Thanks for this video. I'm about to buy a jzx90 with a stock 1jzgte non-vvti. I'll leave it stock for a while before I do anything but I think the twin turbos will be the first things to go :)
Hi Rabid, fantastic video. how would you recommend staging it? would staging it not seriously bottleneck or put a lot of stress on some parts? I will be getting a jzx100 chaser tourer v in the next 6 months - year and will be looking to get about 500-600bhp in it which would be awesome. Again, thank you for this video! Mark
The issue with the 1jz vvti head is it has a poor flow rate. It takes more boost to make power on a 1jz vvti head than it does to make power with any other head. Technically if you have a built bottom end with the right parts, the sky is the limit for power, but your rev limiter will have to remain near stock because you'll have a stock head. Don't let this discourage you from using the 1jz vvti head though, as I'm still using it!
Itll help you with higher rev, so you can push your power band further. Otherwise, if you have a built engine, you should be able to make any goal you want fairly easy.

Still here in 2024 haha. Has anyone mentioned whether or not upgrading to bigger cams would be good and at what point? would you do it at the same time as your whole fuel delivery system and turbo upgrade? (assuming a standalone ECU has been installed already)?
