    From wikipedia: "In the Philippines a pension hotel is somewhat different from pension lodging. A pension hotel is usually not a boarding house, but is a real hotel. A pension hotel provides rooms with no or few amenities. They usually have private bathrooms with showers."

      @AmazingPhilippines1  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Brian. Interesting but also one reason I have stopped going to wikipedia for info. Anyone can add or modify info and they often do. One person commented that it has a different tax structure and not able to have a restaurant on site. That makes some sense to me.

    Good video Rod. I have never seen it that empty. Sadly, the stores are closed. Ferries are overloaded during holidays and it has led to some great disasters when a ferry goes down with 400 people when it's capacity was ordinarily 200 or so. Take care Rod.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1

      Fuel price here is between 60-70 pesos/liter Brent. I remember living in Phoenix in the 80's and it was reported we had some of the lowest gas prices in the nation. It didn't take long for them to raise the prices just because they could.

    I'm planning on coming to the Phillipines for about ten months and renting a townhouse north or south of Cebu .I'll be using it as a base for exploring the Phillipines by motorcycle.I personally I do not like city's because of the noise and camping in the hills of the Philippines appeals to me .

    interesting view of the city. I plan on coming over next February and will be looking for a good cheap but westernized place to stay while I look for a place to live. I do wear a leather band watch and a birthstone ring. that's all the jewelry I wear, so I should be pretty safe from the pick pockets and such. I'd like to live downtown close to all the malls, restaurants, shops, and walking paths. I'm already 73, is good health (so far), and would like some ideas for a 1 bdrm condo at least 50sqm. nothing smaller. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. My second pick would be Iloilo. The infrastructure is awesome and a great place to live. I'd like some ideas in that area as well. I don't want to pay over 24000 pesos per month on housing. My budget is 80,000 pesos per month.

      ua-cam.com/video/kjLHB_vPGLA/v-deo.html They started "downsizing" about 10 years ago during the "boom" to fit more people in the same space James so 50 sq meters is difficult to find unless you look at older units. The Sentinel is one options just across from IT Park, Cebu City.

      @@AmazingPhilippines1 Rod, I'm not into the instantaneous heaters, I'd have to connect two in series to get it hot enough for me. The wife and I just do the tabo and bucket shower, 3 liters boiling water from the kettle added to 4 gallons of water. I only really miss a hot shower when I have a cold and colds are pretty rare for me here. I might put in the solar water heater here one day when we build.

    I think it refers to local tax and permits..
    Also meals are not on the property..
