    Thank you for this tutorial! I am autistic and struggle to understand instructions unless they are crystal clear, and sometimes find online step-by-step tutorials hard to wrap my head around, especially since I can't ask clarifying questions as readily in an online context. But you explained everything so clearly and concisely that I understood immediately :D

      Oh goodness don't talk that way! My mother also is fighting cancer and she keeps getting little stuff and doing little stuff like what you're talkin about and it just makes me want to ball and cry and then cry and ball up in a ball :-( I can't picture the world without her and I am not accepting all of this very well but it's new for me she already has been through a whole round of chemo and now they have found cancer again and they have found a spot on her lung and she has a few lesions in her kidney she just got stents put in in the middle of the night so fresh to me would be an understatement. They are saying that she has free cells cancer which I guess is their way of saying we don't have a freaking clue where this starts which bothers me with them doing different procedures on different parts of her it seems like when one thing went wrong with her uterus and she had cancer that started there supposedly that everything else just fell apart and sometimes she's beginning to talk about giving up the fight being that it's been almost a year and I just want to punch her in the face although I know that sounds very mean but I have been diagnosed with a terminal disease also and she would not let me give up or talk about snuffing it so she can't either! I guess what you're doing isn't so bad after all now that I think about it at least you are embracing it enough that you are doing Preparatory things instead of still lying to your family about how bad your health really is she still is lying and telling us things aren't that bad and she just did not tell us about the lesions in her kidneys she instead told us that there was swelling from infection that's why they were putting the stents in? :-( I can't stand all of this it really makes me want to crawl into a hole and die considering that I have vasculitis and have had three strokes and an aneurysm and have life-threatening blood pressure called uncontrollable hypertension and she is keeping me in the dark making my blood pressure worse when I do find out things it's making me feel pretty nutty and not in a good way but keep your head up whatever you're going through at whatever stage you're at keep your head up because attitude is everything it's just like the water you can put water in a church and you can put water in a prison and leave it for a few days and look at it through a microscope afterwards and it looks completely different from the two places one being a beautifully positive place and the other being a horribly negative place they did one with I hate you I want you to die and it looked almost just like cancer under a microscope! Just a thought.... Lots of love to you on your journey!

    Hi Kellie, does the sliding knot look the same on the back and the front? I am asking because sometimes I see a cord going across the back side of the knot whereas the front is just straight wraps.

    • @KelliesBeadBoutique
      @KelliesBeadBoutique  6 років тому +6

      Both knots should look the same. If you have a cord across the knot it’s been done incorrectly. Always make sure to wrap towards your right hand, that’s usually where people go wrong.

    • @KelliesBeadBoutique
      @KelliesBeadBoutique  5 років тому +2

      Hmm. Well I just grab hold of the knots and pull either way. When they are pulled tight, which it sounds like they are, you really have to get your fingers in between them and then pull them down. Once you figure it out it will be much easier. Also, the leather takes a bit to break in. Once that happens they slide a little easier. I hope this helps.

      Could you maybe carefully push a needle between a space in each knot
      (without puncturing the cord)
      and wiggle the needle until it loosened each knot up a bit? (Maybe slide the needle through a piece of beeswax or candle wax first?)
      Just a thought?
      I haven't tried it for this particular wonderful example in your tutorial,
      I am so excited to try😊🤗💜,
      of course, but it has worked for myself on another piece of jewelry?

      Gibby's Wife I’m not really picturing what you are suggesting. 🥴
      Sometimes “speaking” Bead is hard.
      It’s sort of a combo of thing the knots tight enough that they don’t fall apart and then when you pull them tight not pulling them too tightly so you can’t get a grip on the knots. Hope that helps and thanks for subscribing!

    About 30 years ago someone gave me a Hawaiian fish hook pendant that was tied on a thin leather cord and these knots were tied and used to adjust the necklace. I could either wear it up close to my throat like a choker when swimming/diving or hung down lower casual when not in the water; I thought these were the coolest knots for this application so I carefully untied them and taught myself how to re-tie them over and over again, then using fresh cord to make sure I could do it scratch. Back then there was no UA-cam so I'm sure your vid has taught countless crafters how to tie such a cool and useful knot!! Good one!!

    Here I am 3 years later replacing my leather cord after breaking it. Found your channel again and I redid my bear claw necklace using your great instructions again. Thanx for your help. Best wishes, Robert PNW 🇺🇸

    Thanks a million.
    Being a guy, jewelry making is not not necessarily in my skill set but I bought a peice of jade from some junk shop 15 20 years ago and have had it ever since. At times i have bought the premade necklaces with clasps and have been severely disappointed at every attempt made thus far. This is exactly what i needed for a low key necklace.
    Between this technique and the micro cord i found on amazon for camping proposes, i am very pleased. Thank you again
    ...bear bag cord doubles as necklace cord. Never expected that

    Great technique...I remember it from another one of your videos but couldn't remember which one. Now I've saved it to my library of wrapped items and can pull it out whenever I need to refer to it! Thank you for making your design so pretty but ohhh so simple to replicate!

    @Kellie's Bead Boutique I am so grateful for you sharing this video with us all. I have a favorite necklace my father gave me back in high school that is adjustable with these knots. I've already had the pendant professionally repaired and I was worried what I would do if the thin rope it was attached to ever wore to much. Now I know that I can rest easy since you've just shown me how to replace it myself. Thank you so much. This necklace means so much to me and not being able to wear it would just break my heart. Now I can rest easy.

    Thanks Kelly. I like wearing cord necklaces and usually have ones with clasps, but they break easily. Your video is the solution I was looking for, which was easy to follow. I have now got sliding knots on all my cord necklaces.
