    What a great idea for a video, if only we could make it in four mins! We are currently on our third attempt to finish a layout bit this one is on track and we are also going to do video up dates. Love the site.

    Hello Simon, looks very similar to my layout but yours is better.
    I decided to have lights in the buildings (lyddle end) after it was complete. I coudn't rearlly take them off the board once they where in situ so I went to the trouble of doing all the fitting/wiring from underneath the board ....... failure. No matter how dim the lighting was it showed through the walls/roof of the buildings. I did manage to get one building up and black painted the inside.... didn't make any diffence. At least I managed to get station/road lights on the go.

      @SimonsShed  10 років тому

      Steve Thomas Thanks Steve, yes I didn't really plan the lighting properly, makes it so much harder to add! Like your layout, looks great (had a look at the V2 video) loads of little details in there.
      Cheers,
      Simon

    Nice layout. Love n gauge /n scale. Building a very detailed 24in by 24in layout and have watched your water video and this one. Got a few ideas here and there. I only have a single loop of 9-3/4 but it's amazing how much I'm able to add to such a small layout. So far have a tunnel a coal mine area a pond area that will have a farm house barn and small pasture. A church scene and a small town.

    This comment section is so toxic, do people not understand that the creator means the video is a step-by-step progress video that goes for 4 minutes? Also, the creator wasn’t lying about 4 minutes, have you ever heard of rounding numbers to the nearest tenth, hundredth or in this case minute?

    Seems like this is depicting early 50s (approx) and I just want to suggest removing the yellow bus stop road markings. Yellow road markings did not exist in those days. In fact road markings were very few except for dashed white centre markings and a HALT marking at road junctions etc. I have three post card views of Northampton town centre (early 50s) complete with a traffic island at a road junction and the traffic is quite busy but there are no road markings whatsoever. It is only in more modern times that roads became congested with a plethora of markings and signs. All the best.
