    Engine mount delete! Nice!

    ???????? What is the point of the vsv? and can they be deleted if you’re running stock ecu and fuel damper? My 1j is stock except front mount ic. and has been my daily for 5 years now but I notice a lot of vac lines are old and dry I probably should replace then all soon. I’m just curious if I can remove the vsv’s while I’m in there and keep using stock fueling components and ecu or will it act strange??

    Im currently doing a 1jz swap and im not sure where the big black wire with the blue line goes that you can see in your video between 1:40-1:55 time stamp ..is it a ground??

    • @behradsays
      @behradsays  Рік тому +1

      That’s your starter power wire that also feeds power to the alternator. You’ll want to make sure you bolt that to your starter!

      @@behradsaysgot it 👍 it was just the alternator wire since the engine comes out of a right hand drive car the alternator wire in the jz runs all the way thru the harness to the left side of the engine bay were the battery would be and the brake booster would be on the right side of course so we pulled it out of the harness and ran it straight from the fuse box with the starter relay to the alternator like its supposed to be we swapped the 1jz into an 03 is300 we got it running about 2 hours ago first turn over it fired right up. Thank you for the help 🙏

      @@behradsays i have a stock is300 with the 2jzge and its alternator wire is also black with blue stripe and it went straight from the box to the alternator too so we just copied that and everything is working correctly now

    Actually, it's a fuel pulsation damper, not a dampener. Its function is to reduce pulsations from the fuel pump which would damage the fuel system plumbing. If you have ever experienced water hammer in a house when you turn the water on or off, this is what the damper is there to avoid. From searching on the internet, it appears that removing the parts you are removing seem to be typical "upgrades" to the JZ.
    Will you be changing the fuel pump also?
    By definition, a dampener would add moisture to the fuel.

    • @behradsays
      @behradsays  3 роки тому

      That’s really good info! Thanks for clarifying! That makes way more sense hahah. As of now, I haven’t changed the fuel pump. I may change to the whole fuel system soon, maybe when I go standalone and get a tune. My current setup feeds from the front of the rail and dead ends at the back. Id like to run a flow through setup down the line.

    Random fact: This 1JZGTE VVTI is from jzx110, there is no IACV, idling is controlled by drive by wire.

      Thanks man! And actually once you remove all the lines, the only thing that needs a cap is the vacuum port on the intake manifold, but that’s also where you can run your boost gauge instead

      I’m still on my stock ECU and still running a minimal fuel setup with no vsv etc. Just running my feed line to the back of the rail, then out the front of the rail to my FPR, then returns out the bottom of the FPR to my return line.

      @@behradsays no damper at all? Ive seen secondary pumps used, but you can just delete the vsv's and damper on stock ecu without it wigging out? Does this affect idle at all? Ive seen on supraforums ppl had idle issues. Not sure if they deleted other shit too.
