I just want to thank you for giving us a tutorial without A bunch of pop ups about what we can buy from your shop. This alone will make me remember to check out your shop when I'm making purchases.
+Kathleen Thanks for saying so! Full disclosure though - I do have some videos where I added the info as popups because I was getting so many questions about where to buy the supplies, lol :) I definitely don't do it for most of my videos though - I agree that gets really annoying!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. My daughter had a bracelet that had come apart, and thanks to your great instructions, we were able to repair it for her. She's a happy girl this morning. I appreciate your time.
If you have trouble getting the string through the loop what I did was take a bobby pin stick it through the string then take the end of the string loop it through the bottom of the bobby pin and pull it back through (if that makes sense it’s really helpful)
I can't believe I did this! I've been wrestling with this for hours until I found this tutorial. Thank you SO much! I was trying to fix a bracelet someone gave me as a gift where the knot had come apart. Now I can keep wearing it. Excellent!!!
Finally a tutorial I could follow! I needed a second piece of leather!!! Thank you so much. Tried doing the knot without the second piece of leather many times and the knot would always end up on one side of the bracelet! This makes more sense.
Thank you! Every other youtube tutorial for a "sliding knot" results in people showing you how to do the cobra knot or using the ends of the bracelet to make a knot. This is the exact knot I was looking for.
I have a leather bracelet I wear everyday and have for close to two years. One of the pull cords broke today and your tutorial helped me save my bracelet! Thank you!
Thank you so much, This helped so much fixing a bracelet my friend wore for years. It was the kind that couldn't be taken off. This knot made it so he can put it on or take it off :D . And you have a really kind voice.
Karen Berlin I'm so glad to hear that you were able to fix your daughter's bracelet!! I use this knot all the time. SO much easier than the traditional square knot, I think, and I like that it's much less bulky as well. Thanks so much for visiting. Happy New Year!
Thank you for creating this video tutorial it was extremely helpful and now that i have been graced by your skills, I am abkw to start making my own beach bracelets to gift to my friends and family and to wear on my wrist also. Please continue creating these video tutorials, you are definitely utilising your abilities to improve the lives of others.
Super easy tutorial to follow and the knot works great. I wasn’t sure if it would work for me since I made a multi strand “friendship” style bracelet with tapestry thread that had 6 pieces of thread to finish it off. The knot still worked great. Thanks.
Thank you this was such a great video. I did it eventually but I struggled for ages especially with shaky hands. I got confused and was doing it wrong as I didn’t realize you had to keep the short side of the loop parallel to the cords of the bracelet and loop over that too. Once I figured out you were doing that then it worked. I think lol I did it late last night. Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful! Yes, I really think I could have explained that so much better. I'm actually working on a redo of this video that should be much clearer.
@@JewelryTutorialHQ yes that might be a good idea for the completely new to this people like me. Just that one step needs adding. The rest is really good. I suppose a professional that is doing it as a touch up would know but someone like me wouldn’t. I managed though! Thank you 🙏🏼 ♥️
Thank you, following your clear guide I have now made all the women and girls in my family these bracelets using different beads. Having managed this you have now given me the confidence to try other types, thanks again from the UK x
Thanks so much! I have a lovely leather bracelet, which had a sliding knot, but one day when I took it off, I accidentally pulled too hard, and one end came out. I am going to use your method to repair it - it will also give me a bit more room to get it over my hand. Much appreciated! I will check out your websites, too.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I always come back to your video every time❤️. Thank you for not being selfish and sharing your skills with the world. 🌍 Super easy and cool way to do this. Thank you 🙏 💕
Wow.. Super great on simplicity. I've been through so many videos that talk about square knots and square knots with super glue or crazy glue. Stupid. Thanks for posting!
thank you SO much! I am making a bracelet to send to my penpal who lives in sri lanka, I had no idea how big/small to make the bracelet and your tutorial made this so easy for me!
I was looking for a good knot to tie the dozens of Brazilian bracelets my girlfriend's making :) Not easy with a lot of strings at the end... This is perfect! Cheers
Thank you so much a bracelet my gf gave me the knot came apart and it took me awhile to find a video to actually find a video with the right kinda knot it had on it thank you
Same!! But it was mine that broke. My bracelet is about 8 years old and it broke like few years later. I didn't threw it out because it's part of my childhood. Thank you for this video. Now I'm able to wear it again :D
Omg I did it thank you SO much I needed to learn how to do these quickly. It took a bit of time and a few mess ups but I just made my first successful one!
Thanks so much for this tutorial, it was so easy to follow! This was just what I was looking for to be able to finish a bracelet I've made from polymer clay. Thanks again!!
Julie Ann Griffin That's great to hear! So glad it's going to help you finish your bracelet! I love using these knots - it's almost impossible to go back to using clasps now ;)
I know that it's supposed to be a bracelet, but recently, I've been obsessed with anklets and I might use this as how to make the able to be tampered with- sizing wise
This DEFINITELY took more than one try 😂 I could not get my loops to stay! When I finally finished it it still isn't perfect, 😑 I'm sure the next one will be better lol
Perfect video! I own a jewelry making teaching business --unique, right? (I have been an adult literacy teacher and am a psychologist by education. So I had to learn how to be a teacher and one who could teach to an adult population who more likely than not have undiagnosed learning disabilities. I learned that you teach for every type of learner by trying to provide every different type of learning example ) and this was verbally and graphically great! I have been desperately searching for a tut to learn how to do this, as I have relied on others to teach most macrame knots. I have a fantastic kumihimo design that I have refused to teach until I have learned to make the sliding knot myself. I think that I am finally confident to roll out that design! Thank you so much! p.s. FYI...I didn't really expect to be teaching beading, it fell into my lap. How does this keep happening to me? Lol
Very good video and knot, we use the same in fishing, its called the NAIL KNOT, why not try the GRINNER KNOT or the DOUBLE GRINNER KNOT, they've never let me down even with fish well over 30lb in wieght :) THANKS FOR SHARING :)

@randomcookies85 I believe hemp should work! I have never tried it myself but I know I have seen adjustable hemp bracelets before using sliding knots so I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem. Will you let me know how it goes if you try it?
Hi from Greenwood, Indiana! I just wanted to thank you a million times over for your tutorials on knotting cording and your tip on using the awl. I couldn't get the knots right, which thanks to your videos, I discovered I was doing completely wrong. could you give me any clues on how to get them to line up where you need them to match up when using multiple cords? I'm on my way but not quite there but thanks to you, much further than I was when I started. Best wishes to you and yours and please continue your videos on cording techniques as you were a project saver! Barb
+Barbara Wagner Howdy from Dallas, Texas :) You're so very welcome - thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to hear these tips and tutorials have been helpful! Usually when I make multistrand styles using this technique I make all the strands separately and connect them together last, trying to keep them in line as I finish the ends. However, sometimes it's such a pain I tend to make the pattern of the strands alternate on purpose to avoid messing with it. Next time I make one I'll see if I can come up with a trick that works!

Thank you SO much for this tutorial. With your help I am able to replace a single sliding knot on bracelet my sister gave me.
This is my favorite knot. I found it easier to get someone else to hold the braclet while I loop the other string!
What a great idea!! Thanks for checking out the video :)
