- how to make a morel mushroom slurry from a single morel mushroom or from a spore kit you can buy online. Everybody has their secret recipes and this one is mine. I usually use this to spread around various parts of my property to ensure no matter what that I will have morel mushrooms every year. This makes the 5th or 6th year I have done this.
For the air pump, these are the parts I used:

I’ve had mine aerating for close to 3 days now because I haven’t had time to get the liquid poured out into the woods. Hopefully that’s not been too long.
I've had a few times that ive had to aerate it longer due to weather. I usually try to add more sugars to keep it fed but there has also been times i didn't. Im not honestly sure it hurts or helps by adding/not adding more. They always seem to sprout eventually so its hard to tell.
Will it still work if I don't have cigarette butts to put in there?

@@chrismuratore7084 funny thing is, I don't smoke but while I was going through cancer treatment & recovery there were people here who smoked and they would throw their cigarette butts in the fire ring where I got the ashes from.

I do not. There are several companies that can sell you morel mushroom spores in dry or wet form online (along with other varieties). I don't personally have any experience with them long term although i am testing some cultures now.....time will tell if i will be able to recommend them or not.

If i can do this process with dried mushrooms or not. I mean a year old mushroom
@@Hello-id8mf it depends on the method that was used to dry them. If they were dried using a method where the temperature was low as in air dried and not in direct sunlight, it may work. But if they were dried in the sun or mechanically using a dehydrator, it won't work. You could take a sample of your dried mushrooms and create a smaller solution and test it to see if it reacts like the spores multiplied (that would be a pretty non-scientific requires no equipment method) ... or if you had access to a microscope you should be able to see a saturation of spores in the liquid sample compared to the sample you started with. Hope this helps and let us know what you find.

Morel mushrooms being a fungus take some time to grow. The conditions have to be ideal or it takes even longer. The first year i used the slurry method i didn't think it worked. The second year i put the slurry in a different area. The 3rd year mushrooms appeared in both locations. I should mention no matter where you are in Kentucky, you almost always have heavy clay and neutral ph soil.
@@sharpridgehomestead in from india sir from himalayas it grows in nature here i was thinking of spreading the slurry everywhere. There are soo many myths about them here and nobody knows how to grow it here
@@Hello-id8mf it can definitely be done. The entire reason that you use wood ash and charcoal is to simulate a forest fire. You need some sort of sugar (it can literally be anything that the spores can convert to carbs which causes them to explode in growth and multiply like sugar, honey, molasses, nectar, etc). Keeping the mixture aerated supplies the oxygen it needs to help it multiply and eat the sugars. You don't want to aerate it for more than 24 hours unless you can add more sugar. You can tell you have successful spore multiplication if the mixture is foamy on the top. You can then thin it out by adding more water to cover more areas. I have heard of others going as much as 20:1 mixture so 1 gallon would make 20 gallons. Then you need a moist and dark habitat. I often use a mixture of wood ash, charcoal, and wood shavings a few inches deep on top of the ground where I apply it. In the wooded areas where I often just "toss it on the ground" there is already several inches of biomass on the ground which keeps the ground moist and then the canopy cover keeps the ground from getting direct sunlight and drying it out too early.
@@Hello-id8mf One thing I forgot, at least in the united states so it is probably like this everywhere, soil temperature is very important. They grow best with ambient temperatures 55-70 degrees during the daytime and lower at night. The actual soil surface temperature is around 50-55 degrees give or take.

Also, how does the pump/airstone thing work? No one who has a video of making slurry shows how to assemble it and what part goes into the bucket
... Do you need tubing? How much?
if you go to most pet stores that also sells aquariums, you need an air pump, tubing that fits the nipple on the pump, and an air stone that also fits the tubing. The length of tubing will depend on the type of container you are using, i.e. if you are using a 5 gallon bucket, you can probably get away with 3 feet or so of tubing. The way it hooks up is air pump ---> connected to tubing ----> connected to air stone. To be honest, I use the exact same pump and tubing I also use for making my compost tea and I have the parts listed in the description of that video i will try to link to here: ua-cam.com/video/PW03SlcOJMw/v-deo.html and the video is called: "How to make 1,100 gallons of compost tea for free saving you over $33,000 vs buying it" - however, that pump is probably way larger than you need for a 5 gallon bucket since it was made for a 55 gallon barrel ... but the pump is adjustable so I just turn the volume of air down.

Thank you! The drs told me from day 1 that my attitude and lifestyle was the biggest reason I'd get through this. I laughed when they gave me my initial prognosis and said...oh, you don't know me very well. You will change it soon enough and sure enough about 3 or 4 months in they raised it from 25% chance of living 12 months to 85% chance of 5 years. Apparently they still don't know me very well but they are learning :) Keep up with your battle also. God bless!

our mushroom season is about to wrap up here already .... it went from just the right temperature to "too hot" too quick lol. I did find around 15-20 yesterday
