sell. But just picked up a 05 525exc, street legal. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to ship my bike to Hawaii, from So Cal, when I visit Hawaii and use it to get around instead of a rental car
Sorry man, thought I replied to this days ago. I don’t even know what I reply to anymore because YT deletes so many of my comments.
Not worth it at all. With shipping rates what they are now, a great deal would be $700-800 each way. That’s after you drain the fluids and crate it up. Chances are you wouldn’t even get that rate.
Hey got this exact model a few months ago was wondering can she fit a 250 pipe on there or only 200?
No. The 200EXC pipe is is more like a 250 pipe though. Moves power down. 200SX pipe is like a 125 pipe but much fatter and puts the power more up top.
@@JohnHowerton137Yes, mine has a 125 like pipe but more volume on the expansion chamber. Aggressive like hell. But not capable for Enduro riding. With this exhaust the powerband comes very late.
Maybe I will try the 200 exc exhaust. Guess the exc exhaust makes less power than with the six exhaust but more rideable for Enduro trails. I will upload a Video where you can see how high it revs with the original exhaust.
@sdezy_ yeah, I’ve ridden/have both. The EXC is much flatter on top and less hit. They both have their place. I prefer the stock one for situations with traction, but a rainy grassy field in a XC race or greasy roots, the EXC pipe would be more manageable.
200 xc is my favorite.
Cool bikes too. Many similarities.
I just found one ! In mind condition with first sprockets ….
Excellent! Enjoy
@@JohnHowerton137 thanks !!
What exhaust do you have on there
Currently it's a 200 EXC FMF Gnarly & Powercore 2.1 silencer. I prefer the stock pipe for the top end, but I was riding rocky stuff and I'm afraid to dent it!
You still have that white 250sx?
No, sold it in 2020 and bought my now white 250F 😆
Your compression needs to be 200 to 210 and mxro2 is the power gas and do cylinder porting and not just anybody can balance the crank and add titanium
Your the man id like to talk too! Im getting ready to make a 2 day drive from CO to buy a 03 200sx. Always wanted to do a Redbull replica and now im gonna! Any idea where i can find the graphics/?Also looking for Doma pipe for the 200.
👍 180 Decals will make graphics and Doma still makes pipes. That's where I plan to get mine.
I need that worx pipe
How do l get that to run like ken roczens 94 yz250
Get it to run correctly
